Dan Y Coed Reviews

Rebecca
We had a really wonderful family stay, celebrating my Daughters 18th Birthday. Plenty of room for the 8 of us and our 2 spaniels. The cabin is lovely and warm, fully equipped, even with towels for the hot tub. Plenty of space in the utility for the air fryer we brought with us too! Two fridges means you can stock up on food and drinks! The only thing I would say missing, is a lamp in the front room to had to the snug feel. The views are absolutely stunning and I was sad to wake up without them today! It is very remote but absolutely worth it with the beautiful surroundings, walking path and animals outside. Local shop is a 10 minute drive. We will definitely book again

We had a lovely stay for my birthday celebrations. The house was well equipped with everything we needed. Location was stunning and so peaceful would highly recommend and would absolutely return in the future.
Absolutely beautiful accommodation, immaculate. Very secluded, nothing around but beautiful views. So peaceful. Had a wonderful stay and we will definitely be staying again. Cannot fault anything with this place at all.
It was absolutely perfect for us and our large dog. The property was spotlessly clean and is equipped with everything you could possibly need. Hot tub is fantastic of course, even nicer in the rain! Our dog loved having a big garden to sniff about in and there's a great walk right on the doorstep being the Offas Dyke footpath. We had eggs from the farm, had a great meal in the Horse and Jockey pub which is lovely. Can't go wrong with this place.
Lovely peaceful setting. Plenty of room for everyone and we really enjoyed the hot tub. Would definitely recommend.
Great holiday! Amazing views. Cabin was beautiful. Great location. Will be back!

