This is a great cottage in a fantastic location, the owners made a point of coming and saying hi and checking everything was OK. The hot tub was a nice was to relax and the wood burner in the living room made for very cosy evenings. Both bedrooms were a good size, and the bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable. Overall a great place to stay fRead moreor an enjoyable stay in the Yorkshire moors, we will definitely be looking to go back next year !! Hide

We loved Hare House and the location. Jonathan was very helpful and kind and recommended a local riding stables we did a fabulous trek with, Sheila at Boltby trekking was great. The cottage is so well equipped and clean, the sofas and beds were super comfy. The log burner and hot tub were a real treat at the end of our days exploring the local areaRead more. So much to see and do. Wed love to come back and highly recommend this cottage and location. Thank you for sharing it with us! Hide

Fantastic location, with some lovely villages to visit close by. the hot tub was lovely. house very spacious and you can sit out in the sun all day if you wish. some lovely pubs close by.
Christine
We would highly recommend both 'the old hay barn' & 'hare house'! We hired them together for a long weekend for a large family gathering, which was ideal. They are situated next to each other, on a lovely farm, with dog walks from the doorstep. The hot tubs & games room with a pool table & darts were a large hit. We didnt venture our much as the co ttages & location were so nice but the owners had left a welcome book with lots of local recommendations. Thankyou for a lovely stay, we will be back!
Glyn
Excellent holiday cottage, very comfortable and in a great location. We would visit again as enjoyed walking on the N York Moors directly. Stokesley is close by and the pub at Carlton has excellent food and cask beers but a bit of a walk away. namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

What a lovely stay we had in this hidden gem. Have already recommended to many of my dog owning friends who are always on the lookout for decent places like this where they can bring their fur babies.
Karl
Fantastic cottage and a lovely quiet peaceful location. I couldnt say any negatives about the place. It was exactly as described, lots of character and we would most certainly visit again. Lots to do in the surrounding area. A credit to the owners
Kathryn
This cottage was a gorgeous base for exploring the North Yorkshire Moors and the villages nearby. We would definitely recommend! Ruth is a fantastic host and couldn't do enough for us, even when I asked if they could turn the external lights off so we could see the Gemenids meteor shower. The hot tub is round the back of the house and you have to g o round the side and through a gate; the steps were icy so make sure you've got the right footwear and a bath robe in the colder months.
Clare
Beautiful, comfortable and cosy cottage. Just perfect.
Amy
Had a lovely stay at the Hare House with our dog, beautiful home, comfortable and lots of lovely places to go and see not too far. Hot tub always nice to relax in if not by the log burner! Highly recommend Chadwicks inn in malty for food! We explored the local hills and Yorkshire areas! Highly recommend staying here. Peace and quiet and relaxation!
Steve
Comfy well sized cottage that readily accomodated the two of us plus dog. I'm sure it would have been perfectly comfortable with 4 adults. Quiet location with local amenities a short drive away. Hot tub is a nice addition for a bit of R&R after a day out walking. Beds extremely comfortable: coming from my Mrs that really is a compliment!
Gareth
Just returned from a fantastic weeks holiday at Hare House. The property is presented to a very high standard, very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Located at the foot of the Cleveland Hills surrounded by farm land, an idyllic spot. We loved the peace and quiet, which just adds to the relaxed atmosphere. The beds and pillows are very comforta ble and everyone in our party slept like logs - probably helped by regular visits to the outside hot tub, which was lovely and warm and very relaxing.
Emma
This is real hidden gem! The location is just stunning and with such easy access to the countrywide as well as the local towns and villages. The house is so spacious and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. Perfect for our dog including blankets, towels, dog bowls. The hot tub is a perfect addition to make this a truly relaxing stay.
John
Fantastic location to visit both seaside and moors. Cottage was lovely, in a peaceful location with outstanding views. The hot tub was welcomed after a day of sight seeing and walking. Too much to see and do in a week, so we will be returning! Thanks for a great holiday!
Iain
Lovely cottage. Well equipped, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The cottage exceeded our expectations and was one of the nicest we have ever stayed in. Jonathan (Owner) and family were lovely and helpful. Hopefully we will return to Hare House again in the future
Sharon
Clean, tidy, nice bedding and towels.
Helen
I would recommend the cottage and hope to be able to visit again soon. It is a lovely area with spectacular scenery, The cottage is lovely and is equipped with everything that is needed. The hot tub is great too, It was lovely to see the animals and the wildlife. Absolutely ideal for a peaceful break
Rebecca
The cottage was nice, but with a few finishing touches could be amazing. There was no welcome pack & no kindling / logs for the log burner. There were a couple of little things that need to be sorted (shower screen shield & bathroom blind). The bed was one of the most comfortable we've slept in when away. Great to have the hot tub.
Aleksandra
Great place located in picturesque area where you are surrounded by peace and quiet. Very clean. Fantastic value for money. I would recommend it highly to anyone who loves nature and enjoys good quality places.
Janet
The cottage is in a lovely area and really good for walks however we were disappointed overall with the cottage in comparison to others we have used at a similar price bracket . Unfortunately We didnt find the cottage very clean &, the outside area with the hot tub had a gate you couldnt close and nettles ,so could be tricky if you had a wondering dog . Lacked the finer details and needed some tlc to bring it up to scratch for us
Gary
We enjoyed our stay very much. The property was very comfortable and well equipped whilst the hot tub was an added bonus . Location is perfect for exploring the Moors and the coast is within reach. We would stay again
John Eric
Peaceful and comfortable area not too out of the way for scenic drives to towns and villages. High speck cottage with everything you need including board games and wifi. A traditional log burner heats the room nicely and is supplied with kindling logs for your first night. Hot tub is clean and private surrounded by lovely flora and landscapes. Frie ndly owners.
J
Spent a lovely week at Hare Cottage. perfectly positioned for key places to visit. Hot tub was a perfect welcome after our walks.
Louise
Wonderful location but didn't feel it lived up to its 5 star rating. Only some of the jets in the hot tub worked and although we reported this no-one came to fix it or contact us subsequently. Welcome pack was also disappointing given the cost of the break and it is the only cottage where no milk has been provided on arrival. Also there was a lack of wood for the fire given the number of nights we stayed. However beds super comfy, new clean bathroom and plenty of storage.
Mary
Excellent accommodation and couldn't wish for a better setting if you love the countryside. Stokesley lovely town with everything needed and only 5min drive.
Sarah
Enjoyed a 4 night break in this beautiful cottage. Great location, great hot tub. Comfortable and cosy. Would definitely return.
Elizabeth
Great house in a beautiful country setting
Jacquelyn
Fabulous cottage, comfortable and clean! Superb log burner. Great hot tub, cant wait to revisit.
Sophie
We had a lovely 4 night stay at Hare house. The cottage itself and location is absolutely fantastic, isolated enough to get the country feel but still close enough for amenities and places to visit. The hot tub and log fire are excellent additions, especially after a cold winters day. The owners couldnt have been more helpful, we had a very small i ssue with the heating that was rectified in half an hour. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
Maxine
Hare House is lovely! The cottage is surrounded by green fields with views of horses and sheep. There are walks from the cottage, which is dog friendly, and Stokesley is a short drive away with a good array of market town shops. The hot tub is private and enclosed, but take flip flops as you cant access the rear patio directly from the house. Immac ulately clean and well presented, with games and magazines for rainy days and a well equipped kitchen. Book it, you wont be disappointed! :)
Helen
Hare House is beautiful. The setting and location is peaceful with wonderful views. There are walks on the doorstep and places to visit a short drive away. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. The towels were really thick and fluffy and plenty of them. The hot tub is a great addition just take flip flops to get to and from the hous e. Board games provided which is a nice addition. We were only there for a long weekend but we would love to go back for a longer visit.
Elaine
We had a lovely time, owners on hand to help or assist in anyway. Beautiful cottage and location, would definitely recommend and would go back again.

