This was a wonderful stay. It definitely exceeded our expectations! It was very clean and it had everything we needed and more. Would definitely recommend to other people and would love to book again.

Absolutely stunning and cosy place to stay! Me and my partner loved the stay at overlea barn, with everything you need to relax with your loved one. The Christmas tree was an amazing addition, which made it feel more like home and a well thought out welcome hamper was brilliant! The whole barn was clean and packed with high quality furnishings. Really great little property that had everything we needed for a week away. We loved the hot tub in the garden, especially at the end of a long day walking and although you are near other properties we never felt like we weren't in our own private space. Owner was really friendly and helpful. A great location for exploring the peak district and beyond.

If youre looking for a private getaway, then look no further! Overlea Barn is the most decadent little pocket of comfort and privacy any couple could ask for. We stayed over Christmas, which made it so much more special with a lovely real Christmas tree greeting us on arrival. The Barn is beautifully laid out to provide the ultimate in relaxation and coziness. We loved the log burner and took advantage of the additional bag of logs provided. The kitchen has all facilities you could need to rustle up any meal from scratch. Upstairs is equally as lush with a beautiful bedroom where you can wake up early to the hoots of owls and the calls of roosters cocks, and a very quaint bathroom where one of you can have a rainfall shower while the other enjoys a bubble bath! And Ive not even got to the hot tub, which, we have to say, was an absolutely must on Christmas morning with a glass of fizz. The hosts were super helpful and kept their distance save for checking the hot tub and garden in which their 4legged friend also came along to We would 100 recommend Overlea Barn and we will almost certainly be back!

A beautiful hidden gem. The Overlea Barn was cosy, clean very clean! and had everything we needed. The hot tub was an amazing added bonus. Alan was brilliant ahead of our stay, as it was my husbands 40th and he put a bottle of fizz in the fridge and I ordered some balloons, which Alan displayed for me. I will 100 recommend this place, and we will return for sure!

We cannot fault anything about our stay at over Lea barn. The accommodation is modern, clean and perfect for a get away. The hot tub was a great addition to the stay and the picturesque views top it off. Attention to detail was perfect, greeted by music playing, fresh eggs, bread and milk just all little touches that made it feel extra special. The area is secluded but only a few minutes drive to some unreal views. We will 100 be revisiting.

This property is as described and pictured on the website. Well appointed, beautifully decorated and furnished, and perfect for a cosy stay with all amenities within walking distance. Suitable for self catering, loved the coffee machine, and for eating out. Even enjoyed the board games on offer! The welcome pack of bread, milk, butter and biscuits were gratefully received, bed extremely comfortable, a really spacious property with the added benefit of a private hot tub. A good location to kick back and relax from everyday hectic lives. Hayfield has some fabulous places to eat The George served wholesome good food grub, make sure youre hungry if you choose the large option, Colosseo restaurant served really good Italian food with a great atmosphere, Id book at weekends, and The Packhorse Sunday roast definitely showed why they have been voted as No32 in The Top Gastropubs 2022, loved being able to choose oysters as a pre starter, all very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend this property, had an amazing long weekend!

Really great place just as described if not better than. Everything in the barn is high standard and the kitchen is well kitted out. The living area is comfortable with a log burner. The location is also good, its on a public footpath which was good for walking into new mills. There is also a bus that runs on the main road through to both new mills and hayfield. Would definitely come back and recommend to others!

Perfect place to unwind and enjoy the peace. Absolutely spotless and well equipped with great hosts. Great location for exploring the High Peaks, on the other hand a great place to stay home and enjoy the hot tub and watch the tv. We will return when we can find a dog sitter!

The owners have got everything just right. Excellent standard all round. A special benefit was the large bedroom with large windows giving cool air at night and so peaceful. Only slightly negative comment the track down to the farm could do with some attention though, in our experience is a common problem on farm entrances

The cottage is beautiful and superbly kitted out with everything you could ever possibly need. Wonderful hosts on hand to suggest a scenic walk but never imposing, make for a wonderful stay. The views from every window are breathtaking and the ever ready hot tub is pure bliss. Couldnt recommend or rate any higher.

