Fantastic property set in a lovely location. It was perfect for a relaxing break with a dog and teenager who are both quite demanding so the garden and the entertainment room with pool table were brilliant for the evenings. Just be careful with your dog as there is quite a bit of wildlife around the property which we love unfortunately so does our dog! We had a lovely week at Barn Owl and my daughters agreed it was the best holiday house we've stayed at over 15 years. Joanne and Andrew were brilliant hosts and very welcoming. The grounds are amazing. There can't be too many places where you can sit in a hot tub and see a hare run across the lawns between wild flower beds, then have a massage or f acial on site. Pool tournaments and the cinema screen were a bonus too. Will definitely return.

Barnowl@cobblestones is a beautiful cottage, very well equipped and with the added bonus of the games/cinema room, hot tub and treatments at the on site @wildholistics we didnt want to leave. It is also situated close to some lovely villages and village pubs which are well worth a visit. Would definitely visit again.

We spent a lovely week over Christmas at Barn Owl. It is a lovely venue for a family get together. The property is first class. Great for chilling out and really well kitted out for cooking for a large family. The games room was the focal point of the evenings with pool competitions and films on the cinema. The location is lovely and visitors must try out the super bakery in Knott End. The property now has an EV charger which we appreciated. Joanne and Andrew are super hosts.

This is the second time we have stayed at Barn Owl, Cobblestone Cottages, having first stayed in August 2018. The new additions and features were great, we loved the Hot Tub and extended patio area, the Pool table was regularly used and the cinema room and the 3rd bedroom was a lovely new touch. The views from the upstairs windows are great, and its a lovely place to read or just watch the wildlife. We loved our week at Barn Owl. The place looks great - it's beautifully designed - but is also extremely comfortable and cosy. Some of our favourite things: huge windows, lovely log burner, great showers (and shower pressure), listening to birds in the hot tub, the shared garden (we had two peacocks visit one day!), the giant range cooker, the tips from Joanne (we loved Lytham and the crazy gold at the Flower Bowl), the pool table. For rest and relaxation the cafe is ideal serving hot drinks and snacks with a lovely view over the pond and wildlife feeding station. This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals. Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area. Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos. At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed. Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH

Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction. With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun. You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.
