About Little Chestnut

This most impressive and immaculately-presented semi-detached cottage is privately situated in the pretty village of Muir of Ord, just north of the Highland capital city Inverness. Little Chestnut is set beside the owner’s home, but offers complete privacy to guests who wish to pamper themselves in this luxurious property.

The cottage is ideal for a family or group of friends who will not only appreciate the beauty of the area, but also the comfort, style and facilities in this property. A tarmac driveway leads around to the front door and large parking area and you will be immediately impressed with the style and space both inside and out.

With great attention to detail, the owners have provided thoughtful extras to ensure guests want for nothing. At ground floor level there is a sociable open plan kitchen/dining room that leads through to a sunny sitting room, a perfect place for family relaxation.

On the ground floor are a king-size double bedroom and contemporary shower room, with two further bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor. The property simply oozes style and comfort, and just a few yards across the courtyard is a detached log cabin fitted out with a generously proportioned hot tub, a sauna and shower facilities.

Next door to the leisure suite is a fabulous BBQ hut where cooking on the large central fire will be an exciting experience and guests will certainly enjoy the ambience of the hut along with a glass of wine or two! Muir of Ord has good local facilities, including a golf club, plus there are a number of clubs within a 20 mile radius.

There's also so much to see and do in this magnificent region. A trip to Loch Ness for some monster spotting is always fun or perhaps try some pony trekking at the nearby stables.

Little Chestnut Reviews

Michelle
We loved coming back to Little Chestnut, it's like a home away from home as it has everything you need, this time we stayed two weeks. Ken & Theresa are very welcoming and were in contact with us through out our holiday. Theresa knocked the door to let us know that the Northern lights were out. Which was a lovely thing to see and tick of our bucket list. It was lovely coming back to the sauna & hot tub after a cold day out. And we are already looking forward to returning for our next visit.
Far exceeded our expectations. It is the best cottage we have ever stayed in. We would give it 6 stars if we could. Will be immediately be booking a return visit
Excellent stay, great hosts and everything that we needed was supplied and the welcome gifts were an added treat. Ideally situated to explore the Cairngorms and the West coast. Impeccably kept property throughout and the leisure suite with hot tub and sauna make The Little Chestnut a perfect place to relax and unwind. The BBQ cabin was a great experience and just finished off the holiday perfectly..
We had a great week in the house and would definitely come back.

Little chestnut is truly an outstanding property, a W O W house ,every home comfort you need, with few extra features. The Hot tub so lovely to relax in & a comfortable bed to sleep in at end of days sightseeing. Cleanliness second to none!!! On arrival we were greeted by Ken, a very warm friendly man, unfortunately we didnt meet Theresa , but did communicate before our holiday, which was very helpful & informative, recommended few places to see & as everything went smoothly in the house we didnt need to bother them. We were left a lovely welcome pack which was appreciated. The garden was beautiful, pity it wasnt summertime as Im sure itll be a lovely garden to relax in! Our first visit to Scotland, absolutely stunningly beautiful country with gorgeous scenery, very friendly people, loved it , thinking of visiting ? then Id highly suggest you book little chestnut you wont be disappointed.
I must express my astonishment! If you ever have the opportunity to reside in this location, you will undoubtedly find it to be exceptional. This establishment offers an array of amenities that exceed one's expectationsample space, a cosy atmosphere, and every need meticulously addressed. The sole regret we experienced was having to bid farewell.
The house is a home from home. Clean and well maintained to a high standard. Very private location. Couldn't fault the property or service provided. The owners are very friendly.
This is the most awesome holiday home! Everything you could ever want is there, plus the wonderful owners!!

We have just spent 2 weeks staying at Little Chestnut which is the perfect holiday home. In fact is one of the best properties we have stayed in. It was quiet, private and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. It was also immaculately clean which has not always been the case with a couple of previous properties we have stayed in. The added extras of the hot tub and sauna were very much enjoyed especially by our teenage son. The photos on Sykes do not do this place justice. We would definitely recommend and we hope to return very soon. It is a great base for exploring the Highlands. We have had a fabulous holiday. Thank you to Theresa & Ken for such a fabulous place.

Third visit. Amazing house and location. Cant fault it allows you to unwind and recharge.
A beautiful property, in a wonderful location. The main house has everything you could want, the decoration and furnishings are perfect. The external leisure suite is an ideal way to begin or end the day. Would definitely visit again.
Lovely clean property with outstanding facilities. Great base to tour the Highlands.

Lovely place to stay. Everything you could possibly need has been provided and the house is in a great location to explore the Highlands.
Little Chestnut was an amazing house, the perfect retreat and it was in a lovely location, it was well equipped with everything and more that you might need, plus added extras hot tub, sauna and a bbq hut. Lovely welcome gifts too. would highly recommend.
Well appointed cottage. Amazing hot tubsaunabbq facilitiy. Handy for touring Black Isle and the Highlands
Excellent facilities, very clean, easy to checkin and a great location. Everyone friendly both on arrival and leaving the place is very private with plenty of parking and the feeling that you are on the middle of a wooded park. You have everything you need and more with the hot tub and sauna in a brilliant separate facility for all weathers. The BBQ hut was brillianl and made you feel you we on Finland.
Fabulous house, amazing leisure suite with the barbecue cabin the icing on the cake! Owners available if you need them, but the house is still very private. Hope to stay again 5

