Broadway Lands Farm Reviews

Overall lovely property and had a great holiday beds very comfortable just a few niggles no cold water upstairs toilets all had problems flushing and smart TV wouldn't connect to internet! However this property is good value for money
We really enjoyed our stay here,so quiet and peaceful, had a daily visit from the peacock which we could feed. Best thing was the hottub.beds where really comfy.just like home from home, will visit again
Mrs Susan
Owner very helpful, lovely location, very untidy place needed a good clean downstairs and updating,, garden was a mess and had hornets at night when the lights turned on owner said he would look into it? Pictures need up dating, on website beds very comfy and well equipped.
The property was excellent and the owner had covered everything he said plus more. There was a freezer and a dryer which was not on the listing which made things much easier. Only negative was no cold water upstairs in either sink but this didn't cause us any issues. There was many little touches like flip flops, dressing gowns, games, dvd, walking maps and lots more provided which was all greatly appreciated. Single track lane to get to the property which was difficult but manageable and would not put us off returning. Overall. A lovely stay .

Rural. Peaceful & quiet. Garden needs much improvement. Settee in lounge seen better days with little support for back sufferers like me. 2 leaks in roof in conservatory, had to use pot to collect spills. Cold water tap in ensuite doesnt work. Stain on sheetbedding. Bed was amazing. Care taken to ensure all facilities are at hand. This could be made so much better.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and the hot tub was brilliant. Very pleasant helpful owner. Really peaceful location.
Lovely cottage everything we needed. Hot tub was brilliant, nice peaceful location. We had a lovely stay. Thank you.
We had a lovely stay, the weather was good to us which helped. Phil gave us a good introduction to the area and made several recommendations. We enjoyed sitting in the garden and meeting the Peacock. Felt very private too. The hot tub was lovely. No issues with the lid, I managed it each time on my own. The main bedroom was very comfortable, huge bed clean and fresh. Nice shower too. We ate at the property each of the three nights we were there, on the first night we had been shopping but forgot salt for cooking , a lot of rental properties Ive stayed in have some basics for guests. It wasnt an issue as we got some the next day. The local area is beautiful and Phil recommended a nice walk. Only negatives were two of the wine glasses were quite dirty, probably put back by previous guests and not checked.
Firstly Great Location, up stairs you couldn't Fault and beds so comfortable, downstairs could really do with a good clean and sofa has seen better days, hot tube nice but the garden really needs some work . The pictures on website need up dating because they were Obviously took a while ago

We spent a few days here over Christmas. It was great. Warm welcome from Phil. The property is a good size with almost everything you need. Beds very comfortable. Sofa in the living room is feeling a little tired and the armchair has seen better days. But do not let this put you off, it really is worth a stay. Hot tub is a very nice way to chill out but, the lid is very heavy needs 2 even 3 people to remove & replace. With a few improvements it would be perfect. Phil did say he has a new lid on order, but will it be any lighter, I don't know Downside is the vacate time...in our opinion 9am is to early 10 or even 11 would be much better... Thanks Phil we will definitely be coming back and recommending...

Nice cottage in countryside. Enjoyed our stay. Hot bath tub needs updating though.

Beautiful location. Extremely well equipped cottage. Very comfortable furnishings. Peaceful and quiet surroundings, with plenty of places to visit that are only a short drive away. The nearest pub , The Cottage of Content , has excellent food and drinks and is very friendly.

