Bwthyn Megan Reviews

This holiday cottage was a perfect setting for our family break. Although it was a terraced property it felt very private and garden not overlooked at all. The log burner kept us so cosy and the hot tub well maintained. The bed in the main bedroom was extremely comfortable. The host was informative and on hand to answer a few questions we had on arrival.
What a fantastic gem of a cottage with everything you could want and more! Clean, tidy and cosy. Had a fab week over Christmas. Good base to explore and to come back to such a cosy place was the icing on the cake. Fantastic communication with the owners before and during our stay. Will most definitely be back.
Pauline
This cottage is oldie worldly it has everything you need and is cosy. The bed is very comfy and the furnishings are good quality. The village shop is very handy and the cottage is very near other areas of outstanding beauty.
The cottage was beautiful and located in a small village with a shop. The interior was a mix of authentic cottage with a lovely lounge with wood burner that we didn't use, another reception room with good size dining table and modern well equipped kitchen. Both bedrooms had a high standard of decor, with incredibly comfortable beds and plenty of storage. The garden was secluded with a back access gate and the hot tub was very much appreciated as were the very fluffy towels provided. There was plenty of road parking. We would definitely rebook this cottage for future time spent exploring North Wales.
We had a lovely week at Bwthyn Megan. The cottage is situated just a short drive from a beautiful beach. Theres a handy little shop at the top of the road too. There was everything we could need for a homely stay and the owners were very responsive and helpful. The hot tub was a lovely added luxury for us in the evenings. I dont think Ive ever stayed anywhere where all the neighbours and people in the shops and restaurants nearby have been quite so friendly! Would definitely recommend
We booked this cottage as a base for walking the southwest of the coastal path. ..It was perfect and the hot tub and super comfortable bed took away any aches from a long day's walking, a huge success to the start of our adventure!
We had an absolutely lovely week. The cottage was beautiful and we would definitely stay there again, and recommend it to anyone. The owners are very friendly and helpful.
The cottage provided us with a cosy and comfortable get away. The weather was wet and windy which meant we really appreciated getting back to the warm cosiness of bwthyn Megan. The cottage is well equipped and we lacked nothing, clean and well kept a lovely place to holiday! Thank you!
A beautiful traditional Welsh cottage! Excellent communication from our hostess, nothing was too much trouble. Cottage exceptionally clean and very comfortable, especially the beds. Close to Newborough beach which is my favourite beach on Anglesey. Hopefully I will be back next time I visit the Island.
This was a lovely little cottage and we would highly recommend staying here. It was extremely comfortable, especially the bed in the master bedroom. It was cosy and had pretty much everything that you need for a stay. There were one or two very minor issues where there was slight damage but nothing problematic a cupboard door handle was broken for instance. The owner had forgotten we were arriving that day but the cottage was ready and clean and someone very quickly came to welcome us and set up the hot tub. Absolutely wonderful stay.
Thank you for a lovely stay. Great little property with good facilities. Enjoyed the hot tub as often as possible! Perfect for our half term getaway.
Sophie
What a wonderful homefromhome experience. It is clear that a great deal of effort goes into making your time at Bwythyn Megan both memorable and special. The hot tub is a real treat and my husband and I enjoyed sitting by the woodburner in the evenings reading and planning the next days adventure. Not far from Newborough, this is a super base from which to explore Anglesey with comfortable beds, everything you might need in the kitchen and excellent WiFi. Thank you Fiona for taking such good care of us!

Lovely looking cottage with lots of home comforts. However it is very small abd the additional home comforts make it very difficult to navigate when you have two small children and a dog in a crate to keep in the house with you. There was no room to easily sit at the dining room table with out physically moving the sofa, the dog crate didn't fit anywhere other than the kitchen which was so icy cold I couldn't leave her in there. There appears to be no heating in there or in the hallways which meant sleeping in a cot on the floor was also a no go because the house was so cold it was a very cold week in December but we had to shuffle around who slept in what bed and I ended up with baby in the double with me because it was otherwise too draughty and cold. Hot tub was lovely though and furniture comfortable, just so much of it in such a small space. Would also be useful to have a booklet explaining how to use the heating, where the local shops are l, how to access the rear parking etc because that wasn't that easy especially in the dark.
Lovely little cottage with all the home comforts. I did not to leave! Hugely enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and sitting by the log burner at night. Unfortunately, the DVD player did not work and my only grumble was the back gate was not secure.

