The Stone Masons House Reviews

Terrific, relaxing family holiday. Highly recommend. Hot tub and pool table are a great bonus. Cafe next door very welcoming and food is superb.
A lovely house which was very clean and comfortable and had everything that we needed. The pool table and hot tub were an added bonus. The furnishings were in keeping with the property. We loved that it was within walking distance to some pubs and the beautiful village of Haworth. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone wishing to visit this part of the country,
Angela
The cottage was everything we had hoped for, the hot tub was serviced whilst we were there too, so nice and clean. The pool table was a brilliant too. Also the owners suggested we didnt have to rush off on the day of leaving as, wasnt cleaning till the following day. The breakfast at the cafe was lovely too.
A lovely characterful house sympathetically restored with furniture and furnishings pleasing to the eye. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking a Sunday roast. The bedrooms and ensuites perfect for relaxing mornings. 3 generations of us enjoyed the hot tub and the pool table plus the coziness of the log fire. Sally was helpful and friendly in her messages. A very pleasant weekend was had by all. Thankyou Sykes for your efficient service.
Lovely cottage This was are second visit, perfect relaxing and hot tub perfect. Owner so helpful and added bonus of having a coffee shop next to us wasnt there last visit Thanks for a perfect week
Melanie
The Stone Mason's house was perfect for our family holiday. All of the rooms were well equipped and comfortable, there was plenty of entertainment for rainy days and evenings. The hot tub was perfectly placed to see the stunning views. Would definitely return.
Many times to Howarth, second time to Stone Mason's. The owners have a beautiful property. If you want Howarth with space to relax and luxury
It was a lovely stay at the Stonemasons The different levels in the house worked really well for us. The only bad thing , was the blinds in the 1st floor bedrooms on the small windows They were nt black out , so the bedroom s were very light. Overall it was lovely, lovely garden, hottub etc Cakes from the cafe were excellent too .
We absolutely love coming here! Its our fourth visit and its been lush every time. We take our two Newfoundlands who spend all their time exploring the garden while we relax in the hot tub, which is well maintained throughout our stay. The only notes we have this time are very minor but worths watch The cafes success is heartwarming to see and very handy to have next door but when coming and going in the car, the parking situation is a nightmare. Also when the upholstery place has visitors they seem to assume they can park wherever they want and often use the spots designated for the house or block you in. The cleanliness and facilities are always very good here and you can tell the owners take great pride in looking after their property. However theres some small deep clean jobs creeping in that often get missed when youre busy cobwebs and the like so suggest maybe hiring some help in that department. The kitchen also has a lack of equipment compared to when we first started visiting maybe itd be possible to charge guests for the disappearance or damage of pots pans etc. We all know how expensive things are at the moment guests should definitely be showing respect for both owners and fellow guests in this department. What Id like to make clear is that despite me noting these points down, it will NOT stop us booking again and visiting for the fifth time next year. They are mainly constructive points. Sally is a wonderful host and extremely warm businesswoman, you can tell she genuinely LOVES her property and her cafe and takes pride in its success.
We had a wonderful week in this lovely Victorian house. The owners have made a terrific job of restoring it the interior design really compliments the house. We enjoyed sitting in the garden each evening making the most of the unseasonably warm Yorkshire weather. On our last morning, our dog refused to leave until we promised to come back again! By the way, we can really recommend breakfast at the owner's Millstack Cafe next door.
Barbara
The house and location were stunning, and perfect for our family holiday. Plenty room for the 7 of us. Our grandsons especially loved the pool table and we all enjoyed the hot tub. All facilities were included dishwasher, washing machine etc, and it made the stay there relaxing and very enjoyable. Close to all local amenities and beautiful places to visit, many within walking distance Haworth village and Oakworth train station which were amazing, especially for me being a massive fan of The Railway Children . Sally was in touch regularly to keep us up to date about the booking arrangements, key safe codes etc which made it very straightforward and easy to organise. I would highly recommend the Stonemasons House as a place to stay.
