Lake Lodge Studio Reviews

We had a great stay at this property and can highly recommend. It was small and compact as expected but had everything needed and was ideal for a couple with a dog having an enclosed garden. The hot tub was fantastic with views up the fell. Just a few minutes drive from Bowness and Windermere with easy access to the ferry for exploring the other side of the lake. The owner was lovely and very helpful.
Absolutely loved it so comfy what a beautiful place to stay. The hot tub was amazing and Judy was lovely always there if we needed anything. Little personal touches too this was our 1st wedding anniversary too beautiful surroundings too would definitely go back
Lovely studio as described, welcoming host, would love to return
Stanley
My girlfriend and I absolutely adored the property, everything inside was perfect and the surrounding area is gorgeous. The host was very friendly and super accommodating. Would highly recommend.
Absolutely fantastic little gem of a place. Judy the host was very warm , welcoming and helpful . The studio was exactly as advertised but the pictures cant do this lovely little haven justice . Myself and my 10 month old doggy cant describe what a wonderful time we had at lake lodge studio !!!! Very near to the hustle and bustle of bowness, however far enough away to enjoy the tranquility of the fells and and amazing views of the lake xxx The Hot tub is such a luxurious bonus and beautifully placed in the spacious fully enclosed dog proof garden . Only 1 very tiny improvement for me personally would be a small freezer for ice cream etc . But this does not detract from how wonderful this place and the host is xx Thank you to lake lovers and especially to Judy for listing this property for me to share
We were very satisfied with the property. The location was great, the surrounding area was very pretty and well maintained, The property had everything that we needed for our stay, The hot tub which was available for our use was fantastic. We met the owner of the property, she was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again if we visit the Lake District again.
Great cosy little apartment in a great location.
Alison
Lovely cosy cottage, fab garden for the dog! Just in need of a little TLC. Paint work, conservatory is lovely but pvc needs a good clean! I wouldn't stay again as a little too far out for us. But if was closer to Windermere 100 yes ! I would suggest a little vacuum or something just for guest to keep carpets clean, especially when having a dog! I cleaned up but felt guilty for dog hairs on rug!
A bit disappointed over all , the location is a very steep twisty drive, then the lodge is basically a basement in a house, to which you have to duck under a bridge to gain access too , couldnt really make a meal with the cooking facilities available or limited at least as there's no proper oven shower was awful, The hot tub was decent under the stars, but the decked steps are an accident waiting to happen overall definitely not worth anywhere near the price.

We had a nice stay in difficult circumstances after my mum died a few days prior to our arrival. We've stayed here a few times now and really enjoy the location and hot tub. What we weren't so happy about was the way in which lakelovers handled the situation. I made a request to amend the dates last minute, not expecting this to be acceptable but felt it was worth asking, explaining I was caring for my mum as she received hospice care at home. The initial copy and paste reply I received to my message was, I feel, insensitive in the circumstances. I explained that Beth would use the property if we could not change dates but I would not be able to. Circumstances changed quickly so, after discussing with my family, we decided to travel a day later. On arrival we were told that the owner had checked with lakelovers and been told we were not coming. This hadn't been checked with me at all and was contrary to my message, so the heating had been turned off and though it was rectified immediately and caused us no further issue I feel a message to check our plans would have been more appropriate. I will avoid using Lakelovers in future.
Adriana
Amazing place running by lovely lady. The studo was wonderful and cosy. Everything was prepared for us and our doogs.
Andrew
It was a lovely cosy property in a great location would definitely recommend
This property was just like the pictures and description on the website. The facilities were clean and tidy on arrival and the host was available at all times. We loved our greeting from the hosts four legged companion every time we returned to the property. The hot tub was available at all times. It was slightly over filled but that problem was quickly solved. The only improvement could be freezer space for ice blocks and ice cream and a firmer mattress. We would return here. The location is perfect.
Stuart
Location is perfect, had a warm welcome upon arrival. The facilities were excellent and just a short drive to Windermere. We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend. Hoping to return in 2023.
Lovely spot for couples in the Lakes, close to Bowness but also far enough away to allow a relaxing break and chill out. Dog friendly and stunning countryside on your door step. We loved it.
Loved the place . Ideal base to get about the lakes and slightly further a field .
Claire
We have just returned from a lovely stay in the studio. The studio is very cosy. Lovely comfortable bed. Very dog friendly with an enclosed garden. The hot tub is amazing and very relaxing. Great hosts who left a birthday card and chocolates for my birthday, very kind thought. Theres a lovely walk to do at the back of the studio which provides great views of the lake. Bowness is a lovely little place with lovely shops to browse in, also lovely pubs and restaurants. We had a fabulous time and would highly recommend.
Philip
Small but cosy. Radiator didn't work in bathroom or large radiator in room Just small 1 worked in kitchen bit disappointed there was no cooker just microwave and fridge didn't have small freezer box as we'd took pizzas to cook and things to freeze but that wasn't a problem we managed and stayed in conservatory were it was nice and warm. But on our 2nd night the electric went off and it was freezing we went to see caretaker she said it would be on about 9 she came back at 9 and said owners said power will on be back on on Tuesday or Wednesday as it was Monday morning with no heating and no way to cook or make a drink we said its OK we'd go home instead she said get intouch you'd get a refund for the 2 nights we weren't staying but when we got in touch was told power had come back on later that day so wasn't allowed a refund
Lovely little studio, very cosy and the owners gave us a very warm welcome. Beautiful area and views and the hot hub is brilliant. Even got to enjoy some F15 jets some days as they occasionally practise low fly exercises over the lakes.
Very clean and beautiful lodge, they owners were delightful, very helpful and made us feel very welcome. I would highly recommend staying here.
Great wee studio flat, weather wasnt a problem for us being Scottish, only ... Great wee studio flat, weather wasnt a problem for us being Scottish, only draw back would be the distance to nearest village with no footpaths

