Amazing location with lovely walks right from the door. Grotto House is a very special property with the river running right by the door. The enclosed garden gave us total privacy, allowing the dog to potter freely outside. Modern touches with total comfort, we felt very welcome. Sun loungers, and of course the hot tub were excellent features to reRead morelax when we returned from days out. Hide

This house certainly has the wow factor, its absolutely gorgeous. Not only is it in a perfect village location next to a a beautiful stream, the interior is gorgeous , very modern and spacious and very clean. The hot tub was a bonus . The garden was a lovely sun trap and great for our dogs , it's fully enclosed so there was no worry about them gett ing out. As for food there is an italian restaurant Colloseo and the packhorse Inn , both are excellent , the owners were also very helpful
Richard
Lovely house and location, some suggestions left with owners. An excellent holiday.
Sarah
A truly special property in the best spot in the village. Unique setting. Helpful hosts. Well appointed with comfy beds, good shower, hot tub, dishwasher, washer and dryer, parking to rear of the property, outdoor furniture. Sound of the river if windows are open can be loud, as are the quarterly church clock chimes - we loved this background noise but may disturb light sleepers/nervous dogs. Note - dogs not allowed upstairs. A haven in a gorgeous part of the UK. Hope to return to explore more!
Karl

Beautiful cottage. Lots of creature comforts and great hot tub.. Which was really appreciated after a hard day's walking! Fab location.. Walks from the door, pubs and restaurants close by. The steam flowing past makes this place so idyllic. Would love to come back one day.
Lowri
Wonderful house in a peacful location by the river but with everything we needed within walking distance - shops, cafes, pubs, restaurant and numerous walks. Could easily not use the car for the week. The garden is enclosed and was safe for our large dogs which meant we could leave the back door open for them to wander in and out without supervisio n. Everything is provided by the thoughtful owners, including a lovely welcome hamper. Highly recommended. Thank you for a peacful and restful week
Richard
The cottage was absolutely stunning and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hot-tub was great after a long walk and the beds all very comfortable. The cottage location was amazing, right beside the river and waterfall. Perfectly located in the middle of the village and ideal for walks around the Peak District. We are already lookin g to book a date to revisit Hayfield and Grotto House.

Grotto House is a lovely cottage set in a great location. It had everything we needed plus more, well equipped kitchen and utility room, good sized sitting room for a family of four, plus comfortable and cosy bedrooms. The goodie box was also a nice touch along with the fresh flowers. So nice having the little waterfall at the back door, with the d ucks always happy to see us. There was plenty of walks on the doorstep without having to take the car. Hot tub was great too after a long walk.
