5 Tree Tops Reviews

A fantastic lodge in a beautiful, private and quiet setting. It had everything we needed, we had a wonderful, relaxing weekend break.
Fantastic holiday property! Very clean, well equipped and superb location. We will definitely be returning!
Stephanie
This is my 6th at staying at Stonerush and southern halt charteroaks never fail me I stayed at 5treetops this time a very private lodge a stunning master suite and all the equipment you could possibly ask for to make yourself at home although a little smaller than the usual lodges I stay in and a little tired in places it was just lovely lodge was mainly clean but the ensuite was clearly rushed as I had to clean it myself but my standards are extremely high overall a fab stay Stonerush lakes did not disappoint and Ive already booked for two stays next year. Also made a furry friend a cute little grey cat called joy from the local farm her daily visits were a total joy hence probably why she is aptly named

Uncertain as to who Feedback is directed and to whom. This was our 2nd stay since September last year, and could see there have been some additions made new curtains znd rails and especially some signage and lighting to the steps to the lodge. The accomodation itself is lovely well equipped in the kitchen with all the amenities you need. I contacted reception as there was no iron and a brand new one was sent within 10 mins as were dish washer tablets, very efficient and extremely polite service. Two things I would like to pass comments on which by no means will stop me returning again. One was the main bedroom where the mirror frame hadn't been dusted and walking down the step to the bathroom being a tad taller I could see on top the wardrobe which looked as if it had never been cleaned and still had an electric cable cut off on top,and lying in bed looking up at the roof vent looked covered on the outside in sticky tape removed leaving rhe glass marked. Housekeeping should never have left a bathrobe for use for anyone in the state it was in more holes than material and should not have any excuses in doing so.,also the venetian blinds could do with a once over. Overall would highly recommend very private quiet and a lovely location and I will be back again

Just perfect! !!!

This is our 6th time staying in this lodge since 2020. We love the lodge. It is cosy, light and bright and very private. We love the hot tub. The only problem was that because it went dark at 4pm it was pitch black and we couldnt see to get down the steps to get out at night. However the maintenance team at Chateroak lodges give great customer service. They came the first day and put lights down the steps so we could go out at night. We were very grateful. We have booked again for next year. My only worry booking so far in advance is that Sykes booking service are not great if you ever need to cancel. But it is a 5 star stay. Love it!
The lodge is beautiful and in a perfect secluded spot. Hot tub is amazing and we made good use of that! The floors were very dirty on arrival, lots of dead flies. Food up the dining room curtain. We were provided dressing gowns but were very shocked at what we were given. One gown had 3 rips in the material, pocket gone and no tie and the other was fine! Gaping hole in the top of the doors in the lounge area. As a couple we would have liked a double bed rather than two singles pushed together. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip, just a few things let it down but we would return to Stonerush.

Property itself was absolutely beautiful and ideal for a short stay. The cleanliness of the place was good, I just did a deeper clean that doesn't get done due to time so dust was gone that had gathered under radiators. Hot tub was working and clean. The site itself is huge but lovely. The place is in fields so going down back lanes was interesting meeting tractors nearly everytime so do be more aware. Certainly recommend and would come back.
This is an excellent lodge, which is very private and in beautiful surroundings. Well placed to visit places in Cornwall. The hot tub was mamzing! Unfortunately there was no bath as detailed, only two showers, but the bathrooms were both a good size. The cleanliness was disappointing lack of detail and very poor in places. However, we accept that the cleaners probably do not have a time to do a thorough clean. We feel it needs a deep clean throughout. There was a tea towel and welcome pack, which was appreciated.

