The Stables Reviews

The property was fantastic and even more spacious than the pictures. The kids loved being all on one level, the hot tub was regularly checked during our visit and the garden was perfect for the dogs. All the furnishings and the beds were great, the only thing we found fault with was the big red sofa. The cushions are clearly beyond their best and need refilling. It made the sofa almost impossible to sit on comfortably and would be an easy fix to make. Thankyou for an amazing stay and we would love to stay again in the future.
Deborah
The property is beautiful in a stunning peaceful location. The only issue we had was the fact that there was no welcome pack, everywhere we have stayed previously we are a group of work colleagues that go away each year a small welcome with tea, coffee etc has been included and this was not the case. In addition there were no cleaning products and only half a toilet roll in each bathroom. I appreciate that we needed to go to the shops for our stay but to not be able to grab a hot drink until everyone arrived was a bit disappointing. However that said the property is stunning with nothing to do but relax, pure bliss.
Stewart
An amazing cottage set in a beautiful location. Great hottub, lots of outdoor and indoor space. Overall 1010.
Claire
The stables are an amazing, beautiful and relaxing place to stay. The layout is unique and made sure I got my steps in daily going from the master bedroom to the kitchen
Rebecca
Had a fantastic stay at The Stables. A lovely place, so clean, modern etc. and everything you could possibly need. Very peaceful setting and we saw the resident owl most nights which was a bonus. Thank you for letting us stay and we hope to be back. xx
Had a lovely stay over the bank holiday weekend, location was great. Lovely and spacious and in the middle of nowhere. Would love to return.
We had a wonderful stay at The Stables. Beautiful property in a peaceful location. Has everything you need for a very comfortable stay and is very clean. Good location to explore different areas. Hot tub is brilliant, especially at dusk when you can watch the owls coming and going from the owl house in the garden. The kids loved the space outside, we will definitely visit again!
Beautiful cottage, exactly like the pictures. All very clean, however not much toilet roll provided for 8 people, so we did bring our own after reading other reviews. Hot tub is very exposed as it has no fences around and can be seen by passers by on road. Wasnt a problem for us as but something other may not like.
Robert
Fantastic stay and very spacious. The whole family loved it. The hot tub was a lovely addition which we all loved. We will be back again soon

We had unquestionably a very good and relaxed time at the Stables. Everything was as expected and more. The cottage was clean and beautifully decorated with ample seating for 8 people if needed and plenty of space for the dog to run around. The location was ideal for us as it was nice and quiet of an evening night but only 20 mins to Skegness centre.
Deborah
Beautiful place ,lovely holiday home comfortable and very clean. The owners obviously take good care of the up keep of there property .
Stephanie
House was lovely, really has the wow factor. Unfortunately there were a lot of flies in the house, so could definitely do with some fly strips. The garden is massive and great for playing games if having a day at the house. Could do with being fully enclosed to ensure children are safe. Would really benefit from a climbing frame or something given that there isnt anything within walking distance. Overall the house is great for families and would highly recommend and would definitely go back.
I cannot rate the stables highly enough. The setting is beautiful, its literally in the middle of nowhere but you can easily access a great pub The Bricklayers 2.5 miles away. And as long as you have a car theres loads of great places to visit within a 30 minute drive. The stables provides fantastic modern accommodation, its very spacious and 8 of us fit in no problem with plenty of room to spare. The garden is wonderful, its huge!! We spent many days playing ball games in the sunshine. The hot tub is great. We owl watched every night and saw the two owls coming and going. We met the owner when she came to service the hot tub and she was lovely. This stables is definitely the best cottage we have ever stayed at and we will definitely be returning. We 10000000 recommend
Robert
Fantastic cottage, very well maintained. H oh st very helpful

Note description 3 bathrooms there is only 2 and one cloakroom very ... Note description 3 bathrooms there is only 2 and one cloakroom very misleading Flies a big problem in property due to dirty kitchen bin Dishwasher not working properly ended up having to wash by hand Dirty under furniture and needed to keep something on feet as floor not clean No controls on hot tub so you couldn't control the temperature and it was far to hot almost scolding, CCTV on hot tub recording no signs to say you are being recorded and really feel one of the cameras should not be filming people in hot tub Would have liked some cushions for outside chairs as not comfortable Lovely location garden very good and tidy Spacious property comfortable beds It was watching and listening to owls that made the holiday
The property was amazing and well decorated. The garden was massive and the dog had loads of space to play. The hot tub was a really nice added extra with the addition of seeing the owl. Lots to do in the local area too. I would highly recommend and we are already planning on returning.
