What a wonderful house to holiday in! Photographs dont do it justice, very spacious, light & airy, equipped with everything you could want. Bathrooms beautifully done, lounge great for movie viewing on a wet night. The smart tvs in every room satisfied our 19 year old & the hot tub was voted the best feature by us all, we were in every day regardle ss of the weather. Thanks for a really comfortable stay!

The best holiday home we have ever stayed in. It was beautiful and we were all wowed when we first walked in. It is so spacious, luxurious and beautifully decorated. The owners have thought of everything even down to bath toys and a gruffalow towel for children. Everyone had their own space and privacy. There is a lovely garden and ample, easy park ing. Beautiful house with great views of the creek, boats or meadows from every window. Great layout with lots of space, bathrooms and an enclosed garden with hot tub. This property has everything and more, its lovely inside and out. The main living room has more than enough seating and a separate room for the boys who want to watch something else (sport). The kitchen is well equipped. The hot tub is great. The owners thought of everything we could possibly need for our stay, from shower gel, liquid soap, dishwas her tablets, washing up liquid and coffee pods. The owners who live opposite made us very welcome. Needless to say we will be returning.

We loved our stay at Anchorsholm. Peter and Vera are wonderful hosts who not only manage a beautiful holiday home but have curated a truly magnificent home from home. The kitchen was very well equipped and the furnishings added to the ambiance. The house is located in a quiet spot in the village with a friendly local serving proper pub grub a short walk away. There was plenty to do. Blackpool was in easy reach but so was Liverpool, Manchester and the Lakes (along with everything in between).

The whole cottage has been recently and beautifully renovated by Vera and Peter who are friendly and helpful hosts. There is a stylish and well equipped kitchen diner, two comfortable living rooms with plenty of room both inside and out. The hot tub is fantastic and was well used by us (a family of 5 plus a dog). The views over the river are lovely and fascinating to watch with the changing tide. There are local walks and easy access to the sea, a short drive away. All in all a super weekend.

Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.

Head for the Bowland Wild Boar park and we don't think you will be disappointed. A popular attraction in Preston there is so much to do for the whole family. From picnics, walks and wildlife to experiencing feeding the animals you are sure to have a memorable day out. Also popular is the kids tractor play area. For rest and relaxation the cafe is ideal serving hot drinks and snacks with a lovely view over the pond and wildlife feeding station. The Forest of Bowland has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU

about 22 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals. Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area. Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos. At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed. Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH

about 23 Miles

Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction. With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun. You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.
