Carreg Rhys Reviews

A cosy and comfortable cottage that turned out to be the perfect place to stay for our Christmas holiday. The owners were helpful, welcoming & thoughtful. We appreciated the effort they had made in putting up Christmas decorations and providing gifts of wine and chocolates.
Peaceful! Lovely views, fab hot tub, a place to escape the world and relax
Antony
Lovely clean, secluded and comfortable cottage. The stove kept us warm and cosy in the evenings. Would have preferred a shower enclosure to the telephonebath type. Getting out of these deep baths can be awkward for the less agile. We would certainly be happy to return again and can recommend it for a holiday.
Leslie
Just prefect for what we wanted, comfort and peaceful. Would book again a lovely place to explore.

Lovely little cottage for two,and if one has a doggy, then you are also very warmly welcomed. Peaceful setting, with lots of information in the cottage for walks and for eating out.
A very comfortable cottage surrounded by beautiful scenery. Snowdonia visible from the bedroom window and red squirrels in the garden! Owner was very friendly and helpful. Property well located for visiting all of Anglesey.
We have just returned from a lovely holiday at Carreg Rhys. The property and grounds are beautiful with stunning views towards Snowdonia. The location is ideal for exploring Anglesey. The property is really comfortable and has everything you need for your stay. The bottle of wine & chocolates on arrival were a treat. We took our spaniel with us and she loved it making friends with Fiona, she wanted to stay. We will definitely be returning next year.

Carreg Rhys is a homely comfortable cottage in a secluded area with beautiful views of mountains. We enjoyed a relaxing holiday with plenty of places to visit within a few miles and the added bonus of a hot tub at the property. The owners are very friendly and helpful and left us a bottle of wine and chocolates on our arrival. We would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting a quiet romantic break.

FIONA AND PETER WERE FABULOUS HOSTS AND MADE US FEEL LIKE PART OF THE FAMILY. COTTAGE IS VERY WELL PRESENTED AND HAS ALL THE FACILITIES THST WE REQUIRED. GRPUNDS WERE SUPERB AND WELL WORTH A WALK AROUND. ADVICE ON PLACES TO VISIT AND BEST RRSTAURANTS TO EAT WERE VERY HELPFUL AND WITHIN NO MORE THAN 25 MINUTES FROM CARREG RHYS.
Another wonderful stay in our favourite place. A lovely home from home. This cottage has everything you could need.
The cottage was lovely, it felt like a home rather than a holiday cottage beautifully furnished, extremely comfortable and well equipped. Fiona was a great host and made us feel very welcome. The whole setting of the cottage is perfect, quiet & surrounded by lovely gardens with amazing views to Snowdonia. A perfect base to explore the whole island but especially the beaches around Newborough. The hot tub was a real treat too.
Lovely week in this cottage, the local area is stunning and we'd love to come back again! Thank you to the lovely lady who owns this place
Our stay was great the property has everything you could need. It was really cosy with the log burning fire. The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was lovely. All was clean. The hosts were really friendly and helpful. It was in a great location to explore Anglesey and get to the beach.

