Everything was absolutely perfect. No complaints at all.
Christopher
We had a fabulous stay over Christmas 2023, the place was spotless and the kitchen was equipped beyond what we needed to cook a full Christmas dinner. It is easy to find and quiet. We would definitely stay again.
Katrina
Great property. Very comfortable. Hot tub was nice to have. Location was really convenient for heading into Durham and exploring the wider area.

Fantastic place to stay. Really clean and tidy, spacious, had everything you need and in a great location. I couldnt recommend this place highly enough to anyone looking at staying there and will definitely be going back myself!
Gavin
Comfortable quiet property which had everything we needed for a small break. Ideal for visiting children at Durham Uni away from the hurly-burly of the city.
Birgit
The location is great for dog walks and its very quiet. Ideal for trips into Durham. It was our second stay. We love the hot tub to relax after walks. The beds are a bit on the small side and a few more cooking utensils would have been useful.
Mary
Really well presented, with everything we needed for a happy, comfortable holiday. Excellent location for exploring the North East.
Heather
It was a great place to stay, very peaceful and the dogs had loads of space. It had everything we needed.
Helen
Very clean property, excellent beds , tragic pillows, excellent bathroom and toilet, sofas far too small for any comfort, two two seaters, need side tables. Garden great and lots of parking, disappointing view, large barns and lots of machinery etc, and really shocked to actually have to go through farm yard.
Jeanne
An excellent accomodation and we look forward to booking it again
Debra
Overall the barn is very nice and well equipped but let down in a couple of areas such as the king size bed is very uncomfortable and the pillows are tragic Im afraid. The rug in the lounge has some very unsightly stains on it (rather get rid completely) and someone elses dog mess in the garden isnt acceptable at all. We had a good break but for th e money involved expected a higher standard.
Michelle
Highly recommend this place for a lovely retreat away, barn was amazing , hot tub and log fire was a bonus
Veronica
The property is excellent with loads of space both inside and out. Our dog loved the secure garden and the wood store. Its set in a lovely farm with loads of walks locally.
Hayley
A lovely place to stay, very close to nearby towns, seaside trips to Hartlepool, castles and day trips to explore Durham city etc. Cottage itself was very clean and tidy with all the things you need to make it home from home. The garden is very secure and was the perfect size for our cockapoo. (Owners of very small dogs (dashound/chihuahua etc) be careful as they may be able to wriggle under the main gate). Would definitely recommend the cottage and would return. A great place to relax.
Emma
A beautiful property in a lovely location. Well finished and the hot tub was very relaxing. Plenty of space both in and outside the property. The garden is very dog friendly and safe. We had a great time and would happily recommend to others.
Bob
Fantastic cottage, we stayed here for a week (2 adults and 2 kids and 1 small dog) perfect size garden for our dog and all safe so couldnt get out, hot tub is fantastic, we had some great days out as it was very central to Newcastle, Sunderland etc, we all loved staying there and would 100% go back again.
Nicola
fantastic stay, beautiful place, very clean, all the home comforts. ideal for the dog as fully enclosed garden. hot tub is just lovely, never been in a wood fired one before, was a real treat. we went when was extremely hot but can imagine lovely and cosy in the winter with the log burner.
Amanda
So on first impression its a large place and looks great, parking is good and you have your own garden which is fenced in if you have a dog. Beds were reasonably comfy but pillows were very thin and only one each, which wouldnt be good for most people. Well equipped with crockery and glasses and cooking utensils if you want to eat in. Ironing board and iron, clothes airer and vacuum cleaner available. Good bathroom but shower pressure a bit poor, the en suite is only a sink and toilet.
Lauren
The main thing I liked about this cottage it was spacious, the whole cottage was clean and the views out past the farm land on a night were stunning. We went away as a group of 4 and we all agreed it was the perfection location to get away. The hot tub was definitely a hidden extra but would recommend contacting the owner prior arrival to fill. We will definitely be returning to this cottage later in the summer! Thank you again
Jeanette
Absolutely lovely stay, cottage was lovely and clean, in very rural location, and hot tub was a good added bonus, it does take quite a few hours to heat up to decent temp, so be prepared to keep stoking the fire and filling with wood, (it took us approx 6hrs), spa slippers and dressing gowns were a nice touch. it has everything you need for a pleas ant stay, so many things to see and do within a short drive. We visited the lovely Barnard Castle and Durham NT coastline.
Peter
Beautiful cottage, lovely friendly owner! Loved touches like the candles, the full log baskets, throws to snuggle up with etc. Really well equipped! Would like to have given 4.9 for comfort as cottage really is cosy and perfect, but not much sleep had as mattress was a bit hard for me, but that was the only negative & I guess that's personal choice . Otherwise, just a wonderful stay. Would definitely recommend!
Joanne
Excellent stay, lovely property, quiet and detached, really enjoyed our stay. We took our Cockapoo, it was a very dog friendly place, enclosed garden, very secure and lovely walks on the doorstep. Very nice host too, friendly and keen to make sure we had everything we needed. Will definitely recommend to others and will come again.

Go Ape Northumberland - NE48 1NT
about 25 Miles
Go Ape! has really taken off and become one of the most popular attractions in the UK.  The Northumberland course is set in the stunning grounds of Matfin Hall.  Described as a high wire forest adventure this really is one for the more daring as the course takes place right up in the tree tops.  Giant tree top obstacle courses include ladders, bridges, tunnels and some of the country's best zip lines.  You will be provided with all safety equipment and training on site.
Big Sheep - EX39 5AP
about 28 Miles
This is a recommended day out for families with young children visiting the Bedale area of Yorkshire.  Visit the farm and receive a warm welcome as well as a guided tour.  You will have the chance to bottle feed the lambs, bath a pig and handle some of the smaller animals.  Kids will love the big sandpit and the outdoor play area. There is also a cafe and indoor play area for when the weather is not on your side.