Victoria
Fabulous cottage in a lovely area . We had a great week despite the weather and visited Haworth, Hebden Bridge, Ilkley and Skipton all a short distance away . The cottage was very clean and comfortable, we especially loved the hot tub and pool table . We visited the Millstack cafe next door and the food was delicious ! Sally was always on hand and very helpful. We would highly recommend staying here .
We were a party of 6 adults. The house is beautiful! Beds are super comfortable. Facilities are exceptional! Everything that you need. The hot tub was a very welcome bonus. All this just a short walk away from the beautiful little village of Haworth. Thoroughly enjoyed and would return. Thank you
Caitrian
Beautiful property both inside and out. Amazing decor, with lots of upcycled furniture and quirky touches. Everything was immaculate. We had lovely weather so could make the most of the stunning garden and the very high quality hot tub. Sally was a brilliant host and couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The proximity of the Millstack Cafe next door was an added bonus. Would highly recommend.
Philip
Beautiful house in a stunning location. The hot tub and garden area was fantastic with lovely views. We spent all week in the garden due to such amazing weather. The pool table was another added bonus. The house was clean and very spacious with lovely en suites. The living room was beautiful and the kitchen area was great looking out onto the garden area, another room we spent alot of time in. The cafe next door was a lovely surprise and the coffee and food was excellent, had coffee most days in there. Just a little feedback to make the stay even better is that oven gloves are definitely needed along with salt & pepper and a welcome package would have been nice. Other than that we had a really relaxing holiday and would definitely go back. Thank you.
We had a lovely stay with our dog at the Stone Masons House. It is in a beautiful location, and the caf next door is excellent. We really appreciated how dog friendly the house was, and the facilities were fantastic. The pool table and hot tub were much appreciated! The kitchen is wellequipped, which was great because we love to cook when we go away. We were lucky to have brilliant weather and loved spending time in the garden. This is a beautiful and comfortable house, which we would highly recommend.
We have just come back from a lovely week at the Stone Masons House. Our party consisted of 6 adults and a dog and there was plenty of room for everyone. It is a beautiful spotlessly clean cottage with a well equipped kitchen that had everything we needed, it also had a nice secure garden for our dog. The 3 bedrooms are all ensuite which was absolutely brilliant and the beds are the most comfortable we have ever had in a holiday let The hot tub which Sally came in 3 times during the week to maintain and pool table for the boys is just what is needed after a busy day shopping or trekking across the Dales. The owners of this house should be really proud as they have done an amazing job with the styling and decoration its just like a home from home. If you require any assistance or information regarding walks or things to do Sally and her Sister are always available next door in the cafe which by the way does the best breakfast but book a table as it is very popular Thanks the CourtTempest Family
Just got home from a lovely stay at the Stonemasons Cottage. Beautiful cottage with comfy beds, well equipped kitchen and everything we needed. We really enjoyed the hot tub and pool table, and it had nice secure garden which the dog enjoyed exploring. The cafe next door was fantastic and we had a couple of delicious meals there. Thanks for a great weekend
Allison
Wow what can I say about this beautiful house! If you are looking for something that is beautiful inside and out Stonemasons house wont disappoint! Its history is fascinating and the restoration and decoration perfect! A beautiful house on a brilliant location for walking. The only down side to our stay was that the hot tub wasnt up to its full heat to use on the Friday night but we made up for this on the Saturday evening. Weve all had a fantastic stay!
Michelle
A beautiful home in a perfect location. Ideal for our adult family of 4 plus dog with all the amenities for a relaxing break. The hot tub and pool table were a great bonus. Sally the owner was very friendly and on hand if we needed anything but totally unobtrusive and we enjoyed a lovely breakfast in her cafe next door. Would happily visit again.
