Rowan Bank, Jacobs Wood Reviews

Matthew
Property was ideal for us as a sort of base for day trips to LeedsYork etc. The property itself was really really nice. We loved how modern it felt with the facilities and interiors. The underfloor heating was essential given how cold it was outside and the log burner was very nice at nights. The hot tub was very nice but sadly with the times we got back from our day trips we weren't able to put it to it's full use. With our stay we had very little reason to contact the owners but in our few interactions with Claire she was very friendly and helpful and patient with us explaining the different procedures and operations of the lodge. Would 100 stay again. We both agreed this was the nicest place we have stayed at on a holidaybreak away
We stayed at Rowan Bank after an extremely stressful year to get some much needed respite and relaxation. I can safely say that this was the perfect place for it! The accommodation was spotlessly clean, comfortable and quiet. The views are spectacular and there are some fantastic walks for all abilities straight from the converted barn. The Swedish woodfired hot tub was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed having an evening soak after a day's walking up hill and down dale. There are also lots of attractions and places to visit too so if you want a day out exploring then you're perfectly located. If you are looking for some peace and quiet in a beautiful area then I highly recommend Rowan Bank. We would love to come back and stay again in the future!

Me and my wife just wanted a quite trip away with after what has been a busy summer period, Rowan Bank was just the perfect answer, the accommodation was first class, it was very clean with everything you would need, not just for a short break but long term. Claire met us upon arrival and gave a lovely warm welcome and explained everything that we need to know and even some brilliant walking routes as well some lovely places to eat. We would highly recommend Rowan Bank and look forward to our next visit.

We would definitely stay here again. Claire greeted us when we arrived and showed us around the accommodation. She was very helpful and welcoming, explained things, and gave us recommendations of things to do in the area. There was also a very useful information folder with more suggestions of local areas of interest, places to eat, walks to go on etc which came in very handy. The property itself was in a lovely rural location. It was spotless, very well equipped with everything you could possibly need, and warm and comfortable, with the added bonus of a wood fired hot tub which was great after a day out walking and exploring! We would thoroughly recommend.
Property was really beautiful had a lovely time only points that need considering are no gowns for hot tub only 3 towels if you have a shower before going in the tub they end up wet so gowns would be very useful i know there is a tumble drier but would be easier with gowns. Cushions on the settee need attention or new settee not the most comfortable. These are only minor criticisms and didn't spoil our lovely holiday Many Thanks Paul Allen
A lovely stay. Property is very quiet, in the middle of the country but within a short drive from places of interest. Claire made us feel very welcome and ensured that we had everything that we needed.
We enjoyed a wonderful stay here, and we just could not get over the breathtaking views from the main space. Claire and Steve provided everything we could ever need, including a lovely welcome package. Would absolutely stay here again, and fully intend to!

Thanks for a very nice welcome from Claire, our stay in the barn was very relaxed and comfortable. This is a really good property and a perfect central location for visits and walks. We did Malham Cove and Goredale Scar, the three peaks and Ribblehead, Keighley and Worth Valley railway, Haworth the Brontes!, Skipton, and a walk to and from Bardon Bridge to Bolton Abbey. Loved it. Thanks.
Absolute superb location and accommodation, could not fault a thing. So relaxing and peaceful and a great place to stay.
Richard
Once again a fantastic week in excellent accommodation. Lovely position, where you can have a soak in the hot tub viewing the surrounding scenery and wildlife. Will return again next year, highly recommended.
Jacqueline
Absolutely beautiful place to stay. The accommodation is to a very high standard and the location is idyllic. The wood burner and the hot tub are great benefits, and the whole place is beautifully laid out and very comfortable. Clare and Steve are lovely and have plenty of advice and tips on the local area, if you need it. Don't be put off that it's semidetached we didn't hear a thing through the wall. It's clearly been properly constructed to maintain privacy and peace and quiet. The setting and views are beautiful loads of wildlife right on your doorstep absolutely fabulous! Very convenient for the Dales. Wonderful place would highly recommend and we hope to be back!
Patricia
Enjoyable stay we loved everything at Rowan Bank. The views are beautiful so peaceful. Claire is such a lovely lady so friendly. Lots of lovely treats. We hope to come back.
A lovely well equipped barn with beautiful views. A great location for exploring the local area. Facilities in the barn are very good. Owners very helpful. Hope to return.

Rowan Bank offered all of the comfort and familiarity of home, but with beautiful views and the peace and quiet that only a small town can offer. The hosts were absolutely amazing, very accomodating and communicative prior to arrival and just as friendly during our stay. We had access and use of all the amenities that we'd ever need, every basis was covered. As well as a wood fired hot tub that created a lovely intimate and relaxing atmosphere. This is the second time we have stayed at Jacobs Wood, and we are already planning the third.

