The house exceeded our expectations. Beautiful, spacious and well equipped. The welcome basket was a lovely surprise. We really enjoyed our stay.
What a lovely house, big, spacious rooms clean and full of everything you need, a real home from home. Although it was just 2 of us, it's certainly big enough for 8 and it still wouldn't feel crowded. Tastefully decorated with a Scottish charm. 2 log fires, 1 in the living room and kitchen for those cold winter evenings, a traditional Aga stove which was easy to use but for those not brave enough there's a ceramic hob and fan assisted oven. Pizza oven in the outside kitchen and the hot tub were just the icing on he cake. Contact with the owner was easy and she was very responsive when we had a question prior to arriving and during the stay. Round and about there are plenty of walks, amazing waterfalls, castles and historic places to visit. There's a co op which is well stocked 5 mins drive and supermarkets within 15 mins. Not sure if the pub was closed due to it being November but Inverness is 20 mins away and worth the visit. All in all we would highly recommend Orinside.

What an amazing house, so comfortable with everything and more you could ever need. The hot tub was so nice on a cool night, then going into the house to a nice warm fire. Emma kept in touch with us before & during our stay to make sure everything was OK, which was very nice. Would go back in a heartbeat and really didnt want to come home
The property was stunning, a lovely welcome basket provided for us by the owners was a lovely thought . Its the first property we have been to where the owners got in touch to see if we needed anything before we got there and during the stay
This is our second visit and it was just as good as we remembered it from last year! The property it so well equipped theres nothing that it doesnt have! Comfy beds and sofas and the outside sitting area, hot tub and pizza oven area are fantastic! Well be back!
We had a fabulous stay at Orrinside. We were already familiar with the area but it has everything surrounding and a great location for day trips. The house has everything you need and really homely. We used the pizza oven following the great instructions left in the house handbook. The hot tub is great and the facilities are all up to date and very accommodating. Beds are all nice and comfy with plenty space. Fantastic holiday was had by all!
A lovely home in a great location. The facilities were exactly as advertised and we found Orrinside to be a very well decorated and furnished, very comfortable home. Our host was proactive and thoughtful during our stay with helpful messages about the house and things to do in the area. We will return again!

Our stay at Orrinside in Muir of Ord was incredible. The house was in great shape upon arrival. It was much larger than expected which allowed the 8 of us to all have a very comfortable time. Bedrooms were large with cabinets allowing us to unpack our luggage for the 5 nights we stayed. The kitchen was spacious with a dishwasher, large fridge with water and ice dispenser. The three bathrooms were also large and lovely. We went on many walks as there were many walking trails within walking distance from the home. Everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The property was very well taken care of with a lovely yard in the back. The hot tub was perfect for a couple of our big traveling We would definitely come back if ever in the area. Clearly a very loved home. Thank you!
Nicholas
A lovely, charming, cottage wellsituated in a relatively central area of Scotland. The house itself is nice, very clean, with a well equipped and goodsized kitchen. The bedrooms were of a good size with comfortable beds, and all of the bathrooms were nice and modern. Outside, the hot tub and pizzaoven are nice extras to have, both of which we made use of! Muir of Ord is a small village surrounded by lots beautiful areas of nature, locally and within an hour drive. Highlights include The Cairngorms Loch Morlich is a must visit!, Bad Girl Bakery in Muir of Ord, and Rosemarkie beach. We are amazed at the variety Scotland has to offer and we barely managed to scratch the surface in the week we had. This cottage in Muir of Ord provided a great base to go exploring from and we cant wait to return in the future!
Wonderful stay at orinside couldnt fault it . lots of walks on the doorstep and interesting thing to do near by.if I did have to raise a suggestion a tumble drier would be useful other than that 10 out of 10
Beautiful property in a stunning location. Very comfortable and the hot tub is an amazing bonus after a day of site seeing. Loved it!