Lovely stay with fantastic facilities.
We greatly enjoyed our stay in Liitle Chesnut which is really a full size 3bedroom property, extremely well equipped and immaculately clean. Anyone who appreciates Quality, Style, and Good Planning need look no further than this property. The owners, Theresa, Ken, and daughter Louise are discreetly on hand next door if required, and yet you have total privacy. A lot of thought has gone into the presentation of the property and it shows throughout. In addition to a very comfortable home for your stay the location is excellent for day trips out should you wish, with easy access to east and west coasts, and a little further gets you to the top of the British mainland. Thanks very much to our hosts. Ann & David Wallwork
The property is absolutely stunning and finished to a very high standard. When entering the property it's clear that attention to detail and cleanliness is extremely important to the owners and this reflects through out the property. Everything you need is available including towels and bedding. There are also additional towels, robes and slippers available for use within the hot tub sauna which is a fantastic addition to the property as well as a bbq house. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay within Little Chessnut and wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Little Chestnut is a great home to stay in! it is very clean, modern, worm and well equipped house. Host is very friendly and warm welcome! House benefits a lot from hot tube and sauna, and bbq house. it is very quite as well, and very relaxing to stay in. Highly recommend this place.

Nothing to say about accommodation only the poor service provided by Sykes Couldnt even respond to an email complaint or do anything to help us. Will certainly refrain from using their services any time soon even though we have booked over 30 holidays previously you certainly let us down this time.
Little Chestnut was a beautiful cottage, perfect for a relaxing holiday but a great location to explore the surrounding area. The hot tub was lovely as was the whole place.
Thomas
Wow what can I say little chestnut was simply amazing the cleanliness was on a different level both owners were fantastic warm and welcoming they explained everything and was only to happy to offer to ring local places if we wanted to book meals etc but even though their house is attached they gave us perfect privacy they have thought of literally everything you will want for nothing in little chestnut the standard of the home is exceptional and the facilities are fantastic we cannot express how much we enjoyed ourselves in this wonderful holiday let the location is great and we certainly used the owners recommendations on day trips we have had a great rest due to the sauna and hot tub facilities and bbq hut and everyone in the village and surrounding villages were so friendly I have recommended little chestnut to as meny friends as I can and dont be surprised if we rebook in the future ! !! Thank you so much to the owners
Absolutely amazing holiday home with hot tub and sauna and everything you need. .wonderful quiet location will definitely be back... highly recommended...
The Little Chestnut was absolutely perfect. We received a warm welcome from Teressa plus a chilled bottle of Prosecco. Teressa also loaned us a map and gave us some travel tips too. The house had everything you could need for a perfect break. There is plenty of room for six people and even children's cutlery. There is lots of room outside too and even undercover parking for one car. All the washing and drying facilities you need. It was so peaceful, quiet and secluded. This is the perfect holiday home and a great base for exploring Scotland. I highly recommend the Little Chestnut.
Our holiday was made amazing by this lovely property which was described perfectly. Secluded and modern, the property was lovely, clean, tidy and had all mod cons with additional touches to make the holiday easier. Fantastic.
What can we say about Litttle Chestnut, that hasnt already been said in earlier reviews. Its a great place to stay at and the area caters for a large variety of reasons why you should consider booking it. The Family have done an awesome job in creating the right environment with everything thats included needed. It wants for nothing hot tube sauna & BBQ and is within easy walking reach of the Town and other amenities. Coming back to reality, the prices for 2022 are a big difference compared to 2021 though. Great place to stay ,excellent facilities and good position for touring the Highlands in Scotland. Also there is under cover for motorcycles if its raining and a brilliant Hottub to ease those aches and pains after a good day riding.
Gillian
More than expected this cottage was brilliant with everything that we needed and much more The leisure suite was lovely so much thought has been put into this. Little Chestnut is immaculate and spacious. Everything is quality , even the crockery , pots and pans etc was of a really high standard. Muir of Ord is a great base for exploring the highlands and my husband enjoyed the nearby golf course and we all had a great time on a boat trip on Loch Ness .We went to book for next year but we just cant afford the jump in price. Which is such a shame but understandable with the current situation .This year we paid 838.00 including booking fee, but the same week next year it will be 1369.00 which is just to much of a jump for us. We loved this place and are sad we wont be able to return because of how the price has jumped for all weeks. Otherwise we would have no hesitation in booking this property again

Nicest holiday cottage weve ever stayed in. The house was spotless and the facilities were fantastic! Hot tub and bbq hut were also a bonus! Close to the station and coop and not too far away from Inverness town and other attractions. Would love to stay again!
Geraldine
Very private and quiet part of the village. Hosts were charming and professional. Very central for our needs. Would definitely visit again. Geraldine and family.
Little Chestnut is the perfect holiday home, and so much more. Every single little detail has been thought of, and it has everything you could possibly need to ensure a great holiday. Highly recommended. Thank u Theresa.
We first stayed at Little Chestnut 4 years ago and it is still as immaculate as it was back then, everything you could possibly need and lovely friendly owners who go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay. Well worth the long drive up from Cornwall, we had an amazing holiday.
