Coney Garth Cottage Reviews

Andrew
Located on the edge of the village, the property is within walking distance of the village pub, which serves good beer and great food, the cottage is clean and tidy with all the amenities that you need, the hot tub is a welcome bonus. We walked along the coast to St Bees which was nice. The hosts were really nice and even brought us freshly baked scones and tried to help as much as possible when the electric started to go off due to storm Debi.
We loved our stay at Coney Garth Cottage! Very clean, had all the utensils you needed for self catering. The host, Julie was very welcoming, friendly and recommended places to visit. We will be back! Thank you Kate & Wiktor

Wow, this cottage was just beautiful, the quality of everything was totally 1st class. The whole place was immaculate and it had everything you could possibly need . There are no shops in the village so make sure you take supplies though Julie had very kindly provided wine and cookies, also homemade cake and scones mid week which were delicious. I can not recommend this cottage enough and we will definitely be back . Thank you Julie x

This is a beautiful charming cottage and the perfect place to come back to after a day exploring the lakes! !!! We stayed for 3 nights and it felt like home from the second we arrived after receiving a lovely welcome from the owners. The facilities are great with a well equipped kitchen for those evenings cooking and lazy breakfasts. Hot tub is perfect after a long day exploring and nice and private. The bottle of fizz provided was a perfect touch. Nice outside seating area to enjoy a peaceful morning coffee or enjoy a book too. The owners also have lots of information available to you for things to do and places to eat around the local area and are more than happy to help you with anything. I can't rate this highly enough and can't find any faults at all with it. 1010 and would 100 stay again.

Lovey cottage set in a beautiful little town. The cottage was spotlessly clean and well laid out with washing machine, dishwasher and two bathrooms with 2 teenagers thats a must. Decorated to a high standard and with lots of little touches to make it feel special. We all loved the hot tub which was a really nice addition to the cottage. Hosts Julie & Geoff were amazing, with lots of advice on things to do, and some special treats when we arrived including a bottle of bubbly!! Julie also brought some delicious home made scones and cakes one of the afternoons which was a lovely touch. A short walk from the cottage, we ate twice in the local pub where they served lovely food. Highly recommend staying here, we all had a very relaxing break and would definitely go back again.

Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 19 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 21 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 23 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 23 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.