We really enjoyed our stay in Overlea Barn. Beautifully decorated and so relaxing with a brilliant wood burner set up and ready to go when we arrived and great adjustable lighting and sound systemtv. It was immediately warm and welcoming to walk in. Having the tablet with useful links to activitieswalkspubs in the local area was really useful. Hot tub was great to use even in the cold weather! Set in a beautiful little garden that felt really private and scenic, it really felt like a retreat experience. Gorgeous hillside views from the large but cosy bedroom which had a great en suite with high quality bath and shower. Also, it was really well kitted out if you like to cook with everything you need including a great set of knives. Alan was friendly, available and helpful when needed. Well be back and highly recommend it.

A fabulous location a view from every window. Very comfortable property so quiet only the birdsong breaks the silence or the great Sonos sound system . Loads of walks from the doorstep. A lovely cottage, in a quiet location. Good location with walks available straight from the door, so can have no car days! Would have liked to have access to a washing machine, walking in the Peaks can get a bit muddy! Also the sofa could have been more comfortable for those nights in front of the wood burner. Overall though very clean, and cottage as described. Owner friendly but unobtrusive to let us enjoy our stay. Would stay here again.

Excellent property in a good location for those who want a walking holiday or simply rest and relax. The drive down to property and in particular the single farm track was a surprise that could be difficult to negotiate in icesnow conditions acknowledge that this wasnt a problem for us and that it may have been something I missed in the property details. A fantastic stay for new year! The cottage had everything we wanted and more. The location was superb, right next to the peak district. Would highly recommend.

Everything we needed for a magical Christmas break, second time we've stayed at Overlea Farm and won't be the last! The owners are incredibly helpful and attentive when required.

The house is luxurious and beautifully appointed. The Kitchen area and lounge had everything needed, Sonos, big screen TV, Netflix, big comfy sofa, etc. and a wonderful log burner. Upstairs the big bedroom and bathroom were equally special and of course a wonderful hot tub in a private area to sit and look at the stars and surrounding hills. In addition to all this the wonderfully decorated Christmas tree made it even more special. The area provides easy access to many wonderful walks, stunning countryside and lots of pubs and restaurants. We couldnt have been happier.

Everything we needed was at the cottage, it was a lovely location and very peaceful and private. The place was extremely clean and facilities were very good. Lots of lovely walks and trails around and would definitely recommend. Such a relaxing getaway!!

Heights of Abraham - DE4 3PT

about 24 Miles

This unique attraction combines an array of activities. If you have a look on their website there are some good video clips which give an even better idea of what this attraction is all about. Some of the highlights include the Cable Car system which is actually Britain's first alpine style cable car system. You are transported from the valley floor right up above where you can enjoy superb Dewent Valley Views. You can also stroll around 60 acres of wooded hillside on foot to see an array of birds and wildlife.

Gulliver's Kingdome - WA5 9YZ

about 24 Miles

Gulliver's Kingdome is a family friendly theme park offering many attractions for children of all ages. The site is rather unique and features a huge array of rides including log flumes, roller coasters and pirate ships. For the little ones there are rides such as the veteran cars and the balloon wheel and Diego and Dora the Explorer are on hand to make sure they are having a great time. Between the 21st and 31st of October the park becomes a spooky Halloween spectacular with a range of shows and fireworks to enjoy. Standard prices are £12.00 for adults and children over 90cm. Group booking discounts are available.

Gulliver's World Theme Park - WA5 9YZ

about 26 Miles

This is a very popular theme park with three different locations. The theme park in Warrington contains not only the theme park but also Gullivers Splash Zone and Gullivers Star Studios. The Solash Zone is a fully heated indoor water play factory fun for all ages which will appeal on rainy days. Throughout the year there are seasonal events too such as the Halloween and Fireworks event taking place from 23rd to 31st October. You can book online to save time and secure your tickets during busy periods. Over 50% of the rides are actually under cover so you don't need to worry about the British weather spoiling the fun.

Alton Towers - ST10 4DB

about 26 Miles

Of course you can't mention attractions in Staffordshire without featuring the fabulous Alton Towers theme park. The rides range from thrilling to quite simply terrifying although there are more gentle family rides for the little ones. All ages are catered for here. Some of the most famoue rides include Th13teen, Air, The Blade and Nemesis. There is also a waterpark on site for some splashtastic fun.
