Weve just spent a wonderful week in Kinmount Garden Cottage and honestly didnt want to leave! It was spacious, cosy, clean and warm with everything that we could possibly need for even the rainiest of days (of which we had a few!). The four of us were in our element! We enjoyed our holiday at this cottage. The estate is beautiful and well placed to pop into the shops at Annan. We visited lots of places in and around Dumfries . I didnt notice when I booked that the garden wasnt enclosed which was a negative for us

I have just returned from a week's stay at kinmount garden cottage. I can honestly say this was the most perfect and relaxing stay. This property was exceptional loved every minute of our stay there, the extensive grounds are perfect for long walks and ideal for walking the dig too

Lovely cottage but a non-functioning broadband really is a no-go with a family with 3 teenagers and a workaholic. I am sure there are people specifically looking to go offline during holidays, but not us. An update on the specification of the cottage would be advisable, since it did promise broadband at the time. An honest spec would have saved a l ot of frustrations...
Penny
We had a wonderful relaxing stay and the location is great. Lovely walks around the grounds available on the doorstep but also close to major routes for getting around. Broadband is terrible but it says it will be upgraded soon.
carol
The cottage was amazing very spacious, lovely decor , couldnt fault it.
Wendy
The cottage was stunning from the inside out every room had been well thought out.
Sam
Absolutely great, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, plenty of space, cracking hot tub and everything was spotless.
Nicola
We hired the cottage for a friends getaway and it did not disappoint. Our weekend break was fantastic. The cottage had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. Great fun playing pool and relaxing together. Walks around the estate were beautiful and we ventured to visit nearby beaches and walks. We all commented how wonderful the cottage was and that we will be returning as a group again. Lots of laughter and memories made, thank you for a lovely stay.
Dawn
Wow - what a gem! Had an absolutely fantastic week at Kinmount Gardens Cottage - our first trip to Scotland. It exceeded our expectations. The cottage is well appointed, spacious, comfortable and warm and set in gorgeous grounds. We enjoyed walking around the lake most days and even saw the deer on a couple of occasions. The gorgeous hot tub and po ol table were an added bonus. Would certainly recommend for those seeking luxury, peace and tranquillity
Heather
Absolutely loved our stay at the cottage as did our Giant Schnauzer Fergus!. So clean, comfortable and warm with everything we needed for a lovely stay. Hot tub was fantastic too. Highly recommended.
John
Another wonderful week in stunning Gardens Cottage.
Hazel
Our stay at the garden cottage was pretty perfect and I would highly recommend. The hosts were always on hand to help, hot tub amazing. Privacy was lovely. Sofas, Beds and bedding luxury and comfortable. Pool table was fun, the space is huge and even better in life. Three toilets is a bonus. All on one level and very accessible. The walks in the gr ounds surrounding are simply stunning. Would love to go back in warmer months. We had the best weekend. Short drive to Annan which is lovely.
Jennifer

