Dianne
Beautiful house well maintained, with a glorious view
Nicola
Fantastic property remote enough for privacy but well connected to the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District and even a cheeky visit to the Blackpool illuminations. Super comfortable beds that envelope you like enormous marshmallows and a well equipped kitchen. The hot tub was the icing on the cake!
Such a beautiful and well thought out property a wonderful welcome basket on arrival was a lovely touch. The hot tub was a huge hit especially as the owners took care of everything, popping in to look after it so all we had to do was enjoy it! Family pool tournaments kept us occupied as well as games up at the fabulous kitchen table. Great local walks, amazing local pubs for food The Lister Arms and Beck Hall were favourites meant we had the most amazing holiday! Thank you!
Elaine
A wonderful property in every way. Four bedrooms all with high quality ensuites isnt easy to find. The hot tub was always instantly hot and the large basket of logs ready for the super efficient log burner made everything so relaxing. We appreciated the lovely welcome hamper complete with millionaires shortbread which we enjoyed on glorious walks to Malham Cove and the Tarn and the fresh flowers on the table. Rachael was always on hand for any queries. The perfect way to spend a birthday with friends. The walk from Settle to Stainforth Fosse is also a great walk with salmon leaping in the river at this time of year. The Plough at Wigglesworth and Craven Arms at Giggleswick both very good for food but dont have the squid at the Plough unbelievably salty.
Beautiful barn in Gods own county. Everything you could possibly want and need for a fabulous family and friends holiday. Well equipped, with all fixtures and fittings at a very high standards.
Amazing accommodation, location and we Had a fantastic family holiday. The pool table and hot tub were both Fantastic additions a pool table now on order for Christmas present Thanks to everybody for making a great holiday possible.
Louise
The house was absolutely beautiful and in the most lovely of settings. It had everything you could hope for in terms of amenities. The pool table and hot tub were great hits with everyone. The welcome hamper was amazing, especially the homemade brownies. Thank you for a lovely holiday. We hope to be back!

It was a beautiful property in an amazing setting. We had wonderful weather , great use of the hot tub and altogether a wonderful holiday with the family. The hosts were very helpful. We'd certainly go back for another holiday.
Fantastic, quality accommodation in a stunning location.
A lovely property with everything needed. Comfortable beds
My party & I absolutely loved Crane Field Laithe. Would highly recommend and we will be staying again in the future. Lovely personal touches by the hosts, it was amazing. Thank you!
Andrew
Modern, spacious, clean with excellent facilities. Fantastic views of the Yorkshire Dales. Well positioned for walks from the property with the nearby Black Horse Pub, or for touring around. Lots of things to do locally, including steam train ride and canal boat hire. Kitchen spacious and well equipped. Dining table big enough comfortably for 8. Beds very comfortable. Nice to have the wood burner going in the evening.
We had a fantastic holiday at Crane Field Laithe. The location is perfect both for short walks from the door in stunning countryside, as well as for a base to explore the beautiful Dales. The property has been converted to an extremally high standard and is very well equipped, it's the perfect place for a relaxing getaway.

This is the second time we've been to this cottage and looking at booking for next year too. The owner is close to hand and approachable but you are left in peace. The location is utterly tranquil and ideal spot for walkers, giving a wonderful location to relax after a day out. I would add that you probably need a car there aren't eateries or pubs within walking distance, but everywhere is within a 510 min. drive. We x4 couples love the place as all have lovely bedrooms that are ensuite. Few family games and a small pool table for entertainment in the evening, plus enough sofas and chairs for everyone to lounge on. One of our group, when chatting one evening said how usually when he comes to places like this he thinks what he would change as do I, pretending if I could live there but couldn't find anything. It is one of the nicest places I have booked for our group.
Excellent accommodation, we all enjoyed our stay. Great place for a family get together, will certainly consider a return visit when we have the opportunity.
The cottage was gorgeous and we have already booked for next year. A few things that would have made the stay even better would have been some blinds in the living room, as the sun was quite blinding when sat in the living room. Surround sound as depending on where you say you couldnt really hear the tele but with a kid in the main room we could do it to load. It being dog friendly too as we had to leave ours behind and its such a walking area wished our dog could have come.
