The property enjoys a rich history in Anglesey, as the original building dated back to the 13th century whilst also enjoying a rural setting and sitting above a site of special scientific interest; making for an ideal base for a multi-generational family or group of friends to explore this part of Wales.

After hanging your things in the entrance hall, take some time to admire the property's unique design, with the building wrapping around an attractive, central courtyard, which can be seen from all angles. Hen Hafod Reviews

Overall we had a wonderful in a superb cottage , First appearances from outside ... Overall we had a wonderful in a superb cottage , First appearances from outside dont inspire could do with a coat of paint , however inside more than met our expectations
This property could be totally amazing if a few things were sorted out and some maintenance done. The windows were very dirty also noted by the previous renters the kitchen needs a deep clean we had to vacuum and wipe out the cupboards as they were filthy. There were not enough wine glasses so we bought 6 more and left them at the property. There were no mattress protectors on the beds which is extremely unhygienic and some of the mattresses need changing as they are past it. The curtains in the lounge are hanging off their hooks also previously mentioned by other renters. The onoff switch on the dishwasher on the island is broken and you have to stick your finger in the gap to switch the machine on not sure how safe this is. Those are all the gripes but we were a family of 3 children and 12 adults and we had a great stay. The photos do not do the house justice. The boot room was fantastic to put coats and walking boots and having a large utility room was a real blessing. There is plenty of space for people to go off and relax and the kitchen is amazing as its huge and so light with windows on both sides. The views are stunning and the kids loved the hot tub which was super warm. Thank you for the Prosecco and welsh cakes left for us which was a lovely touch. All in all a great stay just needs a bit more love and care put into the property.
Lauren
Beautiful place property was lovely abit of a pain the hot tub wasn't put on before we got there so had to wait till next day to go in it but would definitely go again.
Thelma
HenHafod is a lovely holiday property for a large family gathering. It is spacious with open country views towards the mountains. The hot tub was a huge bonus and enjoyed by the family. The games room provided additional entertainment although there wasnt a full set of pool balls. The property was well equipped and clean. We appreciated the complementary Welsh cakes, tea and Prosecco which was a nice touch. However toilet rolls, hand soap and dish washer tablets would have been helpful. We would like to thank the owner for their hospitality and would definitely recommend HenHafod
Claire
Excellent property, large enough for a family gathering, enough space in the house for all, clean, modern and near to amenities.

We had a lovely stay at Hen Hafod, the whole family stayed from aged 5 to 75. Everyone agreed the house had everything we needed. The various bedroom options meant we could accommodate everyone and the various spaces meant we had space to read a book or watch the TV or the kids place games. The outdoor space was fantastic and not expected. Even with the wet weather we were able to enjoy the gardens and hot tub. The views were amazing and plenty of spaces to sit and enjoy the view. Overall we all enjoyed cooking and eating together as a family and enjoying the open plan living. We had a minor issue with being unable to close an outdoor door and some doors would not lock. A quick call to Tony who came out the same day to secure them for us. The bathrooms were great and the large shower rooms fantastic. We had a child with us with limited mobility and he enjoyed the layout of the property with only a couple of steps. We all felt that the bedrooms were lacking storage shelvesdrawers and some rooms need a chest of drawers especially the family bedroom. Wardrobes look nice but no one wants to hang lots of little people clothes on hangers. We did notice one wardrobe smelled awful inside so we didn't use that at all. Overall the house was tidy and clean on arrival. Just a few maintenance jobs such as missing towel hooks in bathrooms and a change of furniture in our opinion. We all enjoyed the house so much we booked again for next year before we left. Thank you for the welcome gifts which were consumed on the first evening.

This was our 2nd visit, the house and area it's in is great, only problem from last year and the same complaint is no maintenance hasnt been done I did this review last year and said bedroom doors to garden either wont open or wont lock there is a towel in a cupboard in toilet that stinks been there since last year, think its covering a leak, doors to quadrant wont lock, hot tub cover doesnt lock down and was broken on the top when we got there, I know the place is booked up all year but surely they have to find time to do these small repairs, I will say thanks for coming and changing the water in the hot tub for us and for coming and changing some bulbs also games room needs some attention especially the pool table, these are mainly small jobs that need to be done but the house is fabulous for families there was 14 of us and I would definitely go again
Amazing few days away with family celebrating a special birthday. The property is stunning with amazing views. Loved the peace and quiet.
We had a fabulous time at Hen Hafod! 16 of us visited for the weekend and were not disappointed. The living space is super, large seating area with dining table, alongside a spacious kitchen with outdoor seating on both sides. Even though it rained the whole weekend we did get a break in the weather for a couple of hours so we drove to the Oyster Catcher, beach front bar for some drinks, food and a walk along the beach, roughly 20min drive. Worth the trip if you want an afternoon out the house. The hot tub is a great addition to the outside seating area with amazing views. The beds are comfortable and good showers too. We would book again Only two things to feedback some more cooking utensils would be great when you're cooking and serving for 16 and the postcode takes you to the wrong address, drive back out and take a left, not even a minute drive and you'll see the mirror on the wall as the owner has stated, take that left past a couple of houses and follow the road up taking a right at the fork. You do think you're on the wrong track as you couldnt turn around in a car but keep going and the house is up on the hill to get those fabulous views!
The house was perfect for our party. We were celebrating our wedding with our children and grandchildren, had a fabulous week.
Caroline
Rather short of kitchen equipment and glasses and teapot. We are a walking group of 60s 70s, so enjoy our tea and wine! Otherwise it was a great place to stay, the hottub was much enjoyed, and we managed to end up with numbers that avoided having to use top bunks!

