We had an exceptional stay. The facilities were excellent, the hosts were lovely and greeted us on arrival and were quick to respond to all requests. They were welcoming, provided the basics we'd need for our stay so we didn't have to bring EVERYTHING with us, and we'd happily stay here again. Due to the time of year we didn't explore the local area too much, but the local shop and pub within walking distance was very convenient.

Information provided by Mark before we arrived was so informative and all the information is all there at the Lodge. Stayed at the property for a week, it was everything we hoped for and more. What a gem of a place! 5star throughout and spotlessly clean. The little extras show the owners care about you and your stay, hot tub was amazing after long walks. If you are staying here in the coming weeks you are in for a treat, enjoy!

Overall clean, bin still had food around the lid so had to clean on arrival. Video was brilliant showing how to use everything and where it all is. Was a great stay only downside from mine and my partners side is the late check in 5pm seems a bit late to be checking in

Where do we start! !.What a brilliant and Immaculate Lodge .We have stayed at several of Sykes Cottages, and this beats them all!!!! Clean, tidy, homely and modern . Everything you might need for your holiday has been thought of and is provided. A credit to the owners!!! Mark and Julie, thank you for a wonderful week and all your help, we will never forget .We will without doubt be recommending this Lodge to out family and friends. As an added bonus it has a brilliant Hot Tub for relaxing in. The icing on the cake!!!!

A fantastic place to stay and base yourself! Everything you could ask for for a comfortable stay, kitchen well equipped Quality materials used in all areas of the accommodation for your comfort . Add the Hot tub and wow! Finally Mark and Julie was excellent hosts who couldnt do enough to make our stay perfect .

Mark and Julie were excellent hosts and provide an accommodation just as seen on the website. Comfortable and immaculate inside with a number of added touches that made it a special stay. Ideally placed to visit numerous places in the North west with a good choice of pubs and restaurants within easy reach. If this was 'Four in a bed' they would be scored 10 out of 10 for every section. This was our second stay and hopefully will not be the last. Would definitely recommend to anybody.

Just had a weeks break at this lodge and all I can say is it was amazing,absolutely lovely lodge with everything you could think of provided for you. Loved the decor and if I could have taken the dressing room home with me I would !.Perfect for anyone looking for a break with all the home comforts you could ask for.Hosts are a lovely couple who go above and beyond to make your stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible.

An absolutely perfect place to stay. The lodge is very well kept , beautifully clean and comfortable. Mark greeted us on arrival and showed us around, he has a lot of useful tips and is extremely helpful, without being intrusive at all. There is absolutely nothing you could need for your stay that isn't already there. The kitchen has an abundance of crockery ,cutlery ,pots and pans, and the welcome gifts and milk were a lovely extra touch. The seating area is so comfortable to relax in, with the bonus of sky cinema, which, due to the weather, we made good use of. The enormous bed was very inviting , and the bathroom ,very thoughtfully, had everything you could need just in case you had forgotten something, a brilliant idea. The hot tub was perfect for sinking into after a good days walking to soak the aching bones and the lights outside made it so attractive at night. Both front and back outside spaces were lovely and pretty and peaceful, the nearby construction works did not disturb us at all The local pub , seven stars, was 10 minutes walk away and was the perfect pub, offering a friendly warm welcome and amazing food......the hotpot is a must to try, and a good variety of beers and drinks, Being on the bus route made the lodge a perfect location to visit places without always needing the car , the bus stop is almost directly outside the property . Overall this place is quite simply perfect and we would recommend it to anyone, you will not be disappointed in the slightest, we have very High expectations from Sykes and this exceeded them all, we hope to return in the future.

The Lodge was very plush and well presented it was an asset to the owners. The hot tub was another great asset. When we arrived Mark greeted us and gave us a small tour and sent over some useful information on activities and good restaurants and pubs in the area. The bed was very comfortable. Kilmory is a beautiful find, exactly as described. Mark and Julie have provided a home from home the hot tub is a bonus. All instructions given for your arrival were straightforward, Mark available if any queries and a font of all knowledge regarding the local area.

