Collieston Cottage Reviews

Our second time at Collieston cottage, & it was just as fabulous as the first time. Cosy, peaceful, very high standards inside & out. Beautiful views, peaceful & the best hot tub I have ever used, especially after a day's walking. Thank you Hayley & Keith x
A beautiful cottage, had a great stay.
Michael
What a beautiful place to stay. Everything was perfect, cottage beautifully presented, very clean and well equipped. Hottub area was fantastic as well, with beautiful views over the countryside and beyond but also undercover incase the weather was poor. Hosts provided a host of little extras to get us started on our break which included logs and kindling, matches and firelighters for the wood burner. Tea, coffee and shortbread provided in the kitchen as well as the small stuff like salt n pepper, cooking oil, tinfoil n baking paper. Absolutely excellent place to relax and unwind and we are definitely going to rebook as soon as we can.

We had a wonderful stay at Collieston Cottage, it was spotlessly clean on arrival and its very well equipped. The lovely little wood burner and the hot tub turned our trip into a cozy little getaway. The cottage is very secluded, which was what we were after, but its only a 30 min drive or so to the next big city. Its a lot more spacious then the pictures might suggest and we loved the little themed bedroom decoration and the other thoughtful little touches you can find all over the cottage. The area surrounding the cottage is just beautiful. We loved every second of our stay and will definitely be back! Also the hosts were really friendly and helpful.
An oasis of peace resulting in an amazing holiday. The hot tub is excellent and the cover means you can use it in any weather. The cottage is immaculate and very well equipped. Highly recommended and we're fussy
Propert is excellent we had a lovely holiday and it is good that you can use hot tub hail, rain or shine as it is covered. We have been to a few cottages over the years but this is definitely the best.
Amazing family holiday and will definitely be back! The cottage was better than the pictures. So cosy and in the middle of nowhere. Just what was needed to get away from busy city life. It had everything you would need and more. Attentive hosts, there at the drop of a hat to help with anything! Loved our time.
We spent a perfect week at this gorgeous secluded cottage. One of the best cottages we have ever stayed in. So much attention paid to the decor and facilities. Our border collie pup loved watching the sheep and cows. Loads of walks from the door or a short drive away. We loved it and cant wait to make a return visit . Hysterical fabulous !
Beautiful property. Spotless and wellequipped. The surroundings were stunning and peaceful. The hot tub just topped it all off. It was such a pleasure to stay here. We'll be back.
Rebekka

The Cottage is beautiful, spotless and really comfortable. Its much bigger than we expected and the views are truly stunning. It has to be the most well equipped cottage weve stayed in! Excellent communication from the owners and Hayley and Kieth made us feel very welcome, it really was a home from home. The hot tub is a fantastic feature with a fabulous view. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat, perfect location for exploring the area.

When booking a holiday house, you can never be too sure what you are going to find and if the house will look anything like the photos. Collieston cottage is a real gem and exceeded our expectations. The location and views are absolutely gorgeous. The actual cottage was well presented, clean, welcoming and cosy. The doggy welcome basket was great and the selection of shortbread biscuits were a great welcome treat for everyone. Although it is a working farm, the cows and sheep didn't bother us and the children loved seeing the animals in the fields close to the cottage. The upstairs loungebedroom area were great for the older children as they loved have their own space. The hot tub was great and the views from the hot tub was amazing. Last but not least, the owners were lovely too. Although they are around on the farm, they are not intrusive at all and it was lovely talking to them. We normally don't like going back to the same place more than once as we like exploring different places, but Collieston cottage might have changed our minds.

We had a fabulous time, great location, fantastic views, children didn't want to leave. Hope to return again in the future. Thank you.
Absolutely beautiful cottage with the most spectacular scenery. Spotlessly clean with everything you need, cant wait to visit again!
Pamela
What a beautiful, peaceful place to stay. I booked this as a surprise for my Mums 60th and wish I had booked for longer, we didn't want to leave. Definitely a home away from home, with everything you could ever need. We will 100 be back and for longer next time.
Collieston Cottage is one of the nicest places we have stayed. The cottage has everything you need and more plus the little extras like toothbrushes, toothpaste face cloths and shower gels. The dog also doesn't miss out as there are dog treats, towels, bowls and poo bags provided. We will certainly return.
Tracey
We had a fantastic few days at Colliestone Cottage. Extremely peaceful, truly relaxing break with breathtaking views. The cottage was just perfect home from home, the wood burning stove an added bonus. The outdoor space is great we loved using the hot tub under the gazebo in the evening and our labrador loved the large enclosed garden. We will definitely return.
Me and my family came for my daughters 16th birthday and what a memorable 16th it was. Waking up to those views each morning and added hot tub was just perfect. The cottage is very well kept to a fantastic cleanliness standard and it was noticed as soon as we walked it, smelt beautiful. Beds were so cozy. Hot tub and outside area was honestly perfect. We will be back definitely and we loved it very much. Thank you for letting us stay. The ballochs x

What an absolutely amazing cottage in an amazing part of Scotland. The photo's do not do it justice regarding the size it was much bigger than we thought it was going to be which was good. What made it even better was the amazing extras and little touches that had been done it had everything and more being away from home that you could possibly need or want.I would definitely recommend this cottage and can't wait to return in the future.