We have had a brilliant week at Hen Hafod. We are a multi generational family from 1981! We going the layout of the house really flexible and allowed everyone their own space as well as fabulous social areas too. We cooked mostly at home and found the facilities well equipped for this. The hot tub is very spacious and was cleaned for us half way through the week. We loved it so much we immediately booked again for next year!!
Sandra
We had a fantastic time at this fabulous secluded property. Lovely welcome basket of prosecco, milk etc waiting for us. Rooms were excellent, our family of 11 fitted in easily, 3 teenagers and 2 x 11 year olds found plenty to amuse themselves leaving us 6 adults time to chill. Excellent kitchen facilities, lounge area was amazing, and inner courtyard was a lovely chilled space. Children loved all outdoor space and amenities, and hot tub was a hit with everyone. Such a fab time, kids even asked if we can go again!
Nichola
What a fantastic place, we got lost so glad we arrived in daytime. Such a quiet rural location with spectacular views. Underfloor heating keeps the whole place hot which i loved, but was too hot for others. Can't please everyone. Everything we needed was there for our weekend away. There were 14 of us and was a massive amount of space. As the bungalow is in a square with a courtyard in the middle, you can walk the entire bungalow. The bedrooms are nowhere near the living area Party room, we called it so you could go to bed early and not be disturbed. Plenty of crockery, cutlery, glasses etc. Towels were lovely and big and fluffy. Beds were super comfy too. Great property will definitely be returning. Perfect location.
Victoria
The property was absolutely out of this world! The views are incredible and the house was simply stunning if there was an option to vote that it was even better in person that the listing suggested, I would have selected that option! The house was so well equipped with everything we could possible need. It was great for chilling out with the family, enjoying the local area for a walk, playing sports on the grounds, sharing group meals together and having a little celebration on the Saturday night. We were staying as a family to celebrate my dads 60th birthday so wanted somewhere special and hen hafod was the perfect place. I couldnt recommend this beautiful, luxurious, comfortable property enough. Thank you for an amazing trip!
Amazing holiday home with family that we would definitely stay at again. The layout is great for socialising whilst giving everyone space to relax too. The hot tub and games room certainly were perfect for the teenagers in the group well everyone really
Carole
Beautiful house and had a lovely time. Lovely location. Very peaceful and lots of facilities for everyone. Would not hesitate in staying again. Great house for family gatherings. However if being a little picky there are a few maintenance issues. Some of the outdoor doors do not lock. One door leads straight into the bedroom. Shower not working properly. Tap in the kitchen needs fixing. Blind in the games room hanging down.
An absolutely beautiful property in an excellent location. Our stay ran smoothly and we all had an excellent family weekend here. Great access to local shops and Beaumaris and Red Wharf Bay were only a 10 minute drive away. Directions were clear for finding the property. We all found it, even in the dark! The hot tub was an excellent feature which we all enjoyed! We feel a couple of small touches would have made this stay better, such as a toilet roll in each bathroom, maybe some logskindling for the fire and some manuals to help work some of the appliances. Theres a couple of maintenance jobs to do such as securing some toilet seats and reattaching the towel holder in one of the bathrooms. These however are just small issues which didnt effect our overall stay. We would love to return to this property. Thank you.
Great house, lovely peaceful surrounds
Deborah
We loved our stay at this gorgeous property. It had everything we needed and was great for the kids! The hosts were friendly and helpful. Would definitely review and would like to stay again

What a perfect holiday home ! !! Hen Hafod is surrounded by such beautiful scenery. It is perfect for family gatherings as it facilitates all generations from a fabulous fitted and well equipped kitchen to a games room , trampoline and rope swing ! There is lots of outdoor space and noisy games and fun can be enjoyed to the full as there are no neighbours to disturb ! The choice of two lounges , large bedrooms and even a smaller central outdoor area means that there is always space to retreat if necessary ! Last ,but by no means least , is the luxurious hot tub ! Absolutely fabulous!
Beautiful place, well designed. Loved the kitchen with double island!! Hot tub was great, and the views from living room amazing!!
We had a wonderful stay at Hen Hafod and also met dyfrig the owner who was most pleasant and attentive when we had a couple of issues with the electrics. We missed a bbq facility, but the accommodation was very comfortable and luxurious. We would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend to friends. Thankyou for a wonderful stay.
Excellent location really private, property fab for our needs plenty of room for us all with added bonus of games room and hot tub. Fab to have washing machine and dryer especially when it rained. Lovely grounds loads of room for everyone and our dogs