Kilmory Lodge is the most well furnished and looked after holiday cottage we have ever been to,it was immaculate and everything was a remarkable standard from dishes ,kettle ,dishwasher to fridge freezer and the bathroom was also well fitted out ,dont forget the lovely comfy bed and the luxurious bedding, the towels in bathroom were also really good, that we ordered the same sets when we got home, what I thought was really good idea was the dressing room,. The hot tub was good to dip into at night and it was also well looked after,with Julie and Mark checking it every day . I would recommend this lodge to anyone as I have already said it is immaculate. We had such an amazing time here, everything was perfect, from the quality of the fixtures and fittings, bed linen, towels, kitchen equipment, crockery, glassware the list is endless. We particularly liked the huge comfortable bed with the large TV and lovely bedding the tv is on the wall and I was able to connect my fire stick with the help of the excellent broadband. The decor is absolutely beautiful with such an attention to detail, and the separate dressing room is an added bonus. We loved the patio areas, both front and back, and were able to sit out to eat every night just lovely. The hot tub is amazing, and as mentioned in other reviews, there is building work being done over the fence, however, the owners have done an amazing job of screening the area off. We never felt it intruded on our stay at all. There were lovely little touches all around, from the basket in the bathroom of things you may have forgotten, to the array of treats in the welcome pack along with the gin and tonics and milk in the fridge.

My husband and I have just spent a lovely week in Kilmory Lodge. The standard of furnishings was exceptional. We both have spinal problems so it was so nice to have such comfort. The Lodge was superbly equipped and we could want for nothing. Mark and Julie could not have been better hosts, not intrusive but always on hand if needed. Highly recommended.

Kilmory Lodge was the most beautiful place, exactly as stated on the information, it was like a home from home only better! Even before we arrived we received a video from the owners with everything we needed to know. The lodge had everything you would need & more & was well equipped, nothing was forgotten even to basket in the bathroom filled with things you may have forgotten to bring. Everything was easy to use & comfortable, well kept & very clean. We were told before we arrived that some building work was taking place on an area behind the lodge but this never caused any concern so dont be put off, the noise was minimal most of the time & finished mid to late afternoon. The outdoor & hot tub area was clean & well lit but still felt cosyeven in February! I could not recommend this place highly enough, nothing was forgotten or too much trouble.

It was immaculate throughout out. Good quality furniture & accessories, the lodge was finished to a high standard, the bed was so soft and comfortable, i'd say the sofa needs updating. It was alot bigger than expected. Nice little welcome pack on arrival, milk, tea coffee ect, owners were only a calltext away, the lodge is just out the back of the owners home but well sectioned off, we were left to enjoy our stay. I couldn't get enough of the hot tub, cold dark nights with the outside lights on, in a hot tub is my idea of perfect! The log burner was also a lovely addition. Blackpool is about 25 minutes away from the lodge. There was a couple of bad points, although we were told work was being carried out but wouldn't effect our stay, i personalily didnt feel comfortable going in the hot tub during the day due to the workmen, they were very close at some points in the week, and they did wake me up as im a very light sleeper. We also packed light because the photosvideo showed a washing machine, however this has been changed to a dishwasher. We had a slight issue with hot water, but owner did come and have a look at the boiler straight away, obviously not the owners fault.

Amazing lodge, great hosts, lovely touch of having all the essentials you may have forgot. Had a great time, Couldn't ask for anymore. Thank you very much.

We stayed for a week over Christmas, and the whole experience was fantastic! Loved having the Hot Tub and Log Burner, the whole place was cosy, clean and quiet. The lodge was nicely situated at the back of the property so the noise from the road was minimal. Mark and Julie were incredibly helpful and were happy to answer any questions and fix any issues that we had. We're desperate to come back and hope to visit Kilmory Lodge again in the future!

Exceptionally clean, well presented and equiped. Hot tub was fantastic. Having two outside areas also very good. Fabulously comfortable large bed. Just a couple of little personal niggles might be to do with our age mid & late 70's !? sofas looked great but seat pads were not comfortable, the high table and chairs were not to our liking as the only table and chairs.

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals. Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area. Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos. At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed. Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.
