Lakeview Yurt Reviews

I really loved being at the yurt. I liked the hot tub, the films on the projector. I liked watching the wildlife.
Kitchen equipment could be improved. Only one champagne flute, one pint and one half pint!! Two wine glasses was fine, but that was it. There was washing up liquid, and dishwasher tablets, but the dishwasher immediately said it needed salt and rinse aid, so we had to go buy that. Knives extremely blunt! Sauna not working effectively, takes a couple of hours to reach an acceptable temperature. Main thing was the cleanliness, the floor clearly had not been swept or mopped and the drawers and bedside table that pull out were terribly dusty and mouldy. The tapshower head over the bath leaks really badly all over the floor. Dont get me wrong, it is a beautiful and peaceful location, hot tub was great, I just think it is looking very tired, could do with a bit of tlc and better cleaning done.

Been coming here now for 12 years we love it peace and quiet fishing relaxing. Animals and bird life fantastic. We think now it needs a bit updating and also rather than a dishwasher it could do with a small freezer as there are only 2 people and no need for a dish washer.
Yurt could do with some general TLC. Not all the windows open, indoor table and chairs would be nice instead of a breakfast bar. Toilet facilities are okay for No 1s but not for No 2s, blocked several times. Hot tub has definitely seen better days, and could do with replacing.
Perfect for privacy, very romantic getaway

This is just heaven on earth. For peace and tranquility it is second to none ,and as for the wildlife, well, it's just amazing! So if you want to jump off the 9 to 5 grind, this is the place immerse yourself in the sound of the birds, watch the otter play, see the kites and buzzards above and all from your own, very private hotub. We will be back a.s.a.p.
Lovely secluded spot to get away from it all and relax! It could do with a little TLC but we still had a fantastic weekend in the lovely little hideaway! Will definitely go back.

Excellent place to stay fully secluded and private hot tub was great and fishing was great too the owners were very nice people and very helpful couldnt fault it will definitely be going back sometime in the near future

Absolutely lovely set up and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We have already looked at potential dates for next year to come back and recommended to a friend who is planning to book for March next year! Beautiful scenery and wildlife, with a real sense of being able to switch off from the outside world. We felt so relaxed and at peace, we didnt want to come home!

We had the best time at Lake View Yurt. I couldnt recommend this place enough it is fantastic and completely faultless. Sitting in the hot tub to sitting up on the terrace watching the lake and out in the rowing boat to having a bbq next to the lake. It is so peaceful and the owners couldnt have done anything more. We will be back very soon! Thanks for an AMAZING stay!
Another wonderful holiday at these comfortable yurts. We have been about 12 times and hate leaving. First time we took our dog Ginger and she loved all the wildlife and the farm terrain. We saw 6 deer, herrons, geese, 19 goslings in one family, barn owl, ducks, black swans and a sygnet, cormorant, squirrels, pheasants and king fisher but no Partridge in a pear tree!! Can't wait until we return, very restful, relaxing and of course we drank and ate well.

Third time we have stayed love the place

We were not keen on the toilet being in such a small cupboard with no hot water or even a towel rail, we had to wash in the kitchen sink, and it was quite a long walk in the dark to the village, fortunately we had a torch. Nice friendly pub, the Beckford Inn, with good food.
What an idyllic little getaway. So peaceful and picturesque. The hot tub was perfect for an evening under the stars and the wildlife was amazing. Highly recommended for those that want to get away and relax. Used own boat although one available if you wanted to explore the lake and even spent some time fishing. Will definitely be booking to visit again.

We arrived on Sunday the 1st August we met by the owner, who showed us to the yurt we had a brilliant stay the hot tub was amazing the view and the ducks was lovely sauna was OK shame we had to clean out the boat and the electric motor didn't work which we was told it worked as for the place its self I think it could have been more updated in the kitchen. we had lovely fluffy towels and robes I didn't realise there was so many spiders in there lucky my partner didn't tell me I would have freak out, overall we enjoyed our stay would love to go back soon
An amazing place to stay! Peace and tranquillity! Great hosts! Nothing is too much trouble but you only see them if needed! Apart from that you dont see another soul unless one of the other guests take a trip out on the lake in their boat. Its just you and the amazing scenery and wildlife. Already booked for next year our 4th year and cannot wait!
This place is truly amazing. We were shown around by Dave who was very helpful & friendly.yurt was clean and had everything you needed the towels and dressing gowns were lovely and fluffy and a lovely touch.bed was very comfy and huge..loved the hot tub & sauna which we used everyday. Used the BBQ and chimnea every day whilst over looking the lake with spectacular views.the ducks were very friendly and would feed from our hands which was fab..my heart hubby enjoyed fishing and caught quite a few fish..we want to the the star in a couple of times for food which was really nice and just a 5 me mute drive and we had some lovely walks . just everything about our stay was unreal it was secluded and peaceful and we couldn't of wished for anywhere better to spend our anniversary and will definitely be booking to come back
A fantastic place to get away from it all and relax.
Amanda
The yurt and location are lovely. Just a shame that the cleanliness lets it down. Make sure you clean everything when you arrive
The best part about the yurt was the hot tub & amazing views of the lake very relaxing. The yurt was stocked with nearly everything you need and bed was clean & fresh. Bath towels and robes were a great extra. However, the cleanliness of the yurt was not quite up to standard. When we arrived, there was lots of cobwebs and spiders especially in the bathroom. The toilet itself was clean but the bathroom was very grimy, the cupboard even had dead wood lice inside. The pipe above the toilet leaked rain through the ceiling and unfortunately these things really let the yurt down. The yurt also allowed for lots of creepy crawlies to enter including slugs, which we believe was due to the gap between the yurt wall and skirting by the bed and bath. The bath was lovely but was dirty when we arrived. As well as this, we never used the sauna outside due to the cobwebs covering both the inside & out which was a bit of a let down. Overall, the yurt needs a deep clean and ultimately the lack of cleanliness was what has let it down for us.
Its actually undersold on the website. Underfloor heating excellent! Hot tub excellent. The most perfect setting, right on the lake. Total peace and quiet in the most beautiful setting. Comfy bed and every facility you could ask for. Very well done. Will 100 be returning soon!
William
We enjoyed everything about the holiday , the location the yurt was in ,it was so private and we saw lots of wildlife deer poll cats geese swans it was amazing. the hot tub and sauna where a plus and the finishing touches in the yurt robes and towels . We have never stayed in a yurt before and we will definitely be going again this holiday was amazing.. Cant wait to go back.

