Field View Chestnut Reviews

Alison
A lovely cottage, well equipped and such comfortable sofas to sink into after a lovely soak in the hot tub, a lovely base to visit so many interesting places. We would be very happy to return, one day, for another holiday.
Patrick John
My detailed written report with photographic evidence is on its way. There are several failings but the significant two are the fact that the main living room was nothing like that pictured at the time of the booking (we did not like it at all) and that we felt we were at the edge of a building site. Mechanical diggers continued working 12 metres f rom the actual house structure, ignoring garden. Far too close. We stayed out all day for peace and quiet.
Julia
Overall, New Farm House was OK but felt a little impersonal and lacked that home from home feeling. A little more attention to detail, in both decor and facilities, is needed. Currently there is building work going on behind the house which does spoil the garden experience
Cassy
Disappointing, despite looking impressive from outside & being spacious + quite comfortable. Maintenance man called out on 3 separate occasions (heating, hot water in 2 of the showers & kitchen RCD tripping.) Although the maintenance man arrived at property quickly these issues were an inconvenience. Property needs a good spring clean - esp bottom of shower screens. Also cobwebs, old one being along the entire length of the coving above the downstairs bedroom headboard. Not worth the money.
Andrew
Good location and nice house to make our base for the half term. Car is essential to get to the local amenities and attractions. The park was completed early in the week and the kids made good use of it. One thing to note is the place is not as child friendly for younger children (Mine 3&5). The furniture in the lounge is different to the pictures and now all glass tables and metal dining chairs. Not great for younger children..
Isabel
A very comfortable cottage which would suit all but the very elderly or infirm. It would work very well for families with young children or teenagers. A good outdoor space with equipment to use(badminton/cricket) X box for wet days. Lots of interesting places to go in the surrounding area. Anyone who didn't have a good holiday here would be very ha rd to please.

Monkey World is not only a local attraction but the work they carry out is amazing.  Rescuing and rehabilitating monkeys and assisting governments around the world to stop the smuggling of primates are just some of the purposes of the centre. You get to see the primates themselves many of which have become famous from appearing on the TV show Monkey World - a documentary about this place. Open year round we think this is one of best attractions in Dorset and you even get the chance to adopt a monkey if you choose.
