Lower Lake View Reviews

Great property to stay in during snow storm. Clean and exactly as is shown on photos. Keys were not left in said location and had to wait about 45 mins to get someone to come and deliver them. Apart from that it was a great stay.
This is an amazing place to stay , the view of the lake is amazing , the boat ... This is an amazing place to stay , the view of the lake is amazing , the boat jetties with the kayaks was good to , I took the kayaks out a couple of times , I recommend you take a paddle cord with you though, as if an inexperienced person was to take them out and dropped the paddle they would find it difficult to retrieve , hot tub was amazing lovely and warm ,all cooking equipment was more that adequate, if you need a drink and dont wish to drive there are plenty of taxi services available and most know where your located ,I recommend a swim in the lake also , if your not a strong swimmer you can stand up around the jetties but I recommend swimming shoes , I feel so relaxed after my stay ,and would recommend Lower Lake vie to anyone ,i fact I have to a few family and friends already , many thanks
The property was fantastic had everything you needed. the view was amazing. Would definitely come again, 1010.

Good points Location is 2nd to none. Travelled all over the UK staying in similar types of property, lake windemere is up there with the best of them. The property is clean, had everything we needed for what we hoped would be a relaxing stay. The complaints about the fan are ridiculous, there is a tablet next to it with the Dyson app on it or you download it to your smart phone. Very reasonable price for what you get in return. Bad points Arrived 15 minutes early to pick up the keys after a 7 hour drive up from the south east and was made to feel like we were asking for an extra day for free....... not a great start. Even offered to sit outside for 15 minutes. Get any ideas out of your head about being able to stay at the property and relax. The cleaner and hottub maintenance chap seem to be always at the property. There are lovely floor to ceiling electric blinds which when opened give you a fantastic view. Unfortunately we had to leave them closed to try and retain some privacy. My partner didnt really want to use the hottub as its checked every single day which seems ridiculous. She didnt want to be sat in there with some stranger just walking in. This is the only place we've stayed at in the UK with a hottub that has done this and seems obsessive. Likewise the cleaner seemed to be there every single day we were. This may not have been the case but again, its a self catering property, seems ridiculous that the cleaner is there so much. After the first night we were emailed and asked to give a First night review which I marked as adequate because of the privacy issues. I then had to email the office to tell them to leave us alone because we started getting phone calls and emails because of the adequate rating. Certainly won't be coming back to this property. Its not the first time we have used Sykes and had no issues at the last place we stayed at at all.
Andrew
An absolutely fantastic place to stay with amazing views. Quality fixtures and fittings which made the stay luxurious. Hot tub was an added extra and after days out was a very relaxing feature.
The accommodation was excellent, although it was a really hot week and with windows that did not open the Dyson fan could not be turned down and was too noisy to use. An umbrella would have been great on the hot tub area as it was far too hot to sit outside. But overall I would highly recommend it as everything was to a very high standard.
Deborah
An amazing weeks holiday in a quality apartment in a stunning location. Our stay from start to finish was first class. Views, sunsets, hot tub, comfy bed everything was 10 out of 10.
Rebecca
Amazing property, beautiful scenery. Will definitely be booking again!
2nd time staying at lower lake & it was as wonderful as the 1st time! Sparkling clean, beautiful location & everything you need for a relaxing trip. We will be returning again for our 1st wedding anniversary.
Andrew
Absolutely amazing accommodation and views breathtaking. We stay in the lakes about 8 times a year but now we have been spoiled it would be difficult to book anywhere else. We would love to return to any of the accommodation on this beautiful site.
Lovely high quality apartment, spotlessly clean, hot tub checked every morning, excellent service all round.
Anthony
Absolutely loved the apartment, the view was amazing and everything was immaculately clean! The hot tub was great and it was really handy having a coffee machine. I put 34 for comfort because the heated flooring didnt seem to work, the tiles were cold. Perhaps I operated the thermostat wrong but the instructions referred to a dial but there was a panel with buttons, so just guessed what I had to do. The pillows were way too soft, when you lay your head on them they squash down to almost nothing. We could have done with some basic supplies such as sugar, oil, butter and teabags. Other than those fairly minor points this was an amazing place to stay, thank you!
Gerard
I'm sorry to say we just hated. ....that our wonderful week of relaxation, clean air, breathtaking views, and so much silence it hurt our ears, was over!! Appointed to a very high standard and spotlessly clean, underfloor heating that welcomes and warms you from the moment you arrive, simply Heaven! Love the hot tub, but cover can be a little heavy to replace if only one person my wife is disabled, so unfortunately can't assist!. But that's a minor point. Secure parking and electric charging facilities a plus, as we have a hybrid car. All in all, somewhere to unwind and recharge if life is hectic. This was our 2nd time, and we will return just like Arnie
Stephen
The settee that is in the property was a welcome surprise compared to the two chairs in the photo on the listing. It might be worth changing the wording on the listing regarding the EV charging which is basically a waterproof 13A socket,It caught me out as I was expecting a proper charger.
Really great property, stunning views, superb facilities. Only issues for me were finding it in the dark and would recommend flip flops for getting tofrom hot tub.
Absolutely speechless
Amazing property, comfortable with all amenities you could need. Definitely staying again
The apartment was beautiful together with the views. The chairs in the lounge not really comfortable and would suggest a two seater sofa also. The apartment upstairs was the only annoying issue as walking around upstairs was loud downstairs which may be due to the flooring in the upstairs apartment.
Hi just a couple of points. The office to pick up key is not opposite the Windermere Hotel. Give an address and small photo of offices. We were there 3 days before the housekeeper told us about tablechairs that were down beside lake for our private use. The accommodation is finished to a high spec BUT the two swivel chairs provided in lounge area are not in anyway way comfortable my partner developed a severe back strain from using them. We understand the owners are providing a settee but too late for our stay. In fact we cut the holiday short mainly because of that and it was far from a romantic break!!
