Cwm Pennant Reviews

Carrie
Check in is 15. 00 we arrived at 16.00 and couldnt get in, when we did we discovered the oven is loose and pulls out of the housing, the floor in the kitchen is dangerous, severe trip hazard. The door to the garden is hung the wrong way round, fall hazard. There are no lights in the hot tub garden area. Also the rubbish in the garden is a ratseagull heaven, several plug sockets dont work and we weren't convinced the bed sheets had been changed! With a bit of thought and time this place could be stunning but as it stands it really shouldnt be let out.

I arrived at the property at 3. 50pm along with my sister and two kids and my friend and was disappointed to find the bungalow had not been cleaned There were dirty towels on the floors the beds was not made and also the kitchen was a state with the stove having been used and left as its as and a baking tray used and not washed the sink area where there was dirt accumulated under the drying rack which had dishes drying on there. We ended up wiping down areas just so we could make brews The bathroom sinks were dirty and also the bins in bathroom were full there were labels and hangers in one of the bedroom Hair on the sofas and Clearly someone had stayed here and no cleaner had been in to clean prior to our arrival. This was shocking and also put a downer to the start of our holiday We contacted the number given and a cleaner contacted us who was lovely and started cleaning whilst we were here we had travelled from Preston and the kids and ourselves were hungry and were looking forward to sitting down for a meal but the kitchen was in no state to be used. It was 5.30 ish and the cleaner was still here so it is very much an inconvenience as we were just hanging around waiting.i also received a call just then to say the hot tub needs a clean and asked us if they could come clean it to which I agreed and he also said he needed to use the water which added to the inconvenience and we advised them to clean them so we could use the hot tub the next day. But that time its was like 6.30pm and we started our holiday. The house was nice overall if it was clean and everything was ok the. I would have gave full 5 stars but our holiday started not so good. Afterwards we also notice hazard in kitchen the floor was dangerous they need to sort that out they have put rug there but its not big enough I have pictures of it too, and Sykes did not contacted me back but after I came back I get the feedback email. The owner away good as he sorted everything out. Sykes please let the owner know next time on time so they can clean the house before next guest.

Bins overflowing when we arrived understand it was NY so collection may have been different but it shouldnt be like this for new paying guests. No collection during the period of our stay and we had neighbours complaining to us as seagulls made a mess of the bins on the 1st night of our stay, we collected all the mess ourselves in the rain. We had to make a makeshift bin area in the garden for ours. Rubbish was all over the gardenfront areastreet from previous guests Broken floor in kitchen in multiple places braking as walking on it, which was very dangerous, especially as we had young children with us Broken lightswitch in bunk bed bedroom Oven not screwedfitted in kitchen fell out when opened door Shower in ensuite very loose not fixed Hot tub was unusable as not warm on 1st night surely can have a fitting from the hot tap in kitchen to fill with warmer water so its ready and not fill with cold? Hot tub was on a programmetimer and went colder on NYD so was unusable again for a 2nd night Hot tub lights didn't work, the garden light was blocked by the big shed and when in hot tub, it was dark and we had to use the light of our phones when in there TV wrong remotes for the TV, couldnt turn off subtitles or the automated adverts for the TV need the correct remote Was generally a nice property but it seems the building work has been rushed and there is a lot of snagging to be done for guests to be happy with the property

We had a wonderful stay! The house exceeded our expectations in every way. Not only was it impeccably clean, but it also exuded a warm and inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The highlight of our stay was definitely the hot tub a perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. The location couldn't have been better being within walking distance to the beach allowed us to easily enjoy the stunning coastline. It provided the ideal blend of tranquility and convenience. The thoughtful amenities and attention to detail by the host made our experience truly memorable. We can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our time here. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway in a fantastic location with topnotch accommodations, this is the place for you. Five stars all the way we can't wait to come back!
Thank you for a lovely holiday. Great location, perfect base to explore wales. Clean and modern property.

There were several safety issues within the property which made it unsuitable for disabled or young children. I have taken photos of these and will be contacting further. The property itself is nice , clean and uncluttered but without adequate cooking or household utensils. eg no iron, tiny pans and no casserole dishes. Small things but we had to go and buy them. The property currently breaks lots of safety requirements for a holiday let, the laminate in the kitchen is a trip hazard, the cooker slips easily out of its housing when you open the door, the outside step has a significant drop, which is more dangerous because of the angle of the door. Beware the hot tub, it hasnt been properly maintained and the water has algae in it. A simple fix but one that we werent prepared to undertake ourselves.
The house was really nice, it had everything that we needed and it was really clean. The house was always nice and warm, it was warm on arrival which was really nice to walk into. The garden was lovely and maintained well. A few bad points were the flooring in the kitchen, luckily I dont have young children or crawling children because the laminate is broken and catches your feet when you walk on it. The hot tap and the cold tap are backwards in the main bathroom, the toilet seat also isnt attached properly in the main bathroom. The light fitting in the main bedroom squealed when the light is on so I couldnt use it. The hot tub needs a clean the water was a funny colour, it was very slippery on the bottom we only used it once because of this. The back door is very difficult to open when its been locked so much so I had to ask my husband to do it each time I needed to go out. If these bits were addressed the property on a whole is really nice and well worth a visit.

On arrival we found the rubbish bins overflowing and strewn all over the driveway not a great start but put right on day 2 On entry very nice bungalow well set out. Then the fun began the laminate kitchen floor had lifted in places and bits were breaking off and it became a trip hazard, the oven hasnt been fixed to the cabinet so when you pull the door open the whole oven follows and the socket behind the microwave doesnt work. The toilet seat in the main bathroom is broken and moves each time you sit on it and the taps in the bath have been plumbed in backwards hot is cold and cold is hot. Shower head in en suite loose and small head doesnt stay in place. Last of all the hot tub on removing the lid the smell was awful and the water quite dirty looking we reported it to the caretaker who did manage to get a guy to come from his sick bed to clean it and refill it sadly we think it needs replacing as by day 4 the smell had started to return the hot tub guy agreed. Please can they also put in a step from patio doors in bedroom as its rather a drop. Lastly pillows and mattress in main bedroom have no protectors on so on removal of bed linen they had stains on them. We did ring the caretaker and point out these things but nothing happened with any maintenance apart from the hot tub. Thank you Luke. We had a nice few days but kept wondering what we would find next taking pictures as we found faults so we werent blamed for anything think the owner needs to take a look around.
When we arrived the property was lovely however when checking the property at the beginning we noticed that the toilet seat in the main bathroom was broken so we mainly used the toilet in the ensutie as didn't want to cause anymore damage to it, and there was also the mirror was cracked and the wall by the front door had a chip in it above head height. Also the bins there needs to be more of a notice that the bins need putting out as if you don't look in the book you will not know about this like us But other thank that the bungalow is lovely very homely and would 100 book again. Many Thanks Linda