No problem with the accommodation it was first class
Gareth
Absolutely beautiful throughout. Well equipped and communication with owner was great too. We will definitely be back
We couldnt have asked for better to spend our Christmas vacation. Orrinside is just beautiful, specious, well equipped with lovely decorations up for Christmas. Some fabulous nods to the distillery next door too. We enjoyed cosy nights in with the the log fires burning and even enjoyed the hot tub under the canopy whilst watching the snow fall. The bedrooms were vey tastefully decorated and all 3 bathrooms were spotlessly clean with underfloor heating and towels, robes, slippers and soap available for us all. Communication with Emma was 2nd to none and nothing too much trouble, giving hints and tips of where to go and even giving us advice on cooking Christmas dinner in the Aga and had she even put Christmas crockery there for us to use. I wouldnt hesitate on staying at Orrinside again next time we are up and will be highly recommending it to everyone!! Thank you from us all for a fabulous stay xxx

Orrinside was a beautiful house with all the amenities you could wish for. We had a relaxing time sitting in front of the fire or enjoying the hot tub. There was a smart TV with Netflix etc as well for the rainiercolder days. The bed was comfortable and the huge bathrooms were all beautiful with underfloor heating. There are lots of reminders around too that this house once belonged to the Distillery too. The Xmas decorations were a nice personal touch, as was the robes, slippers, soaps and welcome pack. The aga was amazing to cook on, I used it a lot. The grounds were very nest and well tended. All in all it was a very nice holiday experience. The Owner was very helpful and easily contactable. Thanks again, we had a lovely holiday experience and I'm sure we will be back again!
Host was excellent pre visit introducing herself via whattsapp and answering any questions we had for her. She arranged a birthday cake and card for my wife, alongside what Im guessing was the usual welcome pack. The property is large and comfy and has some great features like the hot tub, an Aga and the wood burners in both living rooms. The kitchen was where we spent the most time as the Aga was a novelty for us and I now really want to own one one day! The house is a great place to explore the surrounding area, would definitely recommend and would visit again in a heartbeat. Thanks for having us, Ben & family with 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks.
Owner very friendly and helpful. Goes out of her way to make you feel welcome.
Stephen
The cottage was stunning. Gorgeously decorated and very well equipped everything was to such a high standard. We would have been proud and fortunate to have called it our own! We made full use of the hot tub, pizza oven and BBQ which were all great additions to a lovely cottage. Our party consisted of 4 adults and two collie dogs and there was plenty of space for us all, inside and out the garden was great for the dogs. The cottage is ideally located to use as a base for exploring the local area. Emma was so helpful with guidance and suggestions for places to visit and to eat. Our problem now is how do we find another cottage as good as Orrinside for next year!!
What an amazing property, beautifully presented and with the most well equipped kitchen weve ever had in a holiday property which makes life so much easier! We were lucky with the weather and managed to have breakfast or lunch outside on the decking most days. The location is stunning and peaceful but not too far from anywhere which allowed us to explore different parts of the area, Fortrose, Rosemarkie, Strathpeffer, Beauly etc. as well as fitting in a few games of golf. The bbq and pizza oven are a great addition as is the hot tub after a long day. Would definitely recommend Orrinside to friends and family and will hopefully be back for another stay. Emma was a great host too.
Arriving at Orrinside we were greeted with an immaculately presented house with all the white goods you would expect plus more kitchen equipment than we usually get. It made cooking a dream. The bedrooms are all very tastefully decorated and the beds are really comfortable. Outside is the pizza oven and BBQ which we made full use of. The best was definitely the hot tub, which after a long walk was a welcome sight. Emma is an excellent host with lots of information on arrival as well as ideas for things to do. I would highly recommend this property.
Orrinside is one of the best properties we have stayed in, and communication with the owner Emma is second to none. We wouldnt have thought it possible, but the property is even more stunning in person. The views over the barley fields every morning is amazing, especially when the wind is blowing. Such a peaceful location, yet only a short drive to Inverness, Strathpeffer and Beauly. Whether you want a chilled break doing nothing but relaxing in the hot tub, and going for local walks or venturing further out to visit the west coast, Orrinside is the number one choice. We will definitely be back!
Lovely spacious house ,peaceful location but easy walk to village. Owner has thought of everything for your comfort, best equipped holiday home we have stayed in. We all enjoyed and will definitely return.
We had a lovely week at Orrinside and owner Emma was brilliant during our stay. Large garden for the dog and the Aga, Pizza Oven and Hot Tub were a bonus. Would highly recommend
Nadine
The cottage was very comfortable and had lots of space and amenities. We had a wonderful time. The kids loved the hot tub. It was in a great location near to the distillery. The only negative comment is that this property was advertised as wheelchair accessible and it wasn't fully accessible. There was a step to get into the property so my husband needed assistance to get into the property each time and in the wet room on the ground floor there wasn't any grab rails or a shower stool.
Colin A
Beautiful, substantial house which was very well appointed with great garden and hot tub facilities, great place to relax after a busy day exploring the highlands. We would definitely recommend and book again if we ever look to stay in this area again.
Danielle
Absolutely lovely house and the owners were so nice, friendly and helpful. We had such a good time. The only thing we would suggest is having the option of splitting one of the doubles into a twin think they are called zip beds. Just for kids or if you have friends stopping together in the same room. The facilities were amazing especially the pizza oven and the hot tub. We would highly recommend. There is so much to do within an hours drive of Muir of Ord. Lovely walks, mountain tubing, aqua park, crazy golf, parks, fishing and shopping etc. Would just like to say a massive thank you to Emma who was always at the other end of the phone if we needed any advice or help with something.