Lovely lovely view, clean and well equiped.
Gillian
The cottage is fantastic. It is cared for and finished to a high specification. This is home from home. The views are spectacular from the hot tub albeit they are provided by nature. There is absolutely nothing even slightly disappointing about this beautiful property. The owners are great to deal with too.
We had a lovely family weekend at Collieston Cottage. Gorgeous cottage in stunning surroundings, had everything we needed and more. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back.
Great cottage lovely location and views if somewhat remote for takeaway foods ... Great cottage lovely location and views if somewhat remote for takeaway foods only down side which is no reflection on the holiday was the terrible state of the roads in Scotland otherwise great holiday
Fabulous cottage in a beautiful setting with everything you could possibly need!
Daniel
A wonderful cottage in a tranquil setting. Beautiful surroundings and what a find! A very well equipped cottage that does not disappoint. We spent seven relaxing days at this property and were sad to leave. We would definitely return to this place which we highly recommend. You will not be disappointed! Thank you to the owners Hayley and Keith. Five stars .
Sharon
Fantastic stay. The cottage itself was one of the most well equipped cottages we have stayed in. Everything was supplied that would be needed. It was like staying in your own home. All the welcome packages were a lovely touch and it is these little things which make the difference. This was a family holiday although all members were adults. The wifi was the best we have every experienced whilst being away and all four of us were able to check in and use all of our devices at the same time. Quite remote which is what we had wanted. The hot tub was fantastic and the views wonderful despite a full week of typical Scottish rainy weather which we were also prepared for. We would definitely recommend this cottage and would definitely consider booking up again next year! It was also nice for the owners to check in with us half way through our stay to ensure everything was okay.
Jasmine
The cottage is fantastic and has everything your could ever need. I would recommend this cottage to everyone and the drive from Edinburgh was also beautiful and very scenic.
Bethany
A brilliant week away. Such peaceful surroundings and a very well equipped and clean cottage. Kids loved the hot tub and outdoor space to run around. Cant wait to return in the future. Only criticism is mattresses could do with being renewed as not too comfy
Louise
Collieston cottage is just perfect and the scenery is beautiful . The cottage is fully equipped with all you could possibly need , is comfortable and super clean. Hayley and Keith are lovely and very welcoming. Thank you so much for a lovely stay, we will definitely return.
This cottage definitely has the wow factor, inside & out. It has everything you need, even down to towels & treats for the dog. The beds were extremely comfortable. The hot tub was hot, the best one I've been to & had amazing views. The pergola was an excellent addition although despite being in Scotland we didn't have rain! Communication with Hayley & Keith was excellent. I would highly recommend this cottage.
This holiday cottage is amazing, the effort and thought put in to it is outstanding! The dog basket , the complimentary drinks snacks, the books and games! We have just loved it, would 100 recommend to familyfriends and we would love to go back !! Great place to go and just relax away from Busy life!
Beautiful cottage for a relaxing holiday. Hot tub was fantastic. Would definitely visit again
Jonathan
Our second stay here within 6 months says it all! A wonderfully relaxing and wellequipped place to unwind. Ideal if you want. Peaceful break away from the hustle and bustle. Travelled with elderly mother and a young dog both enjoyed their stay!
We had an amazing stay at Colliston Cottage. Its honestly a home from home. Very clean and everything you could need. Clearly a lot of thought has been put in to appointing this so well. Great location close to Dumfries, perfect for stocking up, going for a coffee etc. lots to see and do. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to go back soon.
Kirsty
Beautiful property everything was so new and clean you could really see the effort that has been put in. There were little baskets or goodies tea, coffee, milk, sweets. The same in the bathroom for all you would need. We loved the log fire after our hot tub sessions. The only comment I would make is make sure you have everything as nearest wee shop is 25 mins away it is in the middles of nowhere which perfect. We went for some nice walks around the farm searching for the gate that led to a stone path as per instructions in the welcome book. For a bunch of city slickers this proved to be a funny escapade as every farm gate looked the same. Found the walk after a day! I would definitely recommend for anyone looking to relax and rejuvenate!
Philip
Lovely cottage in a beautiful area. It ticked all the boxes and we wanted for nothing. We only wished we had more time there! Will be returning next year for sure.
Robert
A fantastic cottage, with fantastic facilities and amenities. We felt right at home, the moment we arrived. Such a quiet and peaceful setting, exactly what we needed. The star gazing at night mesmerised my son and daughter. We didn't know how the children would take to a cottage in the middle of knowhere, they enjoyed it so much, they're keen that we return again next year. The McKinnons
Beautiful cottage in lovely peaceful and scenic surroundings. Everything you need and more. Would definitely recommend it.
Property was delightful
Barbara-anne
What a fabulous place to spend a couple of nights! Immaculate cottage and had everything we needed. The views are spectacular and the decor, the use of the old outside toilet to house the recycling, and the lights along the track to the cottage once dark are lovely touches. Highly recommend this property. Be aware the upstairs bedroom really does have a low ceiling, our 62 tall son found it interesting but was fine once he was in the bed! Would be perfect for children. The hot tub is a lovely bonus. Thank you!
