Hadrians Wall Retreat Reviews

Elaine
Had a very good few days here. The owners are very friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. The pods were clean and comfortable and cosy. It was warm even though it was snowing outside!
Spencer
Very nice place, clean, cosy beautiful setting, definitely would recommend, and re visit
Andrew
Stayed for 4 nights on my own as I wanted some down time. The pod was ideal, very modern and well kept in an idea location to be able to go for a walk from the doorstep. Decent pubs and convenience store only 5 mins drive away. Really enjoyed my stay
Diane
Fantastic location. Pod was clean and hosts were very friendly. Very dog friendly and our dog mabel had a great stay. Wish we could have stayed longer but would definitely recommend..
Nadine

Angela

Shane
Can not say enough good things about this place! Had a fantastic experience staying here.. the pod was much bigger than expected and was fitted out and finished exceptionally and was so comfortable. The hot tub was spotless and very well looked after. Jules was so friendly and helpful and really went above and beyond making our stay brilliant. Cant wait to come back and stay again!
Mandy
We spent 2 nights at this very quiet rural location. Lovely setting for the lodge which is simple but offers a clean comfortable experience. The option of a hot tub is a bonus
Benita
A lovely part of the world with plenty of walks & an amazing pub in the local village called The Sally Inn. The Pods were kept to a high standard & were lovely & clean. The owners gave us a lovely welcome and were very helpful. The views from each pod were breathtaking & as we were blessed with the weather got to enjoy them over a glass of wine or two. The only downside was we thought the hot tub rental was a little pricey for a weekend stay but we do appreciate maintenance costs etc..
Paul
We had the best weekend retreat here. I went with my wife and 8 month baby and they were very accommodating, extremely friendly and gave us such a warm and welcoming hospitality service. I couldn't recommend more and will definitely be back!
Nicola
We loved our stay, the host was very knowledgable and gave us good recommendations for walks and eating places, well kitted out pod, would definitely return
Alice
The most beautiful lodge in the most perfect setting! Perfect for our little frenchie too! The hosts were so friendly and gave the best suggestions of things to do close by.
Kate
Set in a beautiful location, owner came down and met us upon arrival and showed us how to use the hot tub and some recommendations for pubs and nearest village
Clare
Pod & location was gorgeous & simon was there to greet us when we arrived & nothing was to much trouble, would definitely stay again
Lee
Beautiful location and lovely and clean pods. Sheep in field next to pods which are great to watch. Only thing is dogs need to be on leash at all times which is hard if your dog is used to being able to wander. Bit a beauty of a place to stay otherwise and some lovely places to eat nearby especially Sally's
Matthew
Excellent stay, the owner was very friendly and our dog absolutely loved it !! Would highly recommend!
Claire
Had a fantastic peaceful weekend away! The log cabin was lovely, cosy and very clean! Cannot recommended enough! Just what we needed and our dog loved it too!
Julie
Fantastic location, easy for exploring Hadrians wall, Cumbria, Northumberland and Sth Scotland. The lodge/pod had everything we needed for a few nights stay, bed was so comfortable and loved having the option of a hot tub. Great places to eat locally, and lovely host, will definitely return
Joanne
The glamping pods were fab! So cozy and cute, ensuite shower and toilet and a little kitchen area with microwave kettle toaster fridge. Decking outside with seating. The cabin felt very private and secluded from the neighbouring cabins. Myself, boyfriend and dog loved it! Great location for lots of walks, situated on hadrians wall path.
Michelle
Beautiful and stunning place to stay. A little gem, has everything you need. Dog friendly and even had towels and blankets for them. Lovely owners too.. x
Samantha
Great little pod in the middle of the countryside, was really clean and comfortable and great walks nearby and in surrounding areas. Definitely recommend!
Elisabeth
I spent three nights at this lovely property with my dog. It felt like I was the first person to use the property. Close to Hadrians pathway, it was peaceful and ideal for walking and relaxing. Simon, my host, was really helpful and suggested walks for me and the dog! I loved it! I will go again. I slept really well as the bed was so comfortable. T hank you Simon! PS I loved the message on the bench by the beck! Suits my philosophy on life
Karly
Lovely clean pod with all the essential items needed for a couple days stay in the countryside. Great walking routes on the doorstep and some lovely places for food nearby although due to the location, would need a car to get there but not far at all from the pod. The owner was lovely and friendly and gave us recommendations for walking routes and food places. Park inn space for the car and was so happy we were allowed to bring our dog along for the adventure! Would recommend :)
Lee
We had a brilliant time at Headswood on the Wall. The Pod was amazing and the hot tub even better! Simon was brilliant and really added to the holiday. The dog loved it to. We cant wait to come back in a couple of months for another little break away!
Earl
Simon, the owner, was great, greeted us, and showed us how to use the hot tub and the heating in the pod. Even when we couldn't leave as united utilities had dug a gaping hole in the middle of the only exit, he was so apologetic and let us stay in the holiday cottage and made refreshments. We would definitely go back. 5 from us and Denzil the dog.
Hannah
We really enjoyed our stay, lovely location and Simon was lovely. We wish we chose to stay longer than we did. I will be definitely coming again! Highly recommended
Peter
Great place to stay great hosts highly recommended
Michael
Beautiful little pod with hot tub everything was clean and it was so peaceful. The owner was lovely and so helpful. Would 100% recommend and we will definitely return.
Catherine
We had a very pleasant stay at The Hadrians Wall retreat. The pod was excellent value for money and located in a beautiful tranquil location. The owner Simon and his wife Jules were very helpful and pleasant and we are going to book a break again next year .

Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 7 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre - NE48 1BT
about 18 Miles
Housing the most fascinating collection of Birds of Prey in the North East this centre is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the Kielder Water area. Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples.  As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there.  Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 26 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 29 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