My friends and I have enjoyed a most relaxing time in this lovely cottage. The cottage has fabulous views , very comfortable and well equipped. The weather was splendid. Emma the landlady has been in touch to make sure we have everything we need while we are over there. We will be back again for sure
The property is lovely and even more comfortable and spacious than the photos suggested. There is real attention to detail and the home is very well equipped. Information is easy to follow and Emma was a very considerate and solicitous owner who was helpful with recommendations etc. We didnt do a great deal in a wintry week but that was fine. The area is beautiful of course and there is enough interest in local villages and towns. We will return to this area again and would certainly look to stay at Orrinside again if we do.
Steven
A fantastic week. A great place to relax to enjoy the beautiful Highlands. House very comfortable and clean and has everything you would need. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone.
Hayley
Fantastic holiday home! Extremely well equipped and finished to a very high standard. The communication with the owners was brilliant with lots of recommendations for local eateries and places to visit. The aga, outside oven and hot tub are all extras which help to make this a really special place to stay. Would definitely book again!
We've been coming to Scotland for the last 5years & this property was our favourite so far. ...to the point we are booking it twice next year. Totally an amazing house & it's perfect.
Beautifully furnished well equipped cottage. Ideal for large family gatheringsspacious throughoutclean and well put together.Gorgeous bathrooms. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. All the extras from dog bowls to cot bedding were appreciated. The pizza oven and hot tub which was easy to use and added a special je ne sais quoi to an already lovely stay. Great place with great places to visit reasonably close .Lovely helpful hosts that made us feel supported for our stay and communicated well.Would definitely stay again.Could not believe we were able to book this property at fairly short notice.
Brendan
What a fantastic place to stay! Three generations of our family spent Christmas here and it was one of the best family holidays we have had. The house is amazing, as is the location. We had great communication from the owner, who made sure any requests were actioned, and they genuinely wanted to make sure we had a holiday to remember. We'd recommend Orrinside to anyone you won't be disappointed!
Annabel
Amazing property with amazing facilities. Just a short walk away from the nearest village. And lots of sights to see, with a short driving distance.
Joanne
We could not have asked for a better place to take a little break and relax and we couldn't have had better hosts. The cottage really exceeded our expectations and the attention to detail made our stay that extra bit special. We will definitely be back and could not rate the host and home more highly. Wonderful
Nicole
This house is special. It is absolutely beautiful inside and out with every possible detail carefully designed with guests in mind. The house is beautifully decorated, spacious and comfortable, the photos online do not do it justice. We have loved every moment of our holiday , the location is perfect for exploring parts of glorious Scotland. The views from the house alone and the amount of wildlife close by is breathtaking. This house is a gem. The owners are fantastic at communicating and recommending local eateries and places to visit. Thank you to Emma and the team . Do not hesitate to book this house! You will not be disappointed!
We were disappointed and did not feel like we got what we had paid for, we found several places that had not seen a cleaning cloth for a long time, the log burner in the main sitting room was not usable, the tv in the kitchen sitting area was not working properly nor were the lights in that sitting area, we paid nearly 1000 to stay there and this was our first holiday since the summer of 2019, this was not the standard that we expected, we felt very let down that we did not get to use all the amenities in the way we should have been able to.
Debbie
This property is amazing. The photos dont do it justice. We chose it due to having a ground floor bedroom and wet room for our son who is a wheelchair user. It is so warm and welcoming but luxurious too. The pizza oven and Aga were fab and it is has everything you need. The owners were so helpful and accommodating and its in such a nice location. I would live here if I could. We recommend the Distillery tour.
Sheena
Orrinside is such a lovely house! It exceeded my expectations. Its very comfortable, warm, extremely spacious and felt like home right away. Loved the hot tub and the aga. All the rooms, including the bathshower rooms are large and well equipped. It would be amazing for a large group, especially in the summer, with plenty of space to spread out in the garden building, patio and hot tub. Great communication from the owner, who was really friendly. The house is in a good position, very peaceful but within walking distance of the facilities of Muir of Ord, and with lots to see nearby. Would love to go back and would recommend to all.
The pictures don't do this amazing house justice! Weve waited a long time to find a gem like this and its decorated and put together so fantastic we didn't have any 'oh no we forgot this' moments because everything has been thought through so well. The hot tub, pizza oven, Aga, bedrooms, bathrooms, etc etc are all absolutely perfect! Couldn't recommend this retreat enough!