We stayed at 5 tree tops. The site is beautiful, did not expect so many lodges, you would never know they were there its very peaceful surrounded by Cornish countryside and a few lakes. The gardeners were present, they cut the grass during our stay and also our hot tub was checked numerous times whilst we were out as we could tell as they clipped the clip back on for safety. As for the lodge, it really was a lovely lodge, quiet and private location at the very end of the road so no one walks past this lodge at all, the veranda is huge and theres plenty of grass area if you are bringing a dog, the hot tub was the icing on the cake and brilliant after being out all day as it was extremely hilly so hot tub was a life saver! It had all the utensils you need I always bring a non stick frying pan with me the beds were comfy if not slightly too soft, the bathrooms were modern and the lodge was cleaned to a good but not excellent standard. Its a huge lodge and would fit a family easily in, or two adults youll just be fighting over the master. Lodge has a cool spilt level which added a superior feel which we quite enjoyed. The landscaping was very pretty. I feel the below needs to be said as the lodge was a little tired in places and a few minor changes are needed in order to be a 5 accommodation which I will mention below and hope you can pass this on to the owners of the lodge. steps, some edges have come loose and its dangerous. lodge number and sign needed at the bottom of the lodge so its clear as you drive up, after spending all day in the car having to wonder up the first lodge steep steps and potentially invade someones privacy to see what number it was is really irritating and its an easy fix, its also been mentioned before lots yet nothing done about it?! fridge and oven light are not working again and easy fix and mentioned previously, this is just lazy to not fix deep clean is needed, the metal silver trim from the tiles to the walls in bathrooms needs a wipe, its thick with dust. sofa has seen better days and is dirty rug needs removing, again its filthy and its not needed some of the hooks for curtains are broken, needs replacing as the curtains are floppy because of it lodge has some scratches and paintwork coming off in areas around which could do with painting back over your visitor book is falling apart, hence why I did not use it. As I said, there are all minor issues but these small issues can make or break a stay to some people. they are to me easy fixes which would make the lodge a true 5 accommodation. I would not let the minor things deter you from staying as we did have a truly wonderful time but but hope they take on the constructive criticism. Also, not all the lodges are owned by stonerush it seems they have lodge owners which is why some may be cleaner than others ect.
Charles
There were a couple of areas that needed attention namely the sealing around the shower the loose plastic door seal on the shower door. The cheese grater needed binning and one steel frying pan was dirty. I did pass comment to the gentleman who looked after the hot tub that the down pipe was blocked, and he said he would pass the info on to maintenance. My wife thinks there should be a mat under foot in the shower and put a towel on the base when she used it. Other than those few minor things our stay was excellent and would thoroughly recommend 5 Treetops to anyone interested. Hot tub was brillant and was in use every day even through a shower. The chalet was very private and as previous people said not overlooked and everything one wanted was available to use, Very comfortable beds and contrary to other peoples comments about the beds I the other room I am 6' and had no problems using one, so to say they are suitable for children only,is rather unfair I could have used one every night.. Cannot pass on any info on RE restaurant food as we either ate in or when we were out and about. Will definately be booking for next year without doubt.
Well designed lodge with the split level. Wonderful location which was very private and not overlooked by any other lodge. The main bedroom was exceptionally large with air conditioning. The second bedroom with two single beds is only suitable for children. The hot tub was always on. The outdoor furniture could be improved with some cushions and a sun umbrella. The entrance to the park is an extremely narrow single track at nearly a mile long with very few passing places. Although advertised there is no charging for an electric car, going forward one will need to be fitted.

