Maria
Brilliant host. clean and spacious accommodation. We loved the hot tub and pool table. Would definitely recommend. Cant wait to go back!
Andrew
House was great, however through out the week, we had the neighbour come into the garden unannounced to futter about with the hot tub, not once . Obviously there was something wrong with it and nothing was saying d to us. The neighbour who knew nothing about treating water was just pouring chemicals into the tub. Nothing was measured. The tub smell ed had a very strang chemical smell.House was clean. and situated in a nice neighborhood. Very close to the shops and the bus runs right by the house.
Kelly
Great property location for exploring South Scotland and the hot tub was an amazing addition to come back to after a day exploring. The property could do with a little updating but as you spend so little time there it is perfectly adequate.
Rowena
Lovely cottage and spotlessly clean, the hot tub was heavenly and the pool table a welcome extra. We enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend this place to anyone. The owner also left lots of little extras for us on arrival - a lovely gesture to further compliment this holiday
Joanne
As a family we wanted a short break a couple of hours from home. Wed never visited southern Scotland before but thought the whole area of Dumfries and the Solway Coast was beautiful. The house is in a perfect location with easy access to all facilities. The house is comfortable, modern and exceptionally clean. The welcome package was huge and was v ery welcomed- thank you. They even left dog treats for our dog which he loved. Finally, the hot tub and games area were a fantastic addition.
Lynn

a very comfortable house with everything you need for a relaxing break. dumfries town centre is a 30minute walk from kirklands and in 10 mins walk from the house you can reach open countryside for lovely scenic dag walks. the local pub is very welcoming and dog friendly, and the shop is pretty well stocked with the essentials needed on a break. we made use of the pool table and the table football, both in the garage, on a rainy day, and used the fabulous hot tub every day whatever the weather!
Angela

Mabie Farm Park - DG2 8EZ
about 3 Miles
Mabie Farm Park is a firm favourite. Ideal for families with younger children ,this family oriented farm park has lots of animals to meet and also offers Donkey Rides, Paddle Boats and Slides as well as Trampolines and Bouncy Castles. Kids can run around on the Soft Play Area while mum and dad relax in the Tea Room. There is also a Farm Shop onsite selling toys, gifts and fresh local produce including cakes and jams. Seasonal activities can also be enjoyed including a spookly tea and walk on Haloween. The Farm closes for the winter on October 31st.
Castle Douglas - DG7 1TJ
about 17 Miles
We also recommend a visit to Castle Douglas and the Treasure Hunt Treasure Trails. These treasure hunts are great fun for the whole family and are an entertaining way to explore a new town or village. Children will enjoy solving the clues whilst learning about the history of the area. The walking trail is suitable for wheelchair users and those with pushchairs so no one is left out of the fun.
Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 27 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 29 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