Cottage was lovely and cosy, perfect after getting blown away on the beach! It had everything you could have needed including a slow cooker and airer which we don't normally find in other cottages. Fiona was lovely and really helpful before and during our stay with the best places to visit. Perfect place to stay if you are looking for peace and quiet away from everything but with everything accessible within a 15 minute drive.
Steven
The cottage was lovely and clean. and cosy. We were unable to locate any informationinstructions at all in the cottage relating to the appliances. The dishwasher did not operate for us despite starting its cycle then stopping. We sent a message to the owner without reply. We also found the found the hot tub a little over chlorinated as well. Otherwise a nice enjoyable break for a few days.
This is a lovely cottage and really enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately we did not get chance to use the hot tub as our pooch took ill so we had to cut our vacation short.
Christine
This is a lovely cottage in a quiet and picturesque setting. The interiors are presented to a high standard through out. The owners are great and always on hand to respond to any issues or questions. The hot tub is amazing set in a quiet and private little garden and monitored regularly.
The accomodation was as described, the location was fantastic almost 2025 minutes to fantastic Beaches, Newbourough Beach only 510 minutes away, At the end of long days you have a beautiful home to go back to, Unwind in the hot tub in private garden. The Bed was king size a really comfortable. The host was really easy to deal with nothing to much trouble. Log burner in the lounge and a TV in each room downstairs. I would highly recommend this place and pretty sure we will be back 1010
Just returned from a wonderful weeks stay in Llangaffo at the lovely cottage Bwthyn Megan in beautiful surroundings. The cottage is very cosy has all you need and Fiona is a wonderful host. This is our second time staying in the area with our first time at Fionas other cottage Carreg Rhys which is also wonderful can highly recommend both.

Beautiful cottage. Welcoming cottage with everything that you need to meet your home comforts. No concerns with parking, plenty available outside cottage. Brilliant location to explore all of Anglesey. Near to local beaches, tourist attractions and all shoppingfood facilities. Not far from local shops and Asda and Aldi less than 15 mins away. Very welcoming host, let us know she was available if needed. Welcomes pets. Hot tub was a fab bonus. We will definitely visit again.
We had a lovely stay. Great comfortable cottage..hot tub was a bonus. The most helpful host. Thank you for a lovely stay.
The cottage was delightful, all mod cons, with the little extras that make it more fun. Hot tub, Wood burner, dishwasher. Lovely cumfy beds with luxurious bedding. Such a sweet property and the most helpful host I have ever come across. Would stay again and recommend.
Lovely little cottage. Main living rooms smaller than expected but enough room to sit and eat comfortably. Clean with all necessary amenities with a welcome check in text from Fiona to ensure we had settled in ok.
Natalie
Great stay in this cottage. Although small there was everything that we needed there. The location is fantastic for exploring Anglesey. Host was really helpful and made us feel very welcome.