Had a fantastic stay at 5 Tree Tops earlier this month. Only two of us visiting but we were surprised by how much space there was easily enough for a family of four and how nice the place was. Local restaurant was very friendly with stunning views although we didnt eat there, we definitely will next time. A few minor things could be improved but only if Im being really picky.hot tub seemed to be set at 40 degrees which was a bit too hot for us not enough to stop us using it though, no cheese grater or oven mits clutching at straws here, no parasol for outside didnt ask for one though and could have just been due to the season, and the fridge was missing a door shelf I just moved one of the others down so we could get our bottles in. Will definitely visit again though. Lovely place, nice area close to Eden Project which was great and some stunning scenery around too. Many thanks!
Fantastic lodge in a great setting
Set in a lovely location the property itself was fantastic the holiday home itself was lovely and comfortable. We used to sit out on the decking and drink coffee it was so peaceful and tranquil. The holiday home itself was furnished to a very high standard and it looked new. After a week's visit we felt totally relaxed and really enjoyed our time. We would definitely book again.
Fabulous property in beautiful setting. 4 OAPs had a wonderful week there
Victoria
Location was stunning and a lovely place to relax. We went into Looe which was beautiful and had Sunday dinner at the jubilee inn again that was beautiful and must do if you stay here. Only fault was the general cleanliness of lodge when we arrived there was 2 black bags left outside which had been ripped open and the rubbish was all over the decking which meant we were left to clean it before even getting into the cottage. Worktops and floors wernt clean but everything else was lovely. Beds were comfy and hottub was amazing! We would love to stay again and will definitely return to Cornwall.
Fantastic lodge, has everything you need. We loved how private and remote it felt, hearing the sheep at night and having rabbits visit us in the morning was wonderful! Really disappointed the storm caused us to lose a few nights of our stay but we will definitely be back!
Dafydd
We had the best time at 5 treetops perfect location beautiful place we are definitely going to be returning hopefully for Christmas.
Claudia
The lodge is lovely and the surroundings are peaceful. The only thing that puts me off booking again is that you cant cancel or change the dates. It would make me think twice about booking through Sykes.
You were informed with so many emails
No tv in the main bedroom as stated, nail sticking out of the step in the lodge and the lodge wasnt as clean as we would expect, the cleaners were still in the lodge as we turned up so were obviously rushing, we were disappointed that The Old Mill was shut so much however the new chef is very good and staff friendly. The email from Sykes a day before we left telling us how to leave the lodge was strange, it was like saying although you have paid this amount of money can you do most of the tidying up which we did! Other than these, the stay was enjoyable, the park clean and tidy and location although remote if on foot is great for exploring the local area.
The best accommodation we've stayed at in Cornwall. Lovely and peaceful, with views across the valley and ideally situated between Looe and Polperro. Hope to return next year.
Robert
I thought the lodge was one of the better ones we have stayed down at stone rush lakes. It was private, quiet and generally really nice and at a fair price.
Claudia
Just love this place
We enjoyed our twonight stay at 5 Tree Tops during a recent road trip with my family. It definitely exceeded our expectations in terms of view, cleanliness, functionality and overall amenities. We would definitely come back!
Initially booked for 7 days enjoyed stay so much we extended by another 4 days. The lodge is well equipped, comfortable in a private location. We had an issue with hot tub which we reported during the routine visit on Christmas Day. The gentleman suggested a temporary fix which we were happy with however they returned later that day changed a component and fixed the issue. That is first class service. The Mill restaurant when open served amazing food with great service from the staff. Social Distancing was practiced with high levels of cleanliness. Such an impression we booked to return in 2021 Overall 1010
Stonerush Lakes 5 Tree Tops This holiday provided everything we imagined. Our Lodge was very clean and well appointed allowing us to relax in quiet and beautiful surroundings. The hottub was the cherry on the cake. If the lights along side the steps could be rectified as not working with onset of darker nights would be a huge benefit. The Old Mill Restaurant provided excellent food in comfortable surroundings We enjoyed the break so much we have booked to return to same lodge for Christmas with a further week at the end of April and 2 weeks in September.
Claudia
The lodge was beautiful. Very clean. We were surrounded by countryside. Very peaceful and relaxing. The hot tub was a great addition to the lodge. It was always kept warm and someone checked it each day. We had a problem with the water but the maintenance team were quick to fix it and the management team looked after us. They were so helpful. The restaurant onsite was great. The meals were excellent and the receptionrestaurant staff were so friendly and helpful. We were very happy. We will be returning next year

Just brilliant. Lovely lodge, fantastic views and the peace of the countryside. Looking to return again very soon.
Great site and location with good access to the coast and local points of interest.
Graham
Brilliant lodge in a fantastic location, couldn't of asked for more
Brenda
Lodge was beautiful and the hot tub very relaxing after each day. Beautiful views. We spent 2 weeks here and it was a good base to go to a different location each day.
Fridge wouldnt keep temperature. No water on last day so we had to travel home without showering. Hot tub had a thick brown tide mark around it. However apart from this it was a lovely location and area
Kelvin
Couldn't understand why when your booking procedure identifies that we do not have children, one of the wardrobes was massively restricted by a child's high chair and cot.
Hayley
The location of this site is great as you can visit Looe & Polperro around 5 minutes drive Fowey, Talland Bay, Polkerris Beach all within 1025 minutes! Local Spar and Pubs too. This Lodge is brilliant, the open plan living area made for a great social area and the bedroom is just brilliant and huge. You get sun all day due to the great setting, the views over the valley are brilliant and amazing to wake up to in the morning. The hot tub is totally private, you cant tell from the photos but utterly private with no neighbour views. Beds are also super comfy, you can tell the owners really look after the lodge. TV is a smart TV too so we really enjoyed having amazon prime etc to enjoy after the hot tub. The site is very nicely spaced out with lots of greenery everywhere. Having a restaurant on site is a huge perk, the chef is incredible with a great menu and the drinks are very reasonable! 3.50 a glass of great Merlot. Indoor and outdoor seating are both equally nice. We were a younger couple staying and there seemed to be a huge mix of other couples of all ages, families and groups of friends , all ages. One suggestion perhaps a Bluetooth speaker? Would be really lovely to have, we took our own anyway. Would recommend the Treetops lodges, I think they are the best spot on the site with incredible views.