Howard
An absolutely fantastic property, fitted with high spec contents throughout, you are doing a wonderful job! our only negative feedback is the pillows were far to soft, maybe a selection of pillows would be an extra touch.
An excellent property, in an ideal location. Close enough to walk into Bowness, ideal centrally for accessing the Lakes in generral. The access to the kayack was a complete bonus and something to certainly take dvantage of and use. Would definitely book again!!
Stephen
Good points Property is in a great location right on the lake. Good taxi services to and from towns. Key areas of interest all reachable Hot tub clean although cant view the lake when in it. Bad points No welcome pack, milk or teabags bread etc. Living room area is not very cosy as just has 2 separate chairs to sit on, no sofa. Wasnt made clear that there is an apartment above so noise can be an issue. Lots of people driving in and out the property in the early mornings cleaners and hot tub checks etc so not very peaceful some mornings.
Lauren
Property was stunning, right near the town centre. Would definitely stay again
Rubbish access to the property, had to shunt our vehicle several times to park in the allocated parking space, we was in a lower apartment, and had 2 lots of couples above, very noisy, could here every footstep, and for some reason the second couple that arrived on the Sunday evening, decided to rearrange the furniture by dragging it. Went on for ages then they went out and came back later and carried on with moving the furniture. We live in a detached property, and so not used to having to deal with that. If we had not have had a drink we would have come home earlier.
Heather
A spotless cottage and fabulous hot tub with a good view of Windermere. Remember access gained by the door tucked around the right hand side Lovely bedroom and ensuite all modern but lacked a cosy feel in the main living area. A few elements that I would expect for a 5 rating cottage require addressing Smart tvs not very smart when not connected to the WiFi due to incorrect WiFi information but was soon sorted out. Quooker tap do not work but kettle was provided Lights to the hot tub requires sorting, on a evening please watch the last step it is not well lit, when you go onto the Hot tub level. Electric gates at the top became a challenge to open in windy weather we had to get help to hold the gates open a known problem that requires sorting No welcome pack of goodies in the cottage, not even a pint of milk. It is the first cottage we have had that did not provide this and we have multiple cottage throughout the uk The service from Lake Cottage holidays was outstanding the call the following day of arrival to check everything was ok was a surprise I wish other cottage companies would do the same.
Deborah
Absolutely fantastic apartment and location. The only criticism would b that it wasnt made clear when choosing the property that there is an apartment above. That said, I would stay again.
Lower Lake View was amazing. The property is finished to a high spec and is spotless. Great views of the lake and the Hot Tub was a real luxury. The customer service from Sykes was great from start to finish, all the staff lovely from key collection to drop off, checking in to makes sure everything was ok. Special mention to the cleaner who was super friendly and does a fantastic job! Definitely recommend a stay here and will hopefully be going back again!
Gerard
Apologies for not reviewing this superb property sooner! A little difficult to find from the road if arriving after dark. But once found, all will be forgiven! Adequate secure parking, with electric charging points if required. Excellent underfloor heating, an important aspect if staying in winter as we did. Spotlessly cleaned by 2 very pleasant young ladies we met during our stay. Kitted out with anything and everything you could possibly require for a comfortable stay. Lovely jacuzzi maintained on a daily basis. Though only the 2 of us, we enjoyed a fine New Year celebration and a wonderful week. Returning soon!
Overall, after trying to get through the storm the property was perfect. The only thing I will say is there was no back up for a powercut, electric blinds meant no visibility inside and electric gates meant no access by car, a problem with a lot of luggage. But had the storm no have hit these wouldnt be issues. Fantastic property overall. Met the cleaners as well who were lovely!
Joanna
Even though it stated a ground floor apartment, we were unaware that there was accommodation above us. If we had realised this, we would have selected another property. As a result of this, we experienced noise from the people above us that was intrusive on more than one occasion. We contacted Sykes to make them aware. As the holiday was about rest for us, we found, on a daily basis, that various workmen were onsite with loud machinery.
The privacy of the hot tub and the stunning views of lake Windermere. Property finished to a very high standard and very hi tech. Cutlery in the secret draw which caught us out. But its just above the plates and cups draw which you pull out. Loved every minute of our stay, very relaxing. Spa bath and shower excellent, as was curved TVs both smart TVs. The Samsung tablet was handy for checking places out and taxis. Highly recommended. Staff who were around every day were fantastic. Hot tub was checked every day.
Danica
Really good stay would recommend. Clean and done to a really high spec. Really safe and secure. Great addition to have a space on the lake to enjoy drinks and use of the kayaks.
Amazing apartment secure gated entrance, beautiful setting with views of Windermere, modern interior with hot tub outside. We were so impressed and cant wait to go back. The soundproofing for the apartment upstairs could be better but not a huge problem in our opinion
Superb week away exceeded our expectations. Stunning place. We will be booking again. This property is a credit to the owner. The staff are very welcoming and keep the property very well maintained. Dorothy is a absolute gem to the grounds and also looking after guests and propertys
The air vent was making noises throughout the night which did effect us getting a good night sleep, but we was also not aware that people would be above us, also on their holiday which made it difficult to sleep is regards to noises late in the evening and early morning.
Cottage is amazing, lovely and clean and to a very high standard it is a credit to the owner and to the 2 x staff that were on site, friendly and helpful, work is on going at moment on surrounding properties but did not worry me at all, i will be booking again, thank you for such a lovely place.

Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 8 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 11 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 14 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 14 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 17 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 27 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