Lovely lady who owned the property, nice hot tub and the view from a few minutes walk out the back outstanding

Joanne
Lovely and cosy love the hot tub
Graham
It needs to be clearly stated that this small room is mainly for dog lovers, as it smelled of wet dog , the hot tub was great but unfortunately the conservatory and the tub were overlooked by a joining property, so much so I could hear them at breakfast and felt we couldn't go outside. All in all it wasn't worth the 500 that I payed.
Just a lovely mini break for the two of us and our Westie. provided facilities were fabulous and well maintained. Lovely greeting Garden and hot tub clean and was well used by us. Will book again as we enjoyed it so much Sue Ray and Bonnie
Rebekka
What a fantastic place to stay. ...so clean, such friendly staff and the hot tub was a huge added bonus. We will definitely come again.
We were very pleased with our accommodation the hot tub was a lovely addition. Along with all of the emails you send prior to holidays it would be helpful for people to understand the situation for eating out in Bowness and Ambleside. Its practically impossible to go out as we used to and eat casually. Some places insist on bookings some nights but not others and I have never been anywhere else in the world where tables are empty but places wont let you sit and eat. Us and many others were walking around literally for hours just to find food.
The studio was lovely. Big enough for 2 adults with 2 dogs. The hot tub was great. Especially after a long walk. The property is at the top of a hill and had parking available for us. We were able to take the dogs to the woods nearby but the walk back up the hill to the studio could be a challenge for some. The studio had everything we needed. The bed was comfy and the conservatory was lovely to sit in at the end of the day. The owner was lovely and ensured we had everything we needed. The dogs enjoyed roaming in the enclosed garden area. Would definitely recommend.
Steven
Stunning property and fantastic location. Will defo be back, fantastic stay!!! Steve
Caroline
A very tranquil location. Everything we needed. Fantastic hottub. Will definitely return. Not an issue for us, but a mention in the listing about the steps. Although not many or steep, may be an issue for less able visitors.
For the money we paid 529 for 4 nights. .this was no way acceptable for the accommodation....It really does need a complete refurbish. It was very shabbynot dirty.Just because it accepts dogs doesn't mean it has to be like this. From the car to the property is only accessible by steps so we, in our 60's,struggled.On the plus side the garden was lovely and the hot tub was too, and the environment was really nice..The lady who owns this property was very friendly.
Adrian
Very helpful hosts and Great Doggy friendly place. Would definitely return
Hosts were lovely. We had an issue when we first got there and they couldn't have sorted it out quicker. Absolutely first class. If I'm honest the studio is ready for some investment but it's pleasant.
Xander
Absolutely brilliant place to say. Owner is absolutely lovely too. The one thing that needs to improve is possibly the shower.
Mr Waters
Lovely relaxing stay and accommodation and hot tub a treat . Gorgeous The Lake District

Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 8 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 11 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 14 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 14 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 17 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 26 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