Denise
We had a lovely stay the owner was away on holiday but her dad came round and ... We had a lovely stay the owner was away on holiday but her dad came round and himself and his wife cleared all the snow on the paths to the cottage and to the hot tub also we just pointed out that a bush in front of the hot tub was a little over grown when we came back from our day out he had cut it back very helpful man the walk to Haworth is only about half an hour the cottage is very well equipped and comfortable the log fire was a added bonus as we went when it was snowing so lovely to sit round a nice fire to get warm I would definitely recommend the house loved all the different bit of furniture beds very comfortable
Jessica
An absolutely beautiful property in a great location walkable into Haworth which is spacious, well equipped, cosy yet stylishly decorated, provides all the amenities one could need for a cottage holiday with friends and family and children & a cat! . We had a brilliant time helped also be the lovely owners who also own the cafe next door where we had delicious coffees, cakes and brunches! Thank you so much! Ps beds are super comfy everyone slept really well not sure why people thing otherwise!
We stayed here as a family group of 6 adults and 1 dog over the New Year. The property was lovely and warm when we arrived and we made ourselves at home straight away. This is a lovely property, well decorated and very well kit out with the pool table and huge supply of games being a huge hit, and the log burner was great for the cold evenings. The cafe next door, also owned by Sally the owner, does great food and we often popped in for take away coffees as they were so nice. Sally was a very good host and let us know that she was on hand if we needed anything. Unfortunately we didnt get to use the hot tub as it was so cold and wet when we stayed but it didnt stop us getting some very nice hikes in and visiting the local areas then coming back and chilling out by the fire and playing games.
Hannah
Everything was perfect! The house was beyond our expectations! So beautifully presented, very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Owner was very helpful and considerate of our privacy when checking on the hot tub. Would highly recommend and would stay again. We visited Haworth & Harrogate during our stay and both were lovely! Recommend the Hawthorn in Haworth for a roast dinner! Only things we would mention are the mattresses could be a little more comfortable and the solar lights under the hot tub canopy weren't working so it was quite dark at night time.
We have just enjoyed a great week in Haworth staying at the gorgeous Stone Masons House. Beautiful property, comfortably furnished and the bonus of a hot tub after a morning walking was fabulous.
Lesley
The house was so warm and welcoming from the moment we walked through the door. Amazing views and its the first property weve ever been where everything was provided from tea towels to loo rolls and the hot tub was maintained regularly by the owner Sally an absolutely spectacular host
Lovely house in a good position for exploring the local area. The attention to detail is to a very high standard, nothing was too much trouble for Sally &Neil. The garden has beautiful views of the countryside ,and is obviously looked after well. There is comfortable outdoor seating and a great hot tub for relaxing in which was well maintained. The house is large and warm for 7 people, there is smart tvs in all rooms . Kitchen is well equipped , beds are soft with good quality linen, ensuites large and new. I would definitely recommend this property and would like to return.
A lovely place to stay, wonderfully equipped and very comfortable. Having a great cafe next door was an unexpected bonus.
Leanne
We had a wonderfully stay at the stone masons house with our 5 children and little sausage dog, the garden was just perfect for the beautiful weather we had. We visited the millshack cafe next door run by the owners for breakfast and lunch and werent disappointed. We visited Haworth, Skipton and Hebden bridge for lovely days out! The children loved the pool table in the dining room, they slept on the top floor with there own bathroom and it felt safe knowing they were above us! The house feels much bigger and we could all spread about on an evening but still all sit together in the living room after a busy day. Hot tub was wonderful with the decking area close by so everyone was together in and out the hot tub! We had no problems with wifi we had in a lot of large properties we have stay in and TV easy to use in every room! Our teenage son stayed in one of the king bedroom with his own bathroom and didnt want to come home, perfect for couples or grandparents travelling together as totally you own bedroom space! We loved the house and the area, and we definitely recommend to others and would love to come back thank you sally xxx
Stonemasons House is delightful in every sense of the word. Its very spacious, 3 kingsized bedrooms all with spacious well equipped en suites, meant each of us could get ready at our own pace without worrying about holding anyone up, and every room is beautifully decorated with stylish quirky touches everywhere. The beds are supremely comfortableI usually struggle to sleep when away from home but there was no such problem here. Stonemasons is on several levels which adds to the quirky charm, but if you have mobility problems then this house is probably not for you as there is quite a bit of stair climbing. There are fantastic facilities here including a gorgeous topnotch hot tub which is kept at constant temperature so is ready for use at any time, and a dining table which converts to a pool table, both of which added to our enjoyment. The garden is gorgeous and although as other reviewers mention there is a road running alongside the property, it is not in any way intrusive. Sitting in the garden on the decking you could imagine you were in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside, the glorious scenery and distant sound of the occasional steam train made this seem like paradise. An added bonus is the friendly and well run cafe next door which belongs to the owner of Stonemasons, serving the most delicious breakfasts and lunches. Its a very handy base to visit Haworth which is just gorgeous, and the stunning Yorkshire Dales. Theres so much to see close by. We loved it here and hope to return.