Lovely cosy cottage , very comfortable, clean and had everything we needed . Very comfortable bed and we would definitely stay here again .
We had a lovely week in Anglesey, my first time but certainly won't be my last. Weather was brilliant even though it was November. The owners were a lovely couple and keen to make your stay as pleasant as possible. We took our cat who also had a lovely time with so much space to roam about.
Perfect
The warmest of welcomes. Gorgeous cottage in a tranquil and secluded location. 15-20 mins from anywhere in terms of beaches. Lovely gardens and grounds. Wonderful hosts. No hesitation whatsoever giving this the strongest of recommendations. We?ve already rebooked!
Four days just wasn't enough! Absolutely going to book again, have never felt so chilled and relaxed after a short break like this. Would highly recommend but we don't want anyone else to know about it
Had the most chilled and relaxed holiday staying at Carreg Rhys cottage. Owners so kind and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Cottage is absolutely beautiful. Tastefully decorated, warm and cosy with a lovely log burner. The grounds around are beautiful and great for dogs to have a walk. We enjoyed having the use of the hot tub. If you're looking for a totally relaxing holiday away from the hustle and bustle, Carreg Rhys is the place to go. Beautiful countryside, great beaches, dog friendly pubs and restaurants. Fantastic. We would give this cottage 10 out 10.
Lovely cosy accomodaton Great setting in every respect. Grounds really great especially as we have a dog Our weather was not great but the cottage, log burner, location, peace & tranquility, really helpfull owners made the rain unimportant Will go back soon. Thanks!
Tracey
A beautiful cottage, very quite and a great place to get away from it all and relax. A very friendly cat and helpful owners who are happy to help with anything if you need it. Lovely beaches and walks near by to explore.
In the description of the property there was no mention that there was a 'pop up' campsite on the property, and the fact that campers queued for the one toilet outside Rhys Carreg. This rather destroyed the hot tub experience, which was less secluded than photos suggested. Due to Covid, the owner had limited what was provided, and whilst bringing towels isn't difficult, bringing a bath mat seemed extreme. Also, this was the first holiday home for many years that didn't have some holiday basics in the cupboards salt, foil, cling film etc. There seemed a strange collection of glasses one pint, one fruit juice, one tumbler something of everything, but not pairs of things other than champagne flutes and wine glasses. It was lovely to have a dishwasher, but not enough crockery to use it economically ie putting it on every 23 days. The lack of a map was also unusual in our experience. The owner was very friendly and asked us if we needed anything but it seemed petty to ask for extra glasses so we made do. Our holiday was still very enjoyable due to the location and weather.

A lovely stay at a lovely cottage. Great location for everything you could want to do or see on Anglesey. A wonderful and peaceful retreat with lovely welcoming hosts.
Christine
Lovely cottage and wonderful hosts. Great place to relax and explore the island of Anglesey. Colin & Christine
Carreg Rhys is set in a spectacular grounds with stunning views all around. If you are looking for peace and quiet to unwind, that feels like its in the middle of nowhere, but not far from anywhere on the island, then it is the perfect place to be. Fiona and her family made us feel very welcome and made our stay a relaxing and pleasurable experience.
Matthew
We had a lovely stay at the cottage. Everything we needed was provided. The cottage is so cosy and warm. We were made to feel very welcome.
We met Fiona on our arrival. The property was very nice. We had a relaxing week and loved the cottage. Our 7 month old puppy enjoyed as well. Anglesey is a really nice place to stay and explore.
Colette
We had a lovely stay at carreg rhys, clean and comfortable throughout and we couldn't ask for more. They even accommodated for our cat which a lot of places don't. We had such a nice relaxing break. My only recommendation would be some outdoor lighting at night for the hottub. Would definitely recommend for couples wanting a nice relaxing stay with their furry friend
Michael
Great location, lovely comfortable cottage. Loved it, thankyou.
Sharon
What a fabulous place to stay. Great location for exploring Anglesey. Wildlife is amazing with red squirrels even visiting the garden. You want for nothing with the facilities and the host on hand for any issues you may have.
Was a really peaceful stay at the cottage and lovely way to start the year. Lovely grounds and surroundings which my dog loved. Fiona was kind and on hand when required. Would highly recommend. Anglesey is a beautiful place.
Little piece of heaven. So cosy and relaxing. Would definitely recommend the cottage and Fiona the owner is a delight to meet. There if needed but leaves you to enjoy your holiday.
What a delightful property. Well appointed and very comfortable. It was a delight after our days exploring the island to return to the cottage and relax in the hot tub. Owner very helpful and spoilt us with welcome pack
Anthony
The hosts Fiona and Peter were friendly and nothing was too much trouble I will certainly will visit again and tell my friend the best cottage we have visited !
The whole experience of our visit was excellent as well as was the reception and hospitality of our host Fiona. This property is clean, cosy and ideally located for anyone wanting to visit Anglesey.
Antony
A beautiful little property. Spotlessly clean, set in beautiful secluded grounds. It had all the facilities we needed. Very quiet, yet close to everywhere we wanted to see. Our 4 legged family member loved it! A word about the owners. We were there during the petrol shortage. Fiona and her husband went out of their way to help us find petrol on the morning of our departure. We were very grateful. Will definitely be returning at some point.
