3 Pheasant Lane Reviews

Beautiful place to stay in the Peak District. Lovely walks from the door, as well as a drive away. The kitchen was very well equipped and the hut tub was a wonderful addition. Loved our time
Gorgeous cottage, 6 adults and a small dog stayed for 3 nights. Comfy and clean with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing break. Amazing views. 100 recommend, we will be back.
Richard
Lovely location and nice place no dishwasher tablets or extra bin bags, or washing up sponges provided, and one of the oven pans was pretty grim. Very small social space for 8 people, so it perhaps isn't suitable for that, and also small tub for 8. But was fine, and overall only minor issues during a fun and easy weekend
Teresa
Cant fault the welcome or the property. Fabulous cottage in lovely setting. Might have been helpful to have been provided with some smaller sticks to light the wood fired pizza oven. We found it a bit tricky!
The property was clean and beautifully laid out. The views were amazing and we had a lovely time walking round the local reservoirs. We stayed as a group and there was able space especially with the cabin. The underfloor heating kept the property warm and having the jacuzzi in the garden was a special added extra. Would definitely recommend. Very relaxing break. Xx

Lovely cottage in a great location close to some great walks.

We really enjoyed our stay at Pheasant Lane there were 8 of us so we used all rooms and the shepherds hut there was one issue in the hut with a leak but this was sorted really quickly. The location is remote which was exactly what we wanted it is very hilly when you leave the property so be aware if you are planning on walking from here but the views are sensational. The house would benefit from more than just 8 plates and more place mats for the table as there were not enough when we sat at the table but other than that the facilities were great would definitely return if staying that way.

One word for cottage absolutely

Excellent property. Met on arrival by the property manager Kieren who showed us around and explained how to use the facilities on site. Visited periodically to check the chemical levels in the hot tub. Clean and tidy on arrival, beach towels in abundance for use with the sauna and hot tub. Exceptionally well equipped kitchen with all the mod cons, just missing a balloon whisk. Pillows on the beds could do with replacing and the sofa's had really seen better days. Everything else throughout the cottage was to an exceptionally high standard. Location was perfect for us, piece and quiet, yet some amazing walks and local amenities close by. I would definitely stay here again. We couldn't have asked for

Amazing week, well deffo be back.

Myself and my friends had an amazing say! Great help from Kieron who showed us around upon arrival and provided us with a lovely welcome basket. The house and its facilities were lovely and the area is gorgeous. We will definitely be visiting again!
The cottage is well equipped, clean and is all we expected. The owner is around and very helpful. There are two very pleasant walks nearby around the reservoirs but it is a fairly steep road back to the cottage if you are walking. The main disappointment was the fact that the garden is not enclosed for our 2 dogs. Luckily they were well behaved and respected the barrier we made for them with the garden furniture. The weather was disappointing but we made good use of the hot tub though didnt have time for the sauna. I would advise that the spiral stairs to the mezzanine are steep and not suitable for an older person. The main bedroom with the ensuite would benefit from the toilet being boxed in rather than open but that is just my preference. I stayed in the Shepards hut but showered in the main house as the bathroom is quite compact. I am just over 5ft and had to climb onto the bed so again may not be suitable for an older person. A kettle would have been a bonus in the hut so a cuppa could have been made if required. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept well in this peaceful rural location

The property was lovely and perfect for the occasion. The welcome package was great and Kieran was very welcoming and helpful. My only complaint was that we were only left 4 towels that had to be shared by 8 people. Sykes however have still returned the damage deposit 2 weeks later and have not replied to my message regarding this. We left the accomodation immaculately, antibacterial all used surfaces, all pots cleaned and put away, bed linen stripped, indoors hoovered and outdoors swept.
The person who met us at the property sorry I dont know his name was really helpful. He took his time to show us the property and also replaced some items such as a cot sheet and pizza spatula to ensure they were up to standard. He was very personable
Beautiful. well cared for and spotlessly clean property. Very comfy beds and very well equipped .A Tele in main bedroom would be nice. Keiron the manager was lovely and very helpful .all in all a great stay in a great location
Absolutely loved our stay. Kids loved sleeping upstairs and going in the hot tub. Lovely walks around the 2 nearby reservoirs. We will come back again on our yearly pilgrimage to the Peak districts.

We had a most enjoyable weekend. The welcome box full of goodies and a bottle of wine in the fridge was such a lovely, kind gesture. The cottage was beautiful and very cosy. Great facilities and surroundings. The sauna didnt get very hot, but we enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. Just one little issue, there was no hand rail or slip mat in the shower and my elderly dad who is disabled slipped when having a shower and there wasnt anything for him to grab hold of. Apart from that, we still all enjoyed ourselves. Thank you
Had a lovely time with friends over the weekend. Wet weather walk followed by a dip in the hot tub and a spell in the sauna before tea.
The door to the shower room in the shepherds hut would not close or open at all due to the catch not having any guide to suppress and when located was too tight a fit. The catch to the main double doors to the hut was not aligned to the striker plate hence they would not shut properly. The hot tub cover needs a bit of tlc.