Catherine
Crane Field Laithe had all our needs met in comfort and with a beautiful location. We were a party of 7 adults, my mother disabled, so the ground floor ensuite was ideal and something we were specifically looking for. It was well supplied with all you could need in the kitchen for cooking a full Christmas dinner we have found other cottages sometimes dont provide adequate equipment and serving dishes. The washer and dryer came in very handy for soggy and muddy walking clothes and the hot tub was amazing! The multi fuel stove was a godsend and really kept the communal living spaces toasty. Carne Field Laithe is in a beautiful area of the Dales, perfectly positioned for walks straight from the door and wider explorations. The Lister arms in Malham was recommended in the cottage book and we can thoroughly endorse it too! Thank you for a Christmas to remember!
The property was perfect for the six of us. The bedrooms, all with ensuites, were very comfy and spacious and we all slept really well. The lounge had plenty of comfy seating and a great view. The hot tub was a large one and the pool table was a real bonus. We are avid cooks and we found the kitchen had everything we needed, couldnt fault anything and would happily book again. A lot of thought and effort has gone into making the house a great holiday home and we really appreciated it.
Susannah
Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home. Everything was perfect and we will definitely return in the future. Thank you for the very generous welcome pack and all the little extras dishwasher tablets, bathroom toiletries, wood for the stove, blankets, board games and more that helped make our stay so easy and enjoyable. We loved the rural location and the layout of the house. We just wished we could have stayed longer!
From communication with the owners prior to arrival, the welcome pack to the quality of the property, everything was excellent. The location, equipment beds and general comfort were the best we have experienced in a rental property. Very highly recommended.
Fantastic place to stay. Beautifully furnished, Well equipped , beautiful location
Roberta
I have just had the most wonderful stay at Crane Field Laithe with a group of friends to celebrate my 40th. The hosts couldn't have been better, clear information packs about the property including it's history which was interesting to know, a thoughtful welcome pack including delicious home baked goods and messages to let us know the property was ready for check in earlier than expected and no rush for us to leave on our departure day. The property itself is stunning yet cosy and comfortable at the same time, the kitchen is well equipped and the sofas and chairs in the lounge are spacious and perfect for lounging on. All the bedrooms are beautiful with the most comfortable beds I've slept in at a holiday let and combined with good quality bedding, made for a great nights sleep. All the rooms are en suite with spacious and beautiful bathrooms and the whole property was spotless. A highlight for us was seeing the colours change on the landscape as the sunset in the evening and watching it rise whilst in the hot tub, the scenery is beautiful. Perfect place for making special memories.
A property of the highest standard a great place location wise to stay too. Can thoroughly recommend
We have just returned from our traditional autumn weekend break and so pleased we chose to spend it at Crane Field Laithe. Fantastic property in a quiet location. Very well furnished, immaculately clean with more than enough room for 8 people and all the bedrooms are ensuite, always a plus. Lovely welcome pack with fabulous homemade brownies. Plenty to do in the area, enjoyed a lovely day in Skipton and managed to walk one of the peaks, PenyGhent. Great to soak our sore muscles in the hot tub when we got back. We would definitely recommend staying here and hope to return next year.
Patricia
We were 6 ladies who stayed here 7th October for a week . The house is a fabulous place to stay exceptionally clean and top quality furnishings and fantastic comfy beds . Hot tub was fantastic after walking all day . And sitting by the log burner at night . We would definitely recommend this place . We hope to stay again next year . Rachel the host was a lovely lady and nothing too much trouble. Lovely welcome pack with yummy homemade brownies
Claire
We are 6 friends celebrating a 50th birthday and 30 years of friendship. The house was absolutely perfect. It was spotlessly clean, really comfortable and cosy. The welcoming gifts and card were so kind and really thoughtful. The brownies in particular were yummy and lasted 5 minutes! We loved having the sheep as our neighbours and the hot tub was just fabulous. We are already planning a return trip for the next 50th!
We all thought the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped and we were able to make a cake. An electric hand whisk would have made the task easier. Each bedroom having its own ensuite made our stay very comfortable. The whole building was beautifully decorated. A luxurious stay in a very pretty setting.