Heather
The property is very spacious with a huge garden and well maintained hot tub. It's a beautiful peaceful location. We enjoyed watching the resident owls. The owners were very helpful.
We had an absolutely fantastic time at The Stables which made for the most perfect and relaxing family week away. The place was exactly what we wanted quiet, spacious, very clean and clearly well looked after inside and out from the owners, who were very quick to respond to any questions and ensured the hot tub was maintained every day. We even got to watch the resident owl every night from the hot tub! Many thanks, highly recommended!
Great weekend away at The Stables, such a beautiful property! Very impressed. Would love to rebook and stay for longer when we can only negatives were the hoover wasn't great, no broom, only a dust pan and brush.
Really good holiday property. Would recommend highly.
Daniel
We all had an amazing time. The cottage has a lovely feel to it and we all felt so at home. We were two families so would have benefited from two rooms have single beds as our children prefer not to share. But thats a minor detail. Also a washing line would have been great as the weather was gorgeous. Thank you again The Browns and The Radburns
Cheryl
The Stables was lovely and warm! The facilities were great, plenty of kitchen space available to use and a good selection of plates, knives etc. The beds were comfortable and the rooms had lots of storage space. The accommodation was furnished and decorated to a high standard. The hot tub was checked on the Sunday, a couple of other checks during the week wouldve been nice so we knew that the water was still ok to use. The only thing that we didnt like was that on Thursday the window cleaner visited, I understand these jobs have to be done but surely a Friday would be better as its check out day. I wouldnt have been happy about this if I was in the hot tub as I wouldve been as invasion of my privacy. It maybe worth mentioning in the description that the gardens are not enclosed. We were fine keeping the dog on the lead, some others may not be so happy with it.
Absolutely wonderful accommodation. Very tastefully decorated with lovely furnishings. The garden and hot tub were a delight too.
Katharine
Very well equipped property that was spotlessly clean. Beautiful, quiet location which was perfect for a relaxing break.
Stephanie
Well laid out property, spacious and comfortable. Isolated location but great just for a weekend away, especially with the hot tub. Would have been good to have provided a few essentials toilet roll, kitchen towel, foil etc. Not sure it should be described as 3 bathrooms, as one is only a toilet and definitely need to invest in new pillows and upgrade the duvets. All in all a good stay
Amazing property,so well very kitted out. We had everything we needed and more. Very warm and comfortable with wonderful facilities. The hot tub was just wonderful to sit in and watch the owls and the huge skies. Highly recommend. We loved it!
Rebecca
Brilliant communication from the owner, thank you. The property is much bigger than it looks in the photographs and we had a really relaxing and comfortable weekend. It really is a beautiful home. The location is idyllic and very peaceful but equally it was accessible by car to shops, pubs and beaches etc. I would definitely recommend staying here and believe this property provides really good value for money.
This property has been beautifully renovated by the owners. We rented it for a family gathering of 8 adults to celebrate a 'big' birthday it was perfect. We made full use of the hot tub which was fabulous. The house is quite isolated and you have to drive about 30 minutes to get to anywhere for something to do but don't let that put you off. The only downside was that there weren't any 'basics' provided which is unusual these days in a holiday rental, i.e. washing up liquid, tea, coffee, sugar, salt etc not for a whole week but enough to see you through the first few days would help and only 3 toilets were provided for 8 guests. Also a couple of lamps in the lounge would be nice as would a window blind or curtains on the bifold doors but these are very minor things and I would book the house again for the same purpose. The garden is huge but not enclosed so you cannot let your dogs out unattended.
Dorothy
Beautiful clean accommodation in a peaceful location.
My partner and I have just stayed here with two other couples and two dogs over the August Bank Holiday weekend and we had a great time. The beds are really comfortable, there was plenty of utensils despite other reviews saying there was nothing, the interior was all a really high quality.....for what we paid I think it was huge value for money. The hosts looked after us well and even when we had a slight issue with how dirty the hot tub got on the 2nd day after the farmer had been working in the field next door, they happily came and cleaned it for us so we could carry on using it. The only thing I would say is that you'd have to be careful if you took dogs because the garden isn't enclosed. We took a giant pen with us to put around the patio area so it wasn't a problem, however if your dog is a bit of a runner or their recall isn't the best I'd just be mindful as the Stables is situated right next to a road albeit not a busy one. It is also situated in the middle of nowhere and therefore quite exposed to the elements, so whilst its scenic and very tranquil, I'd recommend packing a blanket or a decent hoodie to wear if you want to sit outside afternoonevening time. Overall a very good place to stay and I would happily book this venue again.
