Melody Reviews

Really enjoyed the house, only thing was ensuite toilet seat was loose and bedroom door wouldnt latch closed so had to but bag behind to keep door closed but other than that a lovely house and area would love to revisit in the summer.
I don't usually provide feedback, but feel it appropriate and necessary on this occasion. Our thoughts regarding Melody can easily be split into 2 sections inside and outside. Location The view of the coast from the property is very limited, but the location is very handy for easy access to the beach and pretty harbour area, and the village tourist and grocery shops, pubs cafe chip shop are just a short stroll away. We found it to be a quiet and very friendly village. Inside The house fixtures and fittings have been fitted out to a high specification, modern, clean and comfortable it's lovely. We were frustrated to be without simple kitchenware like casseroles and serving spoons, and a choice of wine glass other than the lovely large goblets to enjoy a champagne moment would have been nice... There is plenty of storage space in kitchen cupboards that swallowed our food delivery with ease. We had an issue when trying to connect the wifi, and in a very short time the property owner was on the phone and was very concerned and helpful . A nice approach. Outside Before we booked Melody, we read other feedback saying that gates were needed on either side of the house to prevent dogs getting out of the back garden and onto the road. I spoke with Sykes, who contacted the owners, gates were fitted and we felt happy to book our holiday. On arrival, we found the gates were great but the rear garden had a quite new but incomplete fence down one side, leaving a 2 foot gap where an attempt had been made to block it with a collapsed bamboo screen.... and part of the rear boundary that was not fenced at all just a grassy bank and hedging with large gaps beneath. So the access out to the front was dog friendly, but the pet security of the side and back were sadly lacking very disappointing considering that Sykes and the owners were both aware of our concerns before our booking. Our Sykes contact confirmed that, following my call on arrival day, the owners had been made aware of our fencing concerns, but during a direct phone call they claimed to be unaware and unable to help during our stay. My advice to dog owners would be to seek confirmation of improvement before booking. The garden was the only one in the street that had long grass, front and rear, and the rear raised paving area had loose paving stones that were very unsteady, nearly resulting in a fall I wonder if having given the house a make over, and fitted an extensive quality decking area, the remainder of the garden might be a future project? I hope so because the house deserves it. Either way, it will come too late to rescue what should have been our relaxed holiday. The house is lovely, and we would certainly consider going again, but not until the garden issues are properly addressed.

A fabulous property in a great location, a wonderful stay was had by us and our dogs. It would be useful to have a quick checklist, that is easy to find, about bin collection days, what to do with used bed linen & towels on leaving and a reminder of the leaving time. It would also have been handy to have use of a vacuum cleaner as just using a brush and dustpan isn't very effective. We had a great time and the open plan layout of the property was lovely. Thank you.
Brilliant stay. Close to everything and house had all we needed.
Beautiful property and excellent location. Peaceful stay.
This property has everything you need for a good family break, we went with our 2 children and our grandchildren. The girls had to share a double bed it was OK as they weren't to old. In my opinion it would have been better if one of the double rooms did have twin beds each family had there own bathrooms. It's a perfect location close to the sea . Would we go again. Yes definitely. The property was clean we had a issue on arrival as the cot we asked for wasn't available we contacted sykes and within 30 minutes a few phone calls this was rectified. In the information folder there is no information of when the refuse collection are this would be handy as the recycling containers were full when we got there and still full when we left.

Lovely holiday. The property was a joy to stay in. The hot tub was a great bonus The beds a little small as used to king beds at home. Perfect holiday with various age group.
We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful place. The house is very comfortable and tastefully decorated and the photos dont do it justice. 4 double bedrooms and 3 bathrooms provided plenty of space for all our family with elderly parents and 3 older teens. We all enjoyed the cozy lounge with the fire burning and the dining area was perfect for a family meal. The hot tub was thoroughly enjoyed by the kids and the older generation loved the sunroom especially the board games which were a lovely touch. There was ample parking for the 3 cars we arrived in on the driveway and it was just a minutes walk to the bottom of the street and across the road to the beautiful beach. In the village within a few minutes walk to the left we found a fabulous chip shop, gift store, Morrisons local, 2 pubs and the lovely harbour restaurant and bar where we enjoyed 2 evening meals. The teens favourite was the farm shop vending machine selling lovely local milkshake and treats just a 10 minute walk to the right, well worth a visit! We had a lovely break in the perfect location to celebrate our wedding anniversary
Accommodation was outstanding. The lay out was brilliant for us as a 7 with 1 medium dog. Very relaxing with hot tub. 2 gates been added to side of house so pets can't get out, after reading earlier review was a little worried about this. Could do with 2 extra small pans for cooking. Took our own cleaning stuff again after reading review but been add in accommodation. Also on arrived was tea coffee small milk and Welsh cakes Definitely go back again .
We had a lovely time, and would definitely book again just one small issue, its advertised as dog friendly and we took our 2 dogs but both side entrances to the house were not blocked off at all, no gates and dogs could get out easily! Otherwise it was lovely, clean, very comfortable and we had a fabulous stay. Thank you
An enjoyable stay in a beautifully renovated and decorated house, ideally located for beach access and coastal walks. The village has all the amenities you might need within a few minutes walk. Milk, Welsh Cakes, dishwasher tablets and washer pods, washing up liquid left for our use. Beds comfortable, bedding and towels spotless and fresh. The hot tub is brilliant addition! As the second occupants might we suggest a hoover, mop and polish for the wooden dining table. Having two small grandchildren and dog, these would have helped to keep on top of crumbs and spillages. A few small serving dishes, a teapot and large cutting board would also have been useful. The outside bin was full on arrival and wasnt collected the week of our stay when we checked the council website. A note for dog owners, there is open access to both sides of the property. Such a shame that the televisions wouldnt connect to the wifi there isnt a tv ariel. The owner was contactable and apologeticthe lovely housekeeper called round with her husband to try to solve the problem to no avail. A few tweaks and Melody is perfect!!
The house is amazing and beautifully decorated. we had a fantastic stay with you. the location was perfect. beds are super comfy. the log burner is a great touch. A couple of small things to either list as not provided, or to provide would be Bin bags more information on where to dispose of rubbish a hoover or sweeping brush as we wanted to sweep the floors to keep them clean only small details. other than that, we would definitely book again and recommend this to anyone
