Beautiful lodge and the view is absolutely stunning. Such a lovely location and very peaceful couldnt have asked for anything more. Highly recommended!
One of the best breaks away we have had, the lodge and facilities were outstanding. We ordered the breakfast and steak pack, the food was of the best quality. The guide book online was a great touch and helped us with any questions we had. Angie the owner was lovely and was just a text away. We also used the suggested taxi service, the driver couldn't of been more helpful. Would highly recommend Laird lodges and we will definitely be back for another stay.

We booked a staycation this year and I came across these beautiful lodges as we had plans too visit busy Edinburgh that weekend we thought we would try a few days here and we were so glad we did! The lodges are beautiful and so well appointed with everything you need too have a relaxing few days. On arrival the fridge was stocked with a lovely bottle of Prosecco and some local goodies which was a lovely touch! The robes and slippers were a lovely addition too! The lodge itself was extremely comfortable I dont sleep great in other beds but I slept like a baby! The boys loved the open space and of course the hot tub with incredible views over the Lochmaben area! The hosts were great and well informed of places we could visit the Galloway Activity Centre being one of them our boys absolutely loved it! All in all a beautiful place would highly recommend and would love too visit again maybe with extended family! Thanks for a lovely stay! Caroline Jamie Ryan & Dylan HUGHES FAMILY
We have just had the most amazing stay at Laird Lodges. I thought it looked gorgeous in the photos when we booked but it was even better in real life! The pod with hot tub was perfect. Everything was really clean and well thought out as well as being really tastefully furnished. The views are stunning especially when your viewpoint is from the hot tub or the large egg chair ! We used the BBQ a couple of times which was great and enjoyed chatting to other guests up at the fire pit. The bed and sofa bed were really comfy and we slept really well. Angie was so friendly, helpful and accommodating. Already thinking about booking out all 5 pods for our extended family!
On arrival we received a hamper with local goodies and a bottle of prosecco. The lodges are in a fantastic setting only 1520 minutes from Dumfries, very peaceful and relaxing with fantastic views from the hot tub. The owners Angie and Andy couldn't be more helpful.

We had a fantastic 3 night stay at lodge 2, with our 2 wee boys. Angie and Andy were so lovely, the lodges are beautiful and the location is just gorgeous. The attention to detail within the lodges, and outside, as well as the use of local products was amazing. The local recommendations were also great my boys particularly enjoyed their time at the Eskrigg Reserve. Thanks for a wonderful and memorable holiday!

Mabie Farm Park is a firm favourite. Ideal for families with younger children ,this family oriented farm park has lots of animals to meet and also offers Donkey Rides, Paddle Boats and Slides as well as Trampolines and Bouncy Castles. Kids can run around on the Soft Play Area while mum and dad relax in the Tea Room. There is also a Farm Shop onsite selling toys, gifts and fresh local produce including cakes and jams. Seasonal activities can also be enjoyed including a spookly tea and walk on Haloween. The Farm closes for the winter on October 31st.

We also recommend a visit to Castle Douglas and the Treasure Hunt Treasure Trails. These treasure hunts are great fun for the whole family and are an entertaining way to explore a new town or village. Children will enjoy solving the clues whilst learning about the history of the area. The walking trail is suitable for wheelchair users and those with pushchairs so no one is left out of the fun.

about 26 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