Weve had an absolutely wonderful time staying at The Stonemasons House. It is impeccably presented, with wonderful facilities including a sparkling hot tub and beautiful garden. The house is very comfortable and stylishly furnished. Theres plenty of room and certainly no queue for the bathroom with 3 ensuites! Even down to the pool tabledining table and other games, the owners have clearly taken a lot of though to make their guests as comfortable as possible. Location is great, with excellent walks from the door, including a stroll to the heritage railway. The local villages and towns are very accessible and have lots of things to see and do. Theres even a lovely cafe next door which has great food and a wonderful atmosphere. We really did have a lovely time and cant wait to go back!
Lovely property. Quirky with character. Our boy loved the hot tub & dog loved the big garden. Haworth is walking distance with lots of pubs & shops. The cafe next door is very nice.
Christine
Our group of friends thoroughly enjoyed our time at The Stonemasons House. Just a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk to visit Haworth main street and the Parsonage. We enjoyed popping next door to the Mill Stack cafe for breakfast or coffee and delicious cakes. Very interesting colourful house, on 4 levels. It was such fun to watch the steam trains entering the tunnel from the garden and chilling in the hot tub after walks across the beautiful moorland countryside.
Brilliant stay in a fantastic house. Everything you need is there! Lots of room, comfortable beds and lovely modern bathrooms. Large hottub outside, kept at a constant temperature, so ready to use! A cafe has recently been opened by the owner, at the side of the property, perfect for breakfast, and lunches! Only warning I would give, is that the house is four storeys, so lots of stairs to climb! Would definitely recommend a stay here!
Hannah
Excellent stay, I was travelling to England from Australia and decided to stay in the stone masons house with my family so that we could all enjoy a holiday together, it beat our expectations and we cant wait to return again! Ill definitely be rebooking the next time I visit UK to see my family. Owner was very helpful with anything we needed, and the house had everything we needed, the spa was amazing!
Melissa
We had a fantastic week at this beautiful property. The house is immaculately clean and well presented. Not sure how they manage it with such a tight turn around. Hot tub was fun and the garden is delightful. Owners very friendly. Want to rebook already. Shame Welcome Packs have not been reintroduced even though all Covid restrictions have been lifted its always disappointing to spend 1000 plus on a cottage and not feel like there is a 'special welcome'. There are 4 floors to the property though which is not really clear in the description and the mattress in the bedroom at the back is a bit lumpy but these are minor issues. Maybe in the description for the parking information it should say that you park in the cafe car park, as we did drive around a couple of times before working it out. Thanks for a great time and the opportunity to make great memories
Lovely owners. A beautiful cottagehouse! It was huge! We loved the garden and hot tub and were so lucky with the gorgeous weather so made the most of it. My husband, daughter and I were in the top room lots of stairs!, but it was lovely. Very comfy bed. We all loved the decor in the other two bathrooms and I loved the quirky chairs dotted about. Thank you!
Lindsey