The property, facilities, views and location are amazing, we could find no faults whatsoever. It was above our expectations and we had a truly fantastic stay
Exceptionally clean and the kitchen organisation was amazing! Roomy, bathrooms gorgeous! A parasol would be great for the garden furniture as we had very hot weather 26 30 degrees not complaining in the least! Beautiful views, peaceful and easy to get to places . Sheep and cows for neighbours. Places to visit Skipton Castle and woods, Ingleton waterfalls trail, Ingleborough Caves personally I thought that was expensive at 13.00 per adult but that did include a walk at about 2.50 approx per adult. Stockeld park, Grassington. Malham Cove We just ran out of time to visit all the places we wanted to! Would definitely book again!
Charles
This is a wonderful home. It was a pleasure to read about how a delapidated barn coul be transformed into such a superb house. Very clean and.comfortable with a huge selection of utilities. The welcome pack was a treat and the hot tub lovely to come home to after a day touring. Plenty places to visit in the area. We have nothing but praise for the home and also for a perfect host. Would highly recommend for a lovely holiday.
This is an excellent and high grade property which we would recommend highly about its high standard And facilities. Beautiful location with surrounding fields is a feast to your eyes. Hot tub was excellent. Only drawback was only one shower could be used at any given time despite having 4 showers as the other showers Could not give enough power to the water .
This property was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay in June which was helped by us experiencing the most glorious hot weather. The house is beautiful with lovely views across the Yorkshire countryside. The contact with the owner was excellent. She left us a lovely basket of goodies which we enjoyed on our first evening sitting on the terrace. The house is very well equipped with very good quality furniture and furnishings. The kitchen is lovely and has everything you would need if you wanted to cater for yourselves. The bedrooms are lovely, beds very comfortable with lovely cotton sheets etc and nice pillows all things the can spoil your stay if not done correctly. Bathrooms are beautiful with lovely white fluffy towels. The hot tub was fantastic but we could not use it the first night due to it having to reach the temp following being cleaned. This was fine and we very much enjoyed it on the following nights. I feel loath to mention the few things that could have given this property 10 out of 10 but I think 9 .5 is a great score. Out of the 4 bedrooms only 2 had wardrobes and those wardrobes only had about 5 hangers each. This wasnt too much of a problem as we were 1 extended family together so could move our clothes into the other bedrooms but if you were going with friends this may be an issue although a minor issue. So take some hangers with you. The internet is excellent and inside the property the service was fast, but no service outside. The main issue was that between our party we can 3 mobile phone service providers and non of them were available in or around the property so if you need to have access to making phone calls you will be disappointed. WhatsApp was still available so we could make some contact with the outside world. As it was this was not too much of a problem because we were 1 extended family so didn't really need to contact anyone. Obviously you are in the very heart of the countryside and for me I was not too worried about this because I am sure you could still have emergency calls. We would definitely go back to this property. We have used Sykes many times, and some properties have not been very good and especially not clean but this was fantastic in every way.
An amazing week for a family get together. Beautiful comfortable place, fully equipped house, with lots to entertain all age ranges. Easy access, very peaceful. Hot tub was the crowning glory. Thank you Rachael , created a memorable special birthday
Philip
We have stayed before and really like this highstandard accommodation. Just couple of points to note No casserole dish We couldn't find any shaverelectric toothbrush points. Maybe they are there but we didn't see any. No tea strainer The property is lsited as being in Airton. It is in Otterburn. .
Virginia
Great place for a multigenerational family gathering.
We all had a great time at Crane Field Laithe. We have stayed in many properties but by general consent this was the best place we had ever stayed in. The facilities are great en suite in all bedrooms is brilliant. The barn conversion has been done to a very high standard and the layout of kitchen dining area and sitting room all work well with a family group of six. The hot tub was the star attraction for the youngest member of the family and the snooker table was very popular. Worth mentioning also is how well provided the kitchen is with everything you might need. And not just one mug or plate per person but a good number so that we didnt run out during the day. Not only is the design of the conversion outstanding but the furniture and fittings are very stylish and comfortable. I must also mention the setting. Amazing views from across the fields and hills and where else are you welcomed by a group of young lambs? A welcome basket of goodies was also really appreciated and the home made brownies were out of this world. Our thanks to Ashley and Rachael for their exceptional hospitality.
Very high standard of accommodation with extremely comfortable beds. Nothing was lacking and the location is perfect.