Spent a week at broadway lands farm and hands down it have been the best English ... Spent a week at broadway lands farm and hands down it have been the best English stay I have ever had, outstanding place, landlord was very nice and helpful, great man , the place was well looked after 5star, the surrounding areas was great and most of all the hot tub second to none, also we came with our two big dogs Rottweilers and they enjoyed every moment of it, suitable for everything
Great location, clean and tidy. Hot tub a real bonus.
We very much enjoyed staying at the house. The property was exactly as described on the web site and was very comfortable for the 3 of us. The property was clean and tidy and there was plenty of towles etc.
Bit more rural than expected, couldn't walk baby in pram as impossible for cars ... Bit more rural than expected, couldn't walk baby in pram as impossible for cars to pass due to narrow lanes only car width & high hedge hot tub lid too heavy even for 2 people & you have to lift it on &off , couldn't fault anything else &hot tub water checked regularly by owner
Louise
Lovely holiday cottage very well equipped and Beautiful location.
Phil the owner very nice there when you needed him. VIews to die for. Cottage very welll equipped beds comfy had a lovely relaxing week Mr peacock came to be fed very nice will return in the future.
Fantastic property to stay , very spacious and tranquil surroundings. Close to Hereford for all amenities Host lovely and we are definitely booking again
We enjoyed a very comfortable and relaxing week at Broadway Lands Farm. It's deeply rural yet only 20 mins drive from Hereford, with beautiful views especially from the gorgeous hot tub! The accommodation is very spacious and one of the best equipped houses we've stayed in a real home from home, with lots of extra touches. The super kingsize bed was very comfortable. We had plenty of hot water and there are 2 bathrooms as well as a downstairs cloakroom. There are walks from outside the door be prepared for hills! Lots to do in the Wye Valley area, and some excellent local pubs. We hope to return!
Michael
Generally lovely place in a beautiful location, great base camp stay to visit nearby things and a good place to get some very needed relaxing in. It's a really nice touch that the owner has made up a mix of nuts and biscuits to feed the local peacock with, meaning he pops by to see if he can have lunch and allows you within a few feet of him. Only a few things to make this a complete 5 star experience The cover for the hot tub is quite heavy, being relatively young and fit we managed it but this could pose a slight issue for older couples, though I'm not sure of a solution or work around for this. While only a minor annoyance the volume on the TV in the snug area goes up and down on its own, going from a whisper to a shout in a few seconds. Some of the building could do with a slight touch up, few holes in the walls where electrics have been modified in the past and not touched back in, but that's probably just me looking at a property from a trade perspective. Pressure on the ensuite shower is a little lower than would be expected considering the water pressure in the rest of the property is incredible. Didn't really get any instructions on how to leave the place, so washed everything up, put the bins out and stripped the bed put the towels by the washing machine and hoped for the best.
Jennifer
Positives The house was neat and tidy with plenty of equipment and resources spare towels, dressing gowns & crocs for the hot tub, plenty of cutlery and crockery, kitchen equipment, kitchen towels, lots of loo roll, lots of crockery, seating areas, information leaflets, books, board games, hairdryers, storage space to name a few. Phil, the owner, was attentive but not intrusive. He gave a tour of the house so you knew how to work the heating, other appliances and the hot He left us food for the wild peacock that likes to visit. The heating was amazing. It quickly heated the house up to keep you warm. Plenty of space to park.
Rebecca
We had a lovely few days away at this cottage. The beds are amazingly comfortable. Like home from home kitchen fully equipped. Near to Hereford and the Forest of Dean for day trips. It was lovely and secluded with a beautiful view. Few little issues, hot tub cover you have to actually lift this off onto a table. It was very heavy, if my husband was not there I would not of been able to take it off. There was not adequate cover from the wind, was freezing sat in the hot tub. Lastly the rug in the conservatory was covered in pet hair. We didnt take an animal so probably noticed more. However definitely recommend for families.
Best equipped cottage we have been in. ..very satisfied and made welcome by the owner Philip..... would highly recommend....
We really enjoyed our stay 1 week at Broadlands Farm Cottage with our two spaniels. The owner Phil has gone to a lot of trouble to provide many extras such as board games, books, hottub gowns and flipflops. There are lots of great walks in the area and a super restaurantpub half a mile down the road The Cottage of Content. There is also a resident peacock at the farm who was loved by everyone. We stayed in January and the only suggestion for an improvement would be to install a woodburning stove in the conservatory area, which was too cool to use. We would love to visit again...
Graham
Phil and the property were incredible! Loved staying at the property over new years eve. Amazing local walks and getting into the hot tub after is bliss.
Carole
Very nice cottage we stayed in although we had to deal with a leaking sink in the kitchen as the plumbing need attention.
Christina
Very peaceful and homely place plus all positive attributes, surrounded by a very beautiful landscape!
Fantastic property, very comfortable. Perfect place for doing not a lot and just relaxing. Phil was very welcoming and friendly, we had no problems but felt at ease had we needed to call on him. Great host. Highly likely we would return for a weekend break again. Great value.
Deanna
We really enjoyed our stay at Broadlands farm. The bed was so comfy and the hot tub was really lovely, with plenty of spare towels. I also got to meet Percy the Peacock which was lovely. The owner was very welcoming and we felt like it was a really good introduction to the property. I think there were only two small points possibly for improvement, but these are minor Trying to watch the TV in the lounge was a bit awkward. There was only Would suggest potentially blocking off the door into the dining room and getting a wider second sofa, or getting rid of existing sofas for a big corner one coving the dining room and french doors in the lounge, or swapping the lounge and dining room around though unconventional it might add more room. As it is quite a distance from shops and we arrived late in the evening it would be really nice to provide a starter pack of some food such as eggs, bread, milk, jam etc. With hindsight we should have come prepared but similar properties that we've travelled to including during the pandemic have done this for similar reasons. The house was more than we could have asked for, and we would be hoping to come back in the future. Thanks again.
We had a wonderful relaxed stay with our 2 dogs. Beautiful area, lots to see and do. Owner Philip very helpful and hot tub was and view fantastic
Sharron
The cottage was lovely, very well equipped. When we did have a problem Phil sorted it straight away. The advantage of living nextdoor. It was great that he provided kitchen cleaning and washing up products. In previous cottages I've had to go out and buy it. It would be good if the cottage listed all the little extras such as hairdryers as it would of saved me packing one. I would definitely book again and recommend to my friends.
Tracey
Broadway Lands Farm had everything you could have wanted, it was a real home from home experience. The host Phil made us feel very welcomed and was on hand if we required anything. A tranquil, relaxing wonderful break we did not want to leave. I am sure that we will be returning in the future.
Nicola
Broadway Lands is a home from home. It has absolutely everything you need. We used it as a base to venture out each day Wilton for a walk along the river, Ross on Wye for fish and chips, Perrygrove trains twice!, the Three Castles of Gwent where we paddled in the river Monnoe at Skenfrith, Lydney Harbour for the biggest and best 99, Cyril Hart Arboretum so my son and dog could run around and be nature adventurers. If you don't mind single track roads then I'd definitely recommend getting out. We done a single track all the way to Wales on one day! We done the 'blue' walk once but the steep road was too much for my 6 year old. Loved a bit of foraging though sloes, plums, apples, cob nuts and blackberries! Then after all that, coming back for a soak in the hot tub and watch the stars come out and spot the bats. The robes there were a fantastic touch to put straight on after the tub. You'll need a break for some R&R after a wonderfully busy week here! We're exhausted but what adventures we had and what memories we made.
A very clean and comfortable cottage. Fantastic setting, as long as you dont mind driving along roads with grass growing up the middle! The view from the hot tub across the Wye Valley is spectacular. Highly recommend for a peaceful break.
George
The bed was very comfy and this place has a real home away from home feel really enjoyed our stay here!
The approach roads to this accommodation are extremely narrow with little or no passing places. Not for the nervous type. This should be included in the advert for this property.
Absolute gem of a place, a home away from home.