We havent had a weekend away child free in 12 years and we were looking forward to this weekend immensely! It didnt disappoint at all! Beautifully peaceful surroundings, glorious weather, great food cooked on the BBQ and pure relaxation! Everything was as it should be, the owners were incredibly lovely and accommodating. We spent some time on the lake in the boat surrounded by inquisitive geese and black swans! We made friends with a gorgeous pink footed goose whom we named Pete! He would come right to us and ask for food! Not aggressive at all but very chatty and personable with us. We saw a gorgeous black deer in the nearby field and heard the owls at night! The projector screen and abundance of movies was a lovely touch. The kitchen was well stocked and the outdoor furniture was well used this weekend. The hot tub although glorious was a little too hot to use with outdoor temps of 31! But when we used it we were incredibly relaxed and enjoyed it immensely. Overall an amazing weekend and just what we needed. We would love to come back again for sure. Thank you Sykes and thank you to the owners for sharing this beautiful setting.
We had the best time , it was a very relaxing break and We did not want to leave ! Even the little bit of rain we had couldnt spoil it , highly recommend!
Will be recommending this fabulous, relaxing, peaceful yurt to all our friends and family.
Holiday was lovely, the owners were delightful and very helpful. The local area was also great with lots of things to do. Private hot tub and sauna was just what we needed after a long day exploring.
17th wedding anniversary
Decided to do something a little different for our anniversary this year. And so glad we did what a great getaway very secluded and private our yurt was clean and tidy. A large comfortable bed large bath tub and a well stocked kitchen. The under floor heating was Brilliant. The hot tub was beautifully hot and after a day out walking we chilled in it. The sauna was a great way to relax aching muscles. Even in December the yurt was in a sheltered area that meant we spent time outside having bbqs feeding swans ducks and geese. The owners we met at the start were very helpful and showed us around and how to work things. Would highly recommend for anyone who wants a getaway to relax. Some beautiful walks and places to visit
Wonderful little gem hidden away from noise and society! I booked the yurt for a surprise engagement location and it was more than perfect. The owners were very friendly and allowed me a later check in than would be usual due to work, and also allowed me to decorate the yurt with personal touches for the engagement. Hot tub is lovely, in there most of the time and going out in the boat was a nice romantic touch. Only downsides if any would be the guese are very loud in the morning and the natural light comes through the ceiling so not much chance of sleeping in. Overall though highly recommend!
Patricia
Wonderful place to stay for peace and quiet fabulous hot tub really stress free holiday
Michael Clowes
The yurt is in a wonderful secluded spot it is very comfortable with good facilities, the bed was clean and comfortable, the interior of the yurt could do with a good springclean to spruce it up a little . All in all we had a very pleasant and relaxing weekend and would recommend the food at the nearby star inn at Ashton. Michael and Cheryl.
Perfect
The pictures do not do this place justice! I have never stayed in a yurt before, but I?m already looking into visiting more yurts! Clean, well presented and all the amenities you would need. Comfortable bed and a very cute touch with a pull down screen and projector with a wide range of dvds to chose from, perfect to watch in the evenings with the door open feeling the fresh air. The hot tub made the evenings perfect for when the outside temperature would drop, to sit in there with a glass of wine and watch the ducks on the lake. The lake itself made our experience. Quiet and calm lake with all different ducks, swans, geese etc. rowing around the lake was not only fun but so romantic. We took a stroll into the village and it is so clean and so quiet, the pub was lovely and welcoming and serves good quality food. I really do recommend this place I would love to return and spend a week instead of a couple days! So much to explore and see. Me and my partner had the best time what a lovely tranquil setting.... thankyou!
It was a little outdated and drity , but has beautiful views very blissful and quiet the dog loved it we had daily visits from the owners dog fred which was lovely. The sauna and jacuzzi was nice ,my husband loved the fishing it was a very relaxing experience and would go back again .
Frances
Pictures dont do it justice
We absolutely loved staying at this yurt. The outside area was a little tired but that's living outside! It just added to the rustic charm of the place. We had a fantastic week, we spent so much time watching the wildlife and making friends with the ducks and geese especially Wonky with the dodgy wings who ended up feeding from our hands. I still miss the early wake up call tapping on the yurt door! The sauna and hot tub are perfect for relaxing and we BBQ'd 5 nights out of the 7. So peaceful, so beautiful and we have already booked to come back next year