A beautifully finished cottage in a lovely location. We found the cottage to be well equipped, and had everything we needed for our stay. Lovely walk from the cottage around the Kinmount estate, and Kinmount House is spectacular!
Helen
The Garden Cottage is absolutely fantastic. The cottage is so spacious, with generous bedrooms and living space. The pool table was well used by our group and the quiet surroundings made for a really peaceful stay. We would highly recommend a total here.
David
Lovely cottage in a quiet area. Supermarkets near but you do need to drive.
Elizabeth
Lovely property, high spec and spotless. We stayed for 3 days and the weather was lovely. We made use of the hot tub and pool table. Great walks on the doorstep. Dogs and all the family thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we plan to return in 2023. Highly recommend.
Shona
We had a lovely time at Kinmount Cottage, the grounds and house were beautiful.
Juergen Rudi
A fantastic place to stay - we'd love to come back!
Kimberley
We 100% recommend Kinmount Gardens as a place to stay for a comfortable luxury holiday. Everything was perfect from cleanliness to comfort of the bedding and beds to the temperature of the building. It was so quiet and peaceful and we found it difficult to venture out of the property on a few occasions. Kids loved the hot tub and pool table as did the adults. We really hope we can stay again one day. Thank you.
Lynn
Cottage was very large with plenty room. Very clean and everything there you need for a comfortable stay. Hot tub pool table great extras. Enjoyed by all.
Elaine
Fabulous place for a peaceful getaway and within easy driving distance of a host of attractions north and south of the border. The grounds are picturesque and lovely to walk in. The space in the cottage is fantastic and very accessible. In particular the master bedroom ensuite wet room is very spacious and proved invaluable for my mum and aunt (bot h in their eighties with mobility challenges). The cottage is well equipped and has everything we needed for a perfect break.
Kimberley
Beautiful house and great for my bridesmaids to stay the night before our wedding! Also great for us the night of our wedding! Well stocked with all we needed. Lots of space and lovely and warm. Such a homely place with a country feel.
Gill
An absolutely lovely cottage in a lovely setting. The bed was amazingly comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped. Loads of space, great shower,. Lake area beautiful and despite being near to the A75, it felt quiet and peaceful. We didn't use the hot tub, so can't comment on that other than it is in a great setting. The broadband was frustratingly slow but our mobiles did work well most of the time. The best most comfortable cottage we have stayed in.
Julie
Oh my goodness this place was AMAZING in every single way! Just perfect, loved it! Beautiful property and interiors. The pool table was a brilliant feature in our eyes, with a 14 and 10 yr old family fun!! The hot tub had great seating and was so relaxing. Area was so picturesque and peaceful. We went on early morning walks just to see the deer in the woods. Saw a kingfisher down by the lake too - really wished Id taken my big camera. Could not fault this holiday- ABSOLUTELY AMAZING
Stephen
Gorgeous accommodation, every aspect is high quality with everything you would need plus more. Beautifully decorated, fine furnishings with the most comfortable beds. Beautiful surroundings, peaceful and tranquil, with excellent facilities such as hot-tub and pool table. Highly recommended, 5 star
Sara
Stunning location. Wonderful spacious, clean property with everything you could need and more. Central to everything whether it be for adults or children. Time in the hot tub made a perfect end to everyday. Highly recommend
Alasdair
Fantastic cottage in a beautiful part of Scotland. Spacious, clean, comfortable. The house in a large country house estate thats fun to explore and has an abundance of wildlife on show. 4 miles from a couple of good restaurants and large supermarket.
Brian
Our family stayed at the cottage over the week of our daughters wedding at Kinmount House. Kinmount is a world-class wedding venue and the cottage is fitting accomodation to match. The photos and description of the house on the website were spot-on. We loved the tranquil location, walks in the grounds, meals on the terrace. In fact everything about our stay. The owners need to be congratulated on everything they are doing at Kinmount. It was truly a week we will never forget.
David
Lovely location and great accommodation, quiet and very comfortable but within easy driving distance of shops and facilities in Annan and Dumfries. Great access for trips to the coast and Galloway National Forest, but equally recommended for just unwinding in the grounds of Kinmount House, playing some pool and enjoying the hot tub. Our dog enjoyed himself so much he slept for 2 days when we got back. Thoroughly recommend, and we will be back.
Keeley
Cottage is filthy. We were greeted by overflowing bins and cigarette butts. Every room needs a deep clean and then to be kept on top of in between guests. Ive uploaded supporting pictures to tripadvisor most of which were taken after they had resent cleaners in! Holiday cottages helped us get a small refund upon our return. Its absolutely disgracef ul cottages of this standard are allowed to be rented. The property is now being monitored by Holiday Cottages.co.uk. Do Not Book! Waste of money!
Tracey
It was a lovely property in a lovely setting. Close to local amenities and tourist attractions. The pool table and hot tub were a great addition and such a treat at the end of the day. Sure to book again in the future.
Jess
A Gorgeous house set within lovely grounds. The pictures don't do it justice. Very clean and well equipped. The hot tub and pool table were very much enjoyed after a day out sight seeing. A Previous review stated it was pay to play ( we stocked up on coins to take) but it wasn't when we stayed. Super comfy beds. WiFi wasn't great but it wasn't an i ssue for us but I can see some family's might struggle with techy kids and withdrawal symptoms! Great location for sight seeing. Thanks
Shona
Fab family holiday in this spacious, beautiful & peaceful home. Spotlessly clean, surrounded by woodland, logs to make roaring fires, perfect anecdote to a tough year. Owners were really helpful when we couldn't work the heating and were cosy in no time! Walk in shower ideal for limited mobility. Hot tub just across from the house with view of the forest was lush, with good broad steps for easy access. Lovely walks for the dog and us, including a parent with restricted mobility.
Kirsty
The cottage exceeded our expectations by miles and the grounds it sits within are beautiful. It was a much needed restful few nights away and the hot tub was great. We plan on coming back when we can! Also the comfiest beds!

Mabie Farm Park - DG2 8EZ
about 10 Miles
Mabie Farm Park is a firm favourite. Ideal for families with younger children ,this family oriented farm park has lots of animals to meet and also offers Donkey Rides, Paddle Boats and Slides as well as Trampolines and Bouncy Castles. Kids can run around on the Soft Play Area while mum and dad relax in the Tea Room. There is also a Farm Shop onsite selling toys, gifts and fresh local produce including cakes and jams. Seasonal activities can also be enjoyed including a spookly tea and walk on Haloween. The Farm closes for the winter on October 31st.
Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 18 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 22 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Castle Douglas - DG7 1TJ
about 23 Miles
We also recommend a visit to Castle Douglas and the Treasure Hunt Treasure Trails. These treasure hunts are great fun for the whole family and are an entertaining way to explore a new town or village. Children will enjoy solving the clues whilst learning about the history of the area. The walking trail is suitable for wheelchair users and those with pushchairs so no one is left out of the fun.
