Shepherds Hut Reviews

Little gem
We stayed here last week and we had a fantastic time, you have everything you need for a brilliant stay. The hut is stunning, the location is amazing, with the added extra of a hot tub looking at all the views ?? Thank you for a fab holiday, we will 100% be returning!
Not alot of room for our little dog, the photos show a large grassed area but it's not included in the rental. Woken up early every morning by cockrals. The cottage was freezing and only one radiator working. The window between the kitchen and toilet is intrusive watching someone sat on the toilet while cooking in the kitchen isnt nice. The out door shower doesn't work The hot tub was lovely and the place is very clean and well decorated
Lovely quirky Shepherds Hut lovely location fab hot tub for relaxing in all the bit you need for a relaxing getaway. We enjoyed ourselves.
Patricia
Lovely shepherds hut, hot tub was amazing especially on Christmas day and my husbands birthday. Owner very welcoming. The hut was very clean and cozy
Daniel
Brilliant stay comfy and clean. Bed so comfy and hot tub relaxing. Have recommended. Only point I would make would be maybe a lamp in the lounge area as all lights can be bright later at night. But overall amazing thanks
Jackson
It was a lovely little hut which we were comfortable in, stunning views of the beautiful scenery around us, plenty to do nearby. We went to see the gardens and went to Cannock forest with our huskies. The hot tub was great to get into after walking all day. We would highly recommend to anyone and we will be coming back ourselves.
Gordon
A lovely, cosy little hut. We had the perfect week here for our anniversary. It had everything we needed and the hot tub was a major plus! Everything was within a 10 minute drive with lots of different places to eat, drink and get any bits & bobs you may need. The view is spectacular especially at night. Well worth a visit.
Melanie
We loved staying here. Very minimal and small but a great experience. Its in the middle of nowhere with hens and cows as neighbours. The hot tub was a perfect bonus and we really utilised it by using it every day, this was a great addition to the property. We loved the big windows in the lounge kitchen area which looked into the chicken enclosure and made you feel like you were in there with them. It was dog friendly too which was ideal as we came away with our fur baby! One of the best UK stays we have ever done! If you get a chance its a must go to! All the local area is stunning and great for outdoorsy adventure minded people!
Pros Beautiful location, very comfortable bed, lovely surroundings. Very friendly neighbor. Hot tub was very clean. The facility was very clean and well kept and we felt very safe and content. Cons Bathroom is way too small and you are not able to close the door and that makes you visible if anyone is in the chicken field. To stop this being as much of an issue there could be some blinds fitted on the front doors. Parasol is needed to go over the hot tub. Outside seating needs updating. Lounge sofa is very small for two people. TV wouldn't work for us. Hot tub and the shower need to be more private. Gate didn't lock.
Nathan
Beautiful location and surroundings. Cosy and clean .
Was a excellent experience and will be back again in the future. Thank you for everything
Stayed for a week . Lovely time . No complaints . Thank you . Beautiful views and fantastic weather so hot the outdoor shower was a god send !
Mitchell
Couldnt have been a better experience, the host that met us was extremely friendly as well,
Everything great except the cockerels calling out at sunrise. Otherwise lovely hut and amenities in a stunning setting.
Me and my partner had a lovely couple of nights here. Such a cute little cabin, even got a complimentary bottle of Prosecco in the fridge which I found a lovely add!! The hot tub is absolutely amazing at the end of the day!! The view is amazing to wake up to in the morning too! We live in a city so it was lovely to get away from all the business. We loved that we could bring our puppy with us although We didnt know there was chickens from the listing but thankfully our dog wasnt too bad. The only thing I could even say is it stopped us having a lie which would have been nice as we had a couple nights off being woke up by a toddler however it definitely did not ruin our weekend, would definitely recommend staying here, my daughter would have loved it also
What an amazing remote stay for myself and my partner! We absolutely loved the location, and the hot tub certainly was the finishing touch we so needed! We managed to sample a few of the local places that were recommended to eat and enjoyed a lovely long walk to the centre of Rugeley. We spoke with Elliott upon arrival who was really welcoming and showed us how to use the hot tub. We were then left to our own devices which is what we wanted from our stay. Absolutely will be back again and could not recommend this place enough!!
Wow what a fantastic time we had. We stayed for 3 nights for our minimoon the hut was beautiful and clean, the views are spectacular. 10mins walk into the village to the Greyhound pub for drinks, we also booked a meal at the Ye Olde Dun Cow which was amazing. We don't drive so enjoyed lots of walking including a 45min walk into Rugeley for the day. Hot tub just topped it all off it was great so relaxing. We will hopefully be back for our 1st anniversary next year.
Amazing place in such a peaceful area loved every second will definitely be back! !
