Lots of space inside and out, everything worked and was well equipped. The outside space and views are unbelievable. The bedding, and throws smelt divine and a g enerous amount of towels provided. Wonderful property. Such a dream house. Everyone was happy - often hard to do. Kids had a ball and made use of all the games the house had to offer and the hot tub was much enjoyed. The property really is outstanding and the host very welcoming. Perfect distance from key places, allowed us to have fun and then retire to more peaceful surroundings. Hope to be back soon.
Louise
My husband, 3 children, dog and myself all stayed at Damson lodge for a week. We thought it looked lovely on the pictures but it was even better in person. The cottage was very well looked after, well equipped with so many things to do. The hot tub was a firm favourite!!! The owners were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The cotta ge is ideally located and is lovely and quiet. It felt like it was our home. We will definitely be back!

Robert
House and location bit as idyllic as on the pictures. Hosts made us all feel welcome and checked in to ensure our stay was going well. Lots of entertainment options for both families and groups of oldies like us!
Derrick
Beautiful large property that accommodated all eight of our family without us been on top of each other. Outside area is also quite large so again plenty of room for us all. The owners greeted us when we arrived to show us around the property and to show us where everything was and how it worked.
Roy
A truly stunning property in an idyllic location. Fantastically styled with all original 70s features and exceptionally comfortable and well equipped. There is ample space for large families and the garden and hot tub were fabulous. We loved the location as it was so peaceful and quiet and yet there were many places and attractions within easy reac h. We would not hesitate to recommend the property, we had a wonderful relaxing stay and felt thoroughly at home.
Carol
Fantastic property in a beautiful setting. Very private and yet only a 10 minute walk to the local pub. The owners gave us (and our dog) a very warm welcome - even down to cupcakes, milk, wine etc. etc. The bungalow was very spacious but homely and the 70s decor was really quirky. Really cannot fault the property at all. Would love to return in the summer to enjoy the fire pit and hot tub!!
Martin
House is lovely, and the owners couldnt do enough to make you feel welcome. Would definitely recommend and will look to stay again in the future.
Michael
They say home is where the heart is and if you stay at the Damsden Lodge, you will immediately recognise that Alison & Tom put all their heart into making this lodge a home for all its visitors. The attention to detail was only rivalled by their gracious & potent hospitality. The grounds of the lodge are equally breathtaking, with panoramic views o f the countryside with various woodland friends visiting. If you're looking to get away, for however brief, Damsden Lodge is the perfect getaway.
Pauline
Myself and 7 friends have just returned from a fabulous weekend at the quirky Damson Lodge, everything you could ever need is supplied. It might not be to everyones taste but we thought all of the original 70s vibe was amazing, it also has stunning views from the huge windows in the lounge, perfect to relax or enjoy the numerous games provided. The beds are lovely and comfy, the showers are brilliant, as is the hot tub ,all in all we couldnt fault it. Tom & Alison are great hosts !
Alistair

Fabulous week spent as a family, Damson Cottage is furnished to a very high standard keeping many of the 70s features. Attention to detail is apparent throughout the property. The kitchen is very well equipped. Spent many evenings outside enjoying the hot tub. fire pit & party lights . With 3 teenage girls to entertain there was plenty for them to do. Head for the Bowland Wild Boar park and we don't think you will be disappointed.  A popular attraction in Preston there is so much to do for the whole family.  From picnics, walks and wildlife to experiencing feeding the animals you are sure to have a memorable day out.  Also popular is the kids tractor play area.  For rest and relaxation the cafe is ideal serving hot drinks and snacks with a lovely view over the pond and wildlife feeding station.  The Forest of Bowland has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