A wonderful place to stay, beautiful walks right on your doorstep, accommodation is lovely and in a great location. Would highly recommend to others
Rachel
Disappointed we couldn't use the sauna due to gaps in the wood and grass growing in so didn't retain heat properly. Cleanliness in cottage was spot on. Toilet in gypsy cabin not emptied prior to arrival which meant it overflowed after day 1, not very pleasant and bad smell. Beds very comfy and showers in cottage lovely! Overall outside area scruffy and dangerous outdoor seating which a couple broke whilst we were there, whole thing needs replacing and tidying up. Plenty of parking. Secluded spot so quiet and peaceful.

Lovely cottage and well equipped. Hot tub and sauna were a great hit there were 7 of us and a dog. Lyndsey is very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. There was a very nice quality welcome pack with tea coffee and biscuits and a bottle of bubbly in the fridge. Weve stayed in many cottages and this was the best welcome pack. Just one comment, the sauna could do with a little tlc as there were a few gaps here and there and around the door so you had to be on the top bench to get the effect. Hence using more electricity Loved the area, nice and quiet and lots of nice walks from the property.
Absolutely fantastic time. Beautiful place, excellent facilities, wonderful place with stunning walks and scenery. We had good weather too. Lyndsay is a lovely lady. Very helpful, welcoming and easy to chat with. Only downside was the holiday ended.
Hayley
We thoroughly enjoyed a few restful and relaxing days at Pheasant Lodge. A lovely comfortable cottage with good facilities and beautiful countryside on the doorstep. Great to share with friends and family. Lyndsay was very friendly and helpful.
Needs a thorough clean, some items can't have been done for months mould coming ... Needs a thorough clean, some items can't have been done for months mould coming out of shower head and slime in dishwasher filter
Lovely house felt much like home, really private and welcomed with Prosecco and some biscuits
We loved this cottage with its hot tub and Sauna. So peaceful and quiet. Lovely walks to the Reservoir. We will definitely book again.
All was ok, Lyndsay the Lady looking after the property was vey helpful

I think the photographs especially from outside could so with updating the hot tub is no longer wood fired which is great and it is covered . The adults sleeping in the shepherds hut and mezzanine room did find a week without a wardrobe or place to put their clothes a bit of a challenge. For me personally a mirror above the dresser where the sockets are located in the main bedroom would be a good addition . We had a lovely time and enjoyed exploring the countryside around the property .
Great hot tub, listing is incorrect as electric powered so much better.
Disappointed that the pictures online did not necessarily represent how it look now and therefore considered it over priced. Clearly taken when new. Two outside buildings aged and grass areas not grass. Some of the kitchen utensils needed updating. Welcome pack cake was out of date. No change of bedding after first week of a two week stay. However, Caretaker was very friendly and helpful. Great spot for walking from.

The location is lovely, peaceful with lovely views. Lyndsey the lady on site was lovely, she was very welcoming and not at all intrusive considering she lived next door! The house was nicely maintained, with plenty of room. The welcome pack was a nice touch, thank you The garden is not enclosed which is not great when you have a four legged friend to look after & chase about, but the site is large and fortunately when he wandered we found him! I stayed in what we called the Hobbit House the bed was marvellous, never slept so well, however there is no storage for personal belongings, no mirror, the loo is a port a loo which is not great in high temperatures and the bathroom door refused to stay shut! That said, there was only the lack of storage which caused a serious issue. The mezzanine floor bedroom had the same issue, no storage for personal belongings. I acquired a clothes horse from the main house to hang my clothes on......... The 2 main bedrooms were lovely, full size coat hangers would be good though! The sofa's although new are not big enough for sitting watching TV on an evening, they are small which means you are sitting on top of each other, not great in high temperatures. Loads of parking for a number of cars, although the road to and from the house is not great, we had high cars which was good, as low cars would bottom out in the many deep holes along the road. The jacuzzi and sauna were there and clean & ready for use, but we never used them due to the lovely weather we had, we just sat out and enjoyed the view. A lovely location for a quiet holiday, lots of birds and squirrels to watch and enjoy.
Abigail
The host was lovely and took time out to introduce herself and show us around the property, answering any queries we had. The property was as per the pictures, and there were small extras that made it. The only constructive feedback I would have is that Pheasant Lane itself has so many large holes in it, it makes it a very bumpy journey to the house. We came in an audi and definitely left with scrapes where the bumper had hit the floor.
We stayed for 7 nights to celebrate my husbands 40th birthday, we were absolutely thrilled with our cottage, the beds are so comfy I never wanted to leave, the showers are incredible and the hot tub just topped it off. The views are beautiful, and the shepherds hut was lovely and warm. We will find any excuse to come back!
The cleanliness was poor for example we found socks from someone else and chewing guns's package under one of the bed and loose screws inside of one of the dresser and unfortunately it was not an enclosed garden. Concerned that I was asked to put the travel cot away inside of the wardrobe without being cleaned. Also we did not like to not being informed that some workers would be inside of our property boundaries, literally outside one of the bedroom windows. We understand that they might require access but not being informed when are dogs and babies around is not acceptable. On a positive note, the house was big, well decorated and furnished and very comfortable and the property's manager was very nice.