The cottage on arrival was lovely and warm, owners had left a welcome hamper also coal and logs starter which was a nice touch The cottage was a little smaller than the photos make it look but it was cosy. The area is nice with a little shop 2 minutes walk and the amazing newborough beach 5 minutes drive. 2 bedrooms with very comfortable beds, upstairs and downstairs toilet which was great. Everything needed was at hand it's a very well equipped property . The hot tub was lovely and was checked regularly and discreetly. The owners of this property will go out of their way to help and to make sure you have a great holiday .Thank you ....
We really enjoyed our first holiday in Anglesey . We were very happy in the cottage. beds were very comfy. we made use of log burner during a heavy evening of rain, it was very cosy. of course the highlight was relaxing in the hot tub every evening. we liked the enclosed private garden for our dog. we would recommend visiting Caernarfon castle but no dogs allowed, Benllech beautiful sandy beach and nice caf Newbrough beach, forest and small tidal island.. Other nice bays beaches Red wharf Bay, Treadrddur bay, Rhosneiger. It is also definitely worth visiting Parys mountain copper mine If you dont mind driving further we enjoyed visiting Aberdaron, Abersoch nice beaches & village We also enjoyed a speculator walk from Beddgelert to Aberglaslyn in Snowdonia you need a good pair of walking boots! We really had fantastic holiday so many great places to visit , lovely cottage and hot tub to come back too. Our hosts were really helpful. Emmy, partner and Douglas Border Terrier
Andrea
Its a fabulous cottage, very well equipped. Corner shop very handy . Not too far to a big coop. Not too far from a great beach.
Natasha
Fiona had thought of everything in the cottage, lots of homely finishing touches like fresh flowers, candles and logs for the fire. A lovely hamper was waiting for us on arrival with treats for the children , which they enjoyed. The cottage was very well equipped and beautifully decorated in a typical traditional style. The kitchen had plenty of clean working equiptment even things like a slow cooker and wok, plenty of utensils, pots and pans, and matching crockery. Pete took care of the hot tub everyday and was very discreet on his morning visits. The tub was always clean warm and very welcoming after a day out walking in some fabulous local beauty spots in the area. Beds were very comfortable with good quality bedding provided and things like pillow protectors, and matress toppers on all the beds. The area is great for exploring, plenty places of interest to visit within 2030 mins drive beaches, nature reserves National trust properties and great walking trails. A superbly presented cottage and first visit to the beautiful Angelsey.
Alison
We had a lovely week in Anglesey. The cottage was a perfect base to explore the Island, it was spotlessly clean and had everything and more that we needed. The hot tub was a welcome treat at the end of the day ! Fiona was a lovely host , regular texts to check everything was ok without being too intrusive . There was a lovely welcome hamper and a very generous supply of fuel for the log burner when we arrived. I would highly recommend this cottage and if I came back to Anglesey I would love to stay in it again .
Tracey
Fab holiday, Spa amazing, would love to stay again, would recommend to anyone
Beautiful!
A beautiful cottage in a peaceful location, in a stunning part of Anglesey. Very well presented with all the home comforts you would require for a comfortable stay. Perfect location for a cycle ride on Lon Las down to Llanddwyn which is always magical. Both Sykes Cottages and the owner Fiona provided a very friendly and reliable and helpful service. Would thoroughly recommend.
Sharon
Upon enquiring and booking this property, Sykes were extremely reliable, helpful and efficient. Likewise, the owner of the property provided a very friendly and excellent service. The cottage itself was lovely with all the home comforts you would need very comfortable beds, log burner, bike store, hot tub to name but a few. The location is so peaceful and perfectly situated for the Lon Las cycle path. Highly recommended.
Hot tub not available for the full week, I understand that and can accept that what I didnt enjoy was the arguments with both the owners and Sykes as to a suitable refund to reflect the fact that a key facility of the holiday was not available. iniitially offered less than 5 which I advised was unacceptable. eventually settled at 11 far less than I thought was fair but at that point I had had enough. Cottage is lovely, area was lovely, attitude of the owners and Sykes stinked
Our stay at Bwythn Megan has been a perfect family holiday to say the least. The idyllic cottage really catered for everyone in our family. The separate lounges are a godsend, allowing the kids to be kids and the adults some much needed recharge after a glorious day. The kitchen was equipped with every item needed to ensure our self catering holiday was as smooth sailing as cooking at home. The bedrooms are what you'd hope them to be, lovely and quiet, perfect for a good night's sleep the beds are extremely comfortable! The garden was secluded from the neighbours, and the area itself is so quiet and calm, it was a joy to be outside. The corner shop at the end of the road was handy to have, rather than a trip to the supermarket. Of which there are 3 supermarkets within 10mins drive. The location of Bwythn Megan could not be more ideal. With the beach and forest a 10min drive away, the car museum just down the road, the sea life zoo around the corner... Amazing. We found that where ever we drove from this little slice of heaven was surrounded by breathtaking views. The owners of the property are faultless, they really made sure our visit was stressfree and relaxing. Needless to say we had a fantastic holiday, and I'm not quite sure that we'd have had the same experience if we had booked else where.
Our family of 4 plus our dog enjoyed a wonderful stay at this cottage. The owners went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The fire made the lounge area so comfortable and having another reception room was a great bonus. The kitchen had everything we needed as we cooked and ate in most nights. Theres a local shop at the end of the street that has all the essentials. The beds were really comfortable. But our favourite thing was the hot tub! We used this cottage as a base for exploring Anglesey and Snowdonia. I was really impressed with the amount of activities that were just a short drive away from the cottage. One of the best holidays we have ever had!
