This was our first holiday in 7 years and it was perfect in every way. Amanda is an amazing host and nothing is too much trouble. The alpacas were such fun to watch and we loved feeding them too. They were not at all phased by our lively 3 year old Staffie who enjoyed her holiday immensely The garden is totally enclosed and if she cant escape, you know it is secure. The hot tub is amazing and so relaxing and you have everything you need for a lovely BBQ. Defo recommend, truly stunning

We stayed 4 nights in April. Our cabin had absolutely everything we could have needed & more. It was very cosy comfortable & clean. We enjoyed the fire pit, outdoor bbq, hot tub & log burner. It was lovely waking up to the sound of the birds and the alpacas outside. Our dog enjoyed it also & got along really well with the alpacas. We would highly r ecommend a visit to this lovely retreat. It was lovely watching the stars from bed also. Amanda couldnt do more as a hostess. Thank you =)

We absolutely loved the Alpaca Retreat, the location was brilliant and had such a relaxing time. The alpacas themselves were in their own little world and eating constantly in the same filed as the shepherds hut. Amanda was there to meet us on arrival and was super helpful throughout our stay. There's some great walks around Ludgershall and also ne arby Brill is worth a visit too to see the wind mill and the fantastic views from the top of the hill. We'd highly recommend staying there.

We really enjoyed our stay. The host Amanda was fabulous. We really felt like she was there if we needed but we also felt we had complete peace, quiet and privacy. The Alpacas were super fun to feed carrots to. We made use of all on offer including the hottub and indoor bbq hut. The surrounding area was quiet but plenty to do and see when we ventur ed out. We had everything we needed for a truely relaxing peaceful few days away from the hustle of normal life.
Clare
The Alpaca Retreat was a delight. The alpacas are in the same field as the hut but were so chilled about us and our dogs sharing their space that even bouncy young Ziggy was accepted. A bag of carrots is a must! The hut was well equipped, with an excellent shower, very comfy bed and logs provided for the wood burner if needed. Outside space has a l arge gas BBQ and hot tub (lovely!) on the decking and comfy chairs around a fire pit (with optional pizza oven) in the paddock. Relax and enjoy!
Abbie
Excellent communication from Amanda from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble and she welcomed us warmly on our arrival. The location was lovely and the facilities were ample. The stars of the show though were Monty and Wallace, two beautiful alpacas. I felt tearful leaving them, we had become so attached in just three days. This place is a little piece of Heaven..relaxing and magical. It was just what we needed and we will absolutely return. Thank you SO MUCH Amanda
Susan

What a beautiful little find! A peaceful location with the company of 2 alpacas roaming the field. A hot tub to enjoy on a great dark site for watching the stars. Excellent cooking facilities indoors with electric hobs, oven and microwave and an outdoor barbecue and fridge, which are brilliant. Our host was great, there whenever needed and made som e restaurant recommendations which were well worth following up. A lovely, picturesque village which is very dog friendly (lots of great walking).
Zara
This was the best experience ever for my 40th! Such a wonderful place, the shepherds hut itself is so beautiful and well equipped it was an absolute joy to stay in. I literally spent hours just sitting on the decking listening to the sound of wildlife and watching the alpacas and animals in the further field. Amanda was so welcoming and the alpacas were so good with our little dog, we will definitely be back and I would recommend this to anyone. Thanks again!
Vita
We had the loveliest, most relaxing time at the alpaca retreat. We felt welcome, the caravan is very homey and has everything you could need and more. We became big fans of alpacas as well. It was the best get away from city life weve ever had.

We absolutely loved our weekend break at the Alpaca Retreat for our 20th anniversary. The shepherds hut is small but amazingly equipped. On arrival Amanda was very welcoming and introduced us to Wallace & Monty the gorgeous alpacas! They guarded us all weekend and kept us entertained. I was worried about the bed as it looked a tight space in the ph otos but it was so comfortable and cosy I ended up buying the same mattress when I got home! Lovely hot tub overlooking beautiful countryside too.
Louise
Very relaxing place. Enjoyed a couple of days fishing in local lake. The hut is well maintained and comfortable. Amanda was a lovely and helpful host. Will definitely be going back again.
Julie
We had a brilliant stay at Alpaca Retreat. Amanda and Tom were so welcoming and helpful hosts. the hut is wonderful but don't bring too much as space is obviously tight. The hot tub was great, and the outlook spectacular and so peaceful. Wallace and Monty are a joy and very friendly. A fantastic holiday in beautiful surroundings.

Pendon Indoor Model Village and Railways - OX12 8EA
about 16 Miles
This is an all weather attraction in Abingdon, Oxfordshire which will appeal to all ages.  The model trains are fascinating to watch and we love the model village in the Vale Scene.  The exhibits have been well thought out and it's a pleasure to wander around this museum looking at everything on offer.  You can be assured of a warm welcome from the moment you arrive and for kids and adults alike this makes a fun and educational day out.
Catanger Llama Trekking - NN12 8LJ
about 18 Miles
This is a really unique attraction and certainly worth a visit in our opinion.  Established in 1995 and situated in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside this attraction will appeal to those looking for something a little different.  You can't ride the animals but you can trek alongside them and enjoy the fantastic scenery.  From farm tracks to country lanes the gentle animals will carry your rucksack for you along the way.  There are personally guided treks available all year round and you will have your own Llama for the trek.
Old Dairy Farm Centre - PO30 2NB
about 24 Miles
Suited to families with children of all ages this is a fantastic attraction in Northamptonshire.  There are many special events held throughout the year so don't forget to check what's happening while you are staying in the region.  Some highlights include the lambing weekends and the monthly local food fayres.
Old Dairy Farm Country Shopping and Craft Centre - LE14 3PF
about 24 Miles
From shopping to home cooked refreshments this is a wonderful day out in the pretty village of Upper Stowe.  You can enjoy amazing views over the Northamptonshire countryside and wander around the complex of stone built farm buildings.  Each building houses something different such as the Occasions Florist, Itsy Bitsy Gifts, Hayrack Gallery and Sheer Delights Lingerie.  When it's time for a rest the Barn Restaurant and Tea Room is the place to go.  There is a small selection of animals at the centre too which younger children will love.  They currently have two Kune Kune pigs, sheep, hens and ducks.  If you are looking for upmarket holiday accommodation in the Northamptonshire area then the luxury lodges at Wicksteed Park are sure to impress.
Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens - OX18 4JP
about 26 Miles
This has to be one of the most popular days out in Oxfordshire and is sure to appeal to nature lovers, animal lovers and keen gardeners.  Families and couples will enjoy wandering around this amazing park with a wide variety of mammals and birds to see as well as reptiles. Some of the most popular animals are the Burrowing Owl, Dexter Cow, African Pancake Tortoise and the Bar Headed Goose.  Check out their website for the latest admission costs and special offers.
Farmer Gows - SN7 8DA
about 28 Miles
Farmer Gows is a recommended attraction in the Faringdon area of Oxfordshire and will be especially suited to families with young children.  The little ones will love coming to see the farm animals including pigs, cows and lambs.  The meet the animals session takes place every day and includes handling the animals, walking the goats, feeding the pigs and cows and egg collecting.  Look out for special seasonal events throughout the year such as the Halloween Party, Lambing and children's workshops.  The latest news from the farm is that they have some Saddleback piglets and Speckledy chicks arriving shortly.