What a fantastic place! My husband and I booked a few nights stay as a work retreat. The property was exactly as advertised and was even more cosy in real life! It was so well equipped and spotlessly clean. The location and views were stunning. We planned on eating out for a couple of nights but the place was so cosy we didn't want to leave so we headed to the local Aldi and stocked up on meals and hid away enjoying the log burner and hot tub in the evenings. Claire, the owner, was fantastic, so lovely, very helpful and welcoming. Thanks Claire, you have a little gem here and thanks too for the lovely treats One thing I would add that the photos don't show is that the windows in the lounge have remote control blinds on them and the large window in the dining area has a barn door that closes so at night it's very private. We totally recommend Rowan Bank and we will definitely be returning!
A lovely property with beautiful views. Very clean and comfortable and well situated for visiting this part of Yorkshire. Very nice welcome pack too
Rowan Bank is so luxurious. Very high end for a holiday property at a very reasonable price. The hot tub was a real treat. If you want a relaxing holiday with spectacular countryside views and some great walks from your doorstep then this is definitely the place for you. The barn was super clean, so peaceful and very dark at night all making it a perfect holiday. We even got to see amazing wild life! We loved being here so much, thank you.
We had a wonderful week at Rowan Bank. Claire made sure we had everything we needed upon our arrival and had some great recommendations for places to visit. Having so many birds and animals to watch on the doorstep was wonderful. If you want a tranquil retreat on the edge of the Dales, you couldn't get much better than this.
Natalia
We had a lovely time at the cottage. Thank you for the quick tour and the run through on howto once we arrived and accommodating for a slightly later checkin. Place is very well kept, well equipped and we had plenty of logs for the hot tub as well as the log burner. An excellent experience.
This was by far the best accommodation in the UK we have ever stayed in. Set in a lovely location and so peaceful. The cabin its self was to a very standard, everything was high quality even down to the kitchen essentials. Plenty wood for hot tub to last the week and easy to use. Non of us wanted to go home and we would definitely visit again. Thank you Claire.
Sharon
Just returned from a week at Rowan Bank. The property is just perfect, situated in surrounding beautiful countryside. No noise just the wildlife. We had deer, pheasants and barn owls to see from the doorstep. All appliances and facilities were top notch and you wanted for nothing. Nice welcome gifts on arrival. The hottub is easy to get going after a lesson and provides a welcoming relax after a day out. There were plenty of logs for the week. Silsden town is very quaint and only a 5 minute drive down a very steep hill. Claire is a perfect host and on hand if you needed advice. You must try Stefanos in the town for lovely Italian food. Perfect base for exploring. Would definitely come back missing it already. Thank you Claire and Steve.
Carole
This property is first class, the hot tub was such a bonus. There are plenty of places to visit on the doorstep and Claire was great texting us when the wildlife was out for us to see, we would definitely recommend this property
Everything was perfect Claire was lovely, lovely walks on your doorstep. Theres plenty of places to visit. Very peaceful listening to the wildlife on a night. Would definitely look at staying again.
Had a fantastic 3 night stay at Rowan Bank over the Easter weekend. Property and facilities were excellent...very comfortable and relaxing. Thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub, wood burner and watching the pheasants from the tub. First time we'd used a wood fired hot tub and was surprised how easy it was. Would recommend
Lovely place to stay and owners were very welcoming. The property was absolutely beautiful and we will 100 be stopping again.
The location was just amazing! The place was beautiful and so clean, and the vewis were breathtaking. The hosts were always so lovely throughout. I would definitely recommend and would definitely love to return!
Just returned from a wonderful visit to Rowan Bank. Accommodation was excellent and just as described online, and was also spotlessly clean. Location was perfect with views over the Dales from both the lodge and the hot tub and was also ideally placed for visiting local attractions. Worth a visit to Ilkley and Harrogate. Many thanks Martin and Sandy.
We absolutely loved our stay at Rowan Bank. From we warm welcome when we arrived and beautiful surroundings to the lovely and clean accommodation with all we needed and the amazing and easy to use hot tub. We thoroughly recommend this as a place to stay, whether you want to explore the area or just relax at Rowan Bank
Such an amazing few days away, cottage had everything we needed couldnt of asked for more.
A fabulous stay, at a truly wonderful place. The accommodation is 5 star, with beautiful views, an abundance of wildlife and glorious walks right from the doorstep. We have 13 year old twin boys and it was a great location as a base to explore the Yorkshire Dales and surrounding towns and villages. Would thoroughly recommend a stay here.
Caroline
Rowan Bank is gorgeous, even nicer in the flesh than in the photographs. Clean, comfortable beds, beautiful views, hot tub is amazing, so peaceful. We couldn't hear anything of the neighbours in the place attached they were there, we saw them, but we were surprised we couldn't hear anything! It has everything you need with detailed instructions. Claire was so helpful and lovely, couldn't fault the place or the stay at all. Thank you.
Adnaan
Amazing property and lovely owners too would definitely recommend other people to come and stay.

When we arrived we were greeted by Claire who told everything we needed to know. The accommodation was lovely clean and warm. The hot tub was an added extra and was also lovely. The view from the window over Silsden and beyond was great and we look forward to rebooking next year

My girlfriend and I had a brilliant time. Lovely walks are organised for you with detailed maps. The views from the barn are incredible. The barn is a 2 minute drive from town and taxis are available for the night time. The location gives you tonnes of privacy. The hot tub is brilliant and clean. Everything about our stay was amazing!! Fully recommend to anyone wanting to get away. We will definitely be coming back.
Couldn't fault the accommodation and Claire the owner was lovely