The Stables are located in a gorgeous, tranquil area. Good for spotting wildlife and only a short drive away from the coast. The stables were perfect for our family to enjoy time together. It is well equipped and just a lovely coverted barnstable. The dogs and children, as well as the adults enjoyed running around, playing the massive garden. Would definitely recommend.
Karen Elizabeth
Idyllic ... peaceful, spacious and we had a thoroughly lovely time. The owner was very friendly and when we had a slight ant invasion it was sorted immediately. I meant to ask for the brand of the mattress used in the master bedroom as it was really comfortable. Less than 2 miles from the Lincolnshire Wildlife park, which our granddaughters loved and much fun had in Skegness by all the family. Other places visited were a soft play on the way to Boston which was clean and well run. We had a lovely meal in the Bricklayer's arms so much good quality food it beat us all! On our last day we took the girls horseriding to Stickney .. good value and fun. Sitting in the hot tub at night with no light pollution was fabulous and guaranteed to see the resident owls at twilight. A thoroughly relaxing week and could not recommend the property enough.
Lindsey
Lovely spacious cottage with facilities for 8 people to sit together in the lounge, kitchen or outside. Huge garden which was well maintained and we loved watching the resident owl! Hot tub is really only suitable for 4 adults at a time and towels are not provided for the hot tub. There is a great sized BBQ but no BBQ tools eg tongs. Bricklayers Arms pub is a short drive away and the food is lovely.
Accommodation was fantastic! Spotless and very well equipped. Quiet location and the facilities were excellent.
Melissa
Absolutely beautiful place to stay. There were 5 of us and it was a greasy stay. Loads of space and the dogs love it. The garden wasnt completely enclosed, so if You have dogs that do runners this isnt really for them! The hot tub was perfect and seeing the owls constantly flying around was amazing! All I would say is dont forget anything for your stay as they didnt have any essentials. We had to buy washing up liquid, loo roll as there was only 3 rolls for 5 of us for 4 days. No spare teabags etc. The checkout was at 10 but the owner came at 9 on the day of leaving, so there was a slight pressure to leave immediately. I would still definitely go back, all of us had a lovely time! Not much to do near the property without driving but we didnt mind that at all! We loved the quiet, we went to Chapels st. Leonards beach which was amazing, we only knew about it, as the owners left a list of dog friendly walks and places!
I've stayed at 2 Sykes properties and both were above and beyond what we expected. We loved our time at The Stables and would defiantly recommend and return.
Graham
The Stables is a very recently restored holiday house. It has been done to the highest standards with high quality fixtures and fittings and although the photos look great, it is much more spacious and impressive in reality. The addition of the Hottub is the cherry on the cake, such a treat after some very long walks ache alot more these days! If you want peace and tranquility it is the place for you, with 360 degree views across fields almost in the middle of nowhere. The owner has enabled Netflix on the cinema sized TV which was an unexpected bonus! Highly recommended
Caitlin
Just came back today from our amazing stay at the Stables. Where can I start.. we didnt want to leave thats for sure! The facilities exceeded are expectations! The house was done up beautifully very modern, very clean and well presented. Leanne kindly text me and let us check in earlier than expected which was so kind. Jason came to setup the hot tub for us so it was ready when we arrived. I would 100 percent recommend the Stables! We will definitely be returning however this time for longer! Thanks again
It is a fantastic house decorated and equipped to a high standard. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and serves as an amazing back drop when sitting outside on the patio or when looking out the window. There is also some amazing beaches within a reasonable distance. For us this property has everything, a lovely house to stay in, great countryside and a beach perfect for families. The owners were also very helpful and considerate. Highly recommended!

Natureland Seal Sanctuary - PE25 1DB
about 10 Miles
Awarded the Lincolnshire Family Attraction of the Year award in recent years this fun day out is recommended. You can see seals and penguins, as well as other animals in the popular pets corner.  Feeding time for the seals and penguins is the real highlight of the day. Entertainment, education and conservation are the main aims of this attraction. Natureland's work with abandoned baby seals has become known worldwide and it's carefully researched rearing and treatment program is now used by many other rescue centres.
Rushmoor Country Park - GU10 1ET
about 22 Miles
Located in Louth in Lincolnshire this is an ideal attraction when you want to get out in the fresh air and explore. There are many animals to see including ponies and piglets which the little ones love.  There are also some amazing birds from hawks and falcons to owls.  Most aspects of this attraction are included in the admission cost and as well as wandering around you get to hold and feed the animals too.  A real highlight are the micro pigs which are just like real pigs but in miniature.  Fully grown they are around the size of a spaniel!  If you get hungry then you can take your own picnic to the picnic areas or head for the tea room selling delicious food and children's meals too.
