We stayed here for a short weekend away. We arrived a little later than check in time due to work but the owner Steve was more than accommodating when we arrived showing us how to use the facilities and going through where everything was. The lodge was beautiful and well cleaned, with fresh bedding and towels for us to use. It was very quiet, we had no noise around us even when using the hot tub it was so peaceful. Thank you

Steve was excellent. He made sure we felt welcome from the start. The Lodge was lovely and spacious for a family of 5. They had thought of everything, so many small things they had done to ensure our stay was perfect from hair straighteners to kitchen roll, to a decent hoover to use! Shame the garden wasnt quite finished for our stay so we kept the kids off it completely, but we had a lovely break. Staff and Charlie! at Parkside Cafe & Bar were excellent.
For our family a washing machine wasn't needed but ,for a group of 5 the fridge was very small and with no shop at site ,having find local stores . Bedrooms very bright no blackouts fitted. Very Qiuet and nice places to walk . On site pub restaurant friendly staff and food satisfactory.

This is a lovely property and is perfect for a quiet and tranquil family holiday. The lodge is fully equipped with everything you might need, plus some added extra things like a pair of hair straighteners, for example I was really happy to see a good selection of kitchen utensils and pans, trays, etc, as I love to cook. I have noticed that this often gets overlooked in such places. The beds were really comfy, the shower was excellent and everything was in good working order. Steve and Theresa are exceptionally accommodating and were on hand to offer help when we needed it. We had a small issue with the hot tub, which was not by fault of the equipment or by the owners but was likely caused by ourselves misusing it. I reached out to Steve who very swiftly responded and resolved the issue. The hot tub was a great added bonus after lots of walking on days. There's a nice little cafebar on site which we found reasonably priced and convenient if you don't fancy cooking or if you just want to have a cheeky gin and tonic after a day out. The lodge is surrounded by lakes and woodland and we found our stay to be very tranquil. I would highly recommend this property and we are very grateful to Steve and Theresa for being so accommodating and providing such a relaxed environment for our much needed family holiday.

Really disappointed and now annoyed. I have never ever written a review like this but the issues and subsequent terrible customer service, have prompted me to do so. A problem with hot tub lid was advised when we arrived as the previous occupants had damaged the it. The lid had been patched up by the owner but this didn't really work, as the patches came loose when the lid was opened. The owner came to visit the hot tub after 2 days to remeasure for a new lid, that we were told would be fitted whilst we were there but it never was. On this visit the owner, said the water was cloudy and changed it. We were told that it was safe to use. When we returned from our holiday, my wife and daughter started with hot tub folliculitis. My daughter's cleared up after a few days but my wifes went on for 2 months, with several trips to the doctor, throat swabs, antibiotics etc. This has caused alot of stress, anxiety and worry. I have contacted the owner direct who has ignored my emails and I have also contacted Sykes who told me to go through a third party i.e. solictor. Absolutely disgusting...AVOID!!

Attractions Near The Lodge

While there'll be plenty to keep you entertained an The Lodge itself, if you plan to get out and about and see some of what Norfolk has to offer, here are some of the nearby attractions you can enjoy during your stay. Please note that some of these activities and days out are paid and it's always a good idea to book in advance to secure your place where applicable.

Found a special day out near your cottage? Please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too!
Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens - NR21 0LN
about 18 Miles
if you and your family are interested in nature and wildlife then Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens is the perfect place for a day out. This beautiful area of national parkland is home to a huge range of common and rare birds from sparrows to Red Crowned Cranes and also has a red squirrel enclosure - part of a conservation programme and now home to a family of adorable squirrels. Other activities to enjoy at Pensthorpe include pond dipping and Landrover discovery tours. Pensthorpe also played host to BBC'S Springwatch in 2010.
Melsop Farm Park - NR20 3DT
about 19 Miles
We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.
Dinosaur Adventure Park - NR9 5JW
about 25 Miles
This fun family day out has been well planned and we think is certainly worth a visit.  New for 2010 is the PrimEvil at Dinosaur Adventure.  Other fun activities include the Dinosaur Trail, Arachnophobia, the Raptor Races and the adventure play area.  The secret animal garden is also popular.  You can play a role in wildlife conservation and sponsor an animal if you wish.  At the moment if you sign up for their newsletter there is a chance to win a family ticket.
Banham Zoo - NR16 2HE
about 27 Miles
This award winning wildlife attraction has much to offer both families and couples looking for a fun and educational day out.  You can discover a whole wild world of animals with over 1000 different animals from around the world. You will probably want to try and spend the whole day here so you don's miss out on anything.  Highlights include the amazing animals presentation, the birds of prey display and the feeding talks, all of which take place at set times of the day.  This attraction is fantastic value for money and highly recommended.  Their latest event is the Snow Leopard Club Naming Auction and there has recently been a baby giraffe born at the zoo.
Bishops Boats Seal Trips - NR23 1RY
about 27 Miles
This is a really unique attraction running daily seal watching trips from the middle of March right through to the end of October.  The experienced skippers will lead you out on one of the traditional wooden boats where you will have the chance to see both common and grey seals.  If you love animals then this is one attraction not to be missed! They also do some boat trips combined with guides on dry land such as seal watching combined with a visit to Blakeney Point Nature Reserve, owned by the National Trust.  We think this attraction is excellent value for money as they keep their admission prices low.