Big Sheep - EX39 5AP
about 18 Miles
This is a recommended day out for families with young children visiting the Bedale area of Yorkshire.  Visit the farm and receive a warm welcome as well as a guided tour.  You will have the chance to bottle feed the lambs, bath a pig and handle some of the smaller animals.  Kids will love the big sandpit and the outdoor play area. There is also a cafe and indoor play area for when the weather is not on your side.
Flamingo Land - YO60 7EW
about 22 Miles
Situated in Malton in North Yorkshire this has to be one of our favourite family days out.  It's a theme park and zoo all in one stretching over a massive 400 acres. With thrilling rides for the very daring like Cliff Hanger, Corkscrew and Kumali, there are also more gentle rides for the little ones such as Frog Hopper and Helitoys.  Family fun attractions include the 4D cinema, the lost river ride and the Little Monsters Den of Mischief. Check out their website for seasonal events which take place throughout the year and you can also gain more information about the zoo.  Flamingo Land is a resort as well as a theme park so you can also book accommodation there.
Yorkshire Lavender - YO60 6PB
about 23 Miles
Yorkshire Lavender is an amazing award winning attraction offering breathtaking panoramic views of York, a Café, Plant Nursery and Lavender Gardens. The 60 acre site is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is an excellent choice for a day trip. The onsite shops sells Lavender products such as bath and body treats, skincare, medicine and herbal remedies.
Lightwater Valley - HG4 3HT
about 23 Miles
Situated in the Ripon area of North Yorkshire this popular theme park makes a fantastic day out for the whole family.  The more daring will love the big and thrilling rides such as Raptor Attack, The Ultimate and Trauma Tower.  For the little ones there are some excellent attractions such as Flying Camels, Dodgems and a Magic Wheel.  Toddlers will like the Dragon Boats and the Lightwater Express amongst other things. There are over 40 rides and attractions in total and we think this is excellent value for money too.  If you book your tickets in advance online you can save even more money and beat the queues.
Castle Howard - YO60 7DA
about 25 Miles
Castle Howard is one of the regions most beautiful and historic landmarks and is located in 1,000 acres of parkland with breathtaking gardens to explore. As well as exploring the castle visitors can enjoy attractios including the unique Land Train - the best way to see the entire park. There is also a large lake offering boat trips during the summer months. In high season the site is very popular with families and offers organised activities for children including tours, talks, crafting and animal encounters. The site also has a Nature Trail which is fun for the whole family and an Adventure Playground where children can run off some energy.
Fountains Abbey - HG4 3DY
about 27 Miles
This is an outstanding world heritage site located close to Ripon in the North Yorkshire area. Nature lovers will be in their element with an abundance of wide open spaces to explore and there are special guided tours for families.  Some of the highlights may include seeing wild deer and bats during your visit.  The grounds are fantastic to wander round but there is also an Elizabethan Mansion, Victorian Church, Georgian Water Garden and the finest example of Cistercian Abbey ruins in the country - Well worth a visit!
The Grainary Wildlife Farm - YO25 3HS
about 28 Miles
Located in Harwood Dale Village, North Yorkshire we think this attraction makes a superb family day out and couples will also enjoy the nature walks in the area.  There are 6 nature walks in total surrounding the farm so walkers and lovers of the outdoors will be in their element. Some of our favourite walks include the Spring Flowers, Pond and Village walk which takes around 35 minutes, and the Meadow and Trees walk which takes one hour.