Had a lovely stay in the shepherd's hut. Peaceful, comfortable with amazing views day & night. Our stay went far to quickly! We would happily book again & recommend to friends.

Great location, good facilities, perfect for a couple on a weekend break
Andrew
Stopped in shepherds hut over new year for 2 days views and hot tub were amazing watching the fireworks on New Years Eve from the hot tub . Went to the greyhound pub which is a 15 minute walk made very welcome by the landlord and landlady all the customers very friendly made us feel we were park of the village and the pub is dog friendly as well also nice walks for the dog near by . Will definitely be recommending to friends and family many thanks.
Lovely small hut, very warm and cosy no matter what the weather. Loved it when it rained, loved it when it was dry. Hot tub made my trip and the view was stunning.
Gorgeous little place so relaxing and cosy with gorgeous views!
Amazing little gem of a place, very tiny inside but we have managed and loved living a more simple life for the week. We have loved every minute and would definitely come back!
What a wonderful place
Patrick
We had a fantastic stay at The Shepherds Hut and have already booked another visit for December. The hut is small, but cosy and well set up. The outdoor area is great with the incredible views, relaxing hot tub, and invigorating outdoor shower. We also loved the surrounding area and found some great walks as well as excellent dog friendly pubs for nice lunches.
A perfect little getaway. Lovely views and the hot tub was fabulous. The village was just a short walk away with a couple of pubs, we particularly enjoyed our meal in Ye old dun cow. Charlie greeted us upon arrival he was super friendly and helpful and gave us plenty of recommendations of things to do locally. The hut itself was great and well facilitated. We stayed for a week and were very comfortable and had everything we needed. The cockerels in the morning didnt bother us personably being city dwellers we were just happy to be out in beautiful surroundings. A wonderful and relaxing stay, we would definitely recommend!
The place is nice, a bit small but that was expected. Totally unbearable with the heat though. The size of the place together with the construction of it tin roof, metal walls and ,large windows without propper blinds and facing the sun most of the day meant that inside the cabin was a good 7c hotter than it was outside. I understand it was hot weather when we went but it was 40c inside that is from the reading on the thermometer provided when we arrived. We had to leave on the first night as both of us were unwell in this level of heat. My partner was sick and i had to sit under a cold shower at one point so that i wouldnt pass out. Fans were provided for the cabin but in 40c heat this didn't help at all. There really needs to be something else in place for warmsummer weather as in its current condition it is dangerous in that kind of weather.
Andrew
Amazing place, so peaceful and such loverly views
The holiday property was immaculately clean. Many facilities that were needed were available. Lovely extras including the hot tub, day bed and lovely huge bath.
It was amazing was thoroughly looked after
Tracey
We had a lovely time at the shepherds hut. It is a great little hide away, peace a quiet a great place to relax and unwind, will definitely recommend.
We have just returned from our stay at Shepard's Hut, what a wonderful stay it was! We loved our get away from start to finish. The hut was beautiful and the garden was lovely, with the added extra of the hot tub of course. The only bit of feedback, is the outside freezer should be a full size fridge freezer, as the fridge inside is not big enough to put drinks and food and we had lovely weather so was having to keep our drinks in the freezer.
Kaeley
Our stay was fantastic! It is in the most beautiful location and mostly hidden from the farmhouse. The hut has everything you need, and views are just great. Highly recommend this little gem.
We had a lovely quiet break here, all you could here was birdsong, & bees flying by, sitting in the hot tub looking at the scenery of Staffordshires rolling hills was beautiful just to take in whilst chilling in the tub. Heaven to me , the chickens in the field opposite kept us & our dog entertained , the cockerels doing their morning call didnt really bother us, whilst we were there it was hot weather thats a good thing , but inside was stiflingly hot though the thermometer did read 38 at one point, all I can suggest more fans maybe and as I wrote down in your visitors book, a larger or all in one fridge freezer as the ones that are there not big enough to hold much food or drink , bar that we had a lovely time, I would come back again & recommend to others.
Lauren
We loved our stay! The hut was lovely and in a great location. I assumed that the field on the picture was also accessible in our stay and it wasnt which was disappointing as would have been great for our dog so my only feedback would be to make this clear. Would recommend
Philip
A fantastic place, in a great location provided by some lovely people.
Nirvana
We had the best time, it was just what we needed to switch off from busy city life! ! Loved waking up to the chickens, the hut provided us with everything we needed, it had a lovely homely feeling, and we really just appreciated the remoteness and being able to relax in the hot tub on an evening watching the sunset over the valley and watching the stars at night! It was a lovely little haven x
I enjoyed every second of my stay, it was amazing! The best weekend Ive ever had and the owners was so lovely too. Ill be returning once or twice a year at least