This is the second time weve stayed at Dan y coed. And we just love it. Never want to come back home. Its equipped with everything and more that you need. Its turkey like a home away from home but with a stunning view. The owner Miranda is friendly and extremely healpful wth anything you need. Listening to the sheep and watching the pigs was just blissful. Would highly recommend and Im sure we will be visiting again. Thankyou for another great stay allowing us to have much needed family time! Kind regards Louise and family! X
Alexandra
The lodge was immaculately clean and equipped to an excellent standard. Such a peaceful location with beautiful walks right from the front door.
Joanna
The lodge was ideal for our party of 7, mix of teenagers and adults and two dogs, stunning location with excellent facilities, enjoyed the hot tub and amazing walking from the property. Eco cleaning products were lovely and property had such a friendly and welcoming vibe. Kettle was replaced with brand new within an hour of letting owner know it was leaking, amazing! Cannot wait to return, many thanks
George
Only downside we had was one night it was really cold but the heating wasn't working but when I phoned they did ask if we wanted heaters. The house was lovely and the scenery was brilliant and it's fantastic if you have a dog.
We had a wonderful time. Lovely place to stay and relax, really enjoyed ourselves despite the rain.
Samantha
Absolutely stunning! Property was clean comfortable and had absolutely everything we required for out weekend away. Will deffinately recommend and will deffinately be returning for another stay.
Jennifer
Such a beautiful lodge. We were able to totally switch off and just enjoy the peacefulness of the countryside. Due to time of year and such hot weather we were plagued by flying bugs in the decked area but that's nobody's fault and can't be helped. I'd fully recommend the farms fresh eggs, they were delicious! I have 2 dogs, a gentle well behaved whippet and a scared rescue fox hound who thinks she's houdini, however the garden was fully enclosed, I just had to put the string off my bikini on the side of the gates where she was able to squeeze through, which I stupidly forgot about and left, they're probably wondering why there was fluorescent pink string on the gates
Graham
Perfect stay. ...we have been travelling to wales for years and this is the best all round place we have stayed in...loved it ....the hot tub is a nice touch as we were fortunate with the weather and after a long day walking it was perfect to chill have a glass of bubbles and listen to the silence
Fab accommodation plenty of room for all of us hot tub amazing
Dan Y Coed was a homely, clean, well equipped lodge with beautiful views. It was very spacious and had everything we needed available. Beds were comfy and linentowels of good quality. A nice touch was the eco friendly cleaning goods provided. Wifi was good and the hot tub very relaxing. It was the perfect place to celebrate my Dad's 80th Birthday, he loved it! Will definitely recommend to others.
This was our third visit, we do absolutely love this lodge and its location. I did mention 6 months ago when we came that not all the buttons on the hot tub work properly. There is only one jet that is very powerful and if you sit next to it it's not very pleasant. They should all be working evenly. This doesn't seem to have been looked at. On this recent stay the shower door was broken and wouldn't close at all.
Joanna
Amazing stay. Great facilities. Owner nearby but left us to it, hot tub was great and the views were something else. Couldnt fault a thing. Will definitely be back soon.
Gillian
This was our 3rd time of staying there and would definitely stay there again. We had a couple of issues this time which was no Internet for the 1st day and a half of our 3 night stay but this was no fault of their own but Miranda went above and beyond and got it sorted. Nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be returning.
Beautiful place and we were lucky to be there when the snow was down which made the views absolutely stunning! Cabin was lovely and clean and really pretty all round.
Lovely lodge ! we rented both lodges ! Both were lovely and well equipped ! Would definitely love to go back again
An absolutely perfect stay. Our second time here, the last was February 2020. There was nothing that had not been thought of. Even decorated for christmas with a tree, festive place mats, cushions. Even gritted the roads for us before we left and let us stay longer until it was safe to drive. Will definitely revisit and recommend
Richard
We had an amazing stay a Dan Y Coed and will definitely be returning in the future. The lodge was warm, comfortable and provided everything you could want and more. We really enjoyed going off grid for a bit, not seeing people for a couple of days was bliss, lol! The only minor issues we had were the kettle as it appeared to have some limescale this could be down to the water in the area? & how slippy the outdoor decking was, just need to be careful when getting in and out of the tub. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our time and as mentioned before, well definitely be returning. Thank you!
This was our second stay but we didn't know the hot tub wouldn't be in use the first night. It might be worth adding that to the booking confirmation. Also regarding the hot tub it's not working properly. Seems like there is only one big jet working but sounds like it's struggling. Some of the buttons don't work either. In the lodge we didn't have any water for a few hours on the Saturday but worked ok later on. As I said this was our second stay and we will be back it's probably one of our favourite places. It's just a few things to note, especially hot tub.
Nicola
Absolutely stunning place everything was perfect we had a Brilliant week ... Absolutely stunning place everything was perfect we had a Brilliant week wouldn't change anything would definitely go back
Yvonne
Lovely cabin. It could be made more cosy with a big rug in the lounge. The beds were not the most comfy. Didnt understand not being able to exercise the dog in the garden as basically its just a field. I wouldnt call it a garden! It sleeps 8 but there is no way that you can sit 8 at the table. The views are amazing but I wouldnt return.
Absolutely beautiful and Miranda is brilliant
Matthew
Lovely cottage in a great location.
Lovely cottage which has unbelievable views! Perfect holiday for both relaxing and exploring.
Myself and my family including 5 children have just had the most wonderful stay at Dan Y Coed. As soon as we drove up, we knew this was a very special place to relax. Weve enjoyed exploring the area, some of it new to us and some of it weve seen on a previous visit in a slightly different location. The house had everything and more than what we needed. Towels for showers and a another set for the hot tub was a great touch. The beds were comfortable and the rooms just what we needed for our extended family. Looking across the fields every morning to that view made my days. The only sounds you can hear are sheep and birds. No cars, no hustle and bustle. Perfect!
Our family spent a brilliant week at Dan Y Coed. The cabin is cosy & well appointed & the hot tub was brilliant for relaxing after a day of exploring the Welsh countryside & hills. The view is glorious, we all spent time just sitting on the veranda looking at it. We were lucky enough that the moon was full one night, in a clear sky, & that was a sight to behold. Our only criticism, & it is a minor one, is the dining area because the space is restricted but this didnt in any way spoil anything. We had s fabulous week & would definitely recommend.
A lovely relaxing place to stay. Beautiful views, comfortable, clean, spacious, with all the home comforts you need.
The downstairs double bed mattress wasn't comfortable for a full night's sleep. The oven took ages to cook anything even on the correct settings, and there were no bowls for mixing. These are minor issues and in no way affected our enjoyment of the holiday. The cabin itself was lovely and cosy in a beautiful setting. The hot tub was a lovely way to relax at the end of a day sightseeing.
Absolutely beautiful location, ideal for a relaxing break, the scenery is stunning and fantastic walks literally on your doorstep. The lodge was very well equipped and very spacious, a lot of thought has gone into ensuring guests have everything they need, particularly love the environmentally friendly cleaning products that were there to use. Its the best place we have stayed and will definitely be coming back and highly recommend
This is probably the most beautiful place Ive stayed, the lodge was very clean, cosy and spacious. The surroundings are just beautiful. Ive already tried to book to come but back its pretty full. Id defiantly be back.
Such a fantastic place, beautiful property and truly in an idyllic location! ! The owner couldn't have been more helpful when my naughty dog jumped in hot tub and it had to be cleaned! Thoroughly recommend and we can't wait to come back!
Hannah
We had an amazing time, the house was so lovely and extremely scenic. Some great albeit hilly walks. Very secluded. Loved the hot tub, its a shame it wasnt able to be on the first day due to having to be refilled and heated, but we made up for this the rest of the time. Would return again and definitely recommend.
We absolutely loved our weekend break here. The setting is idilic, nothing around you other than beautiful scenery. The perfect location for R&R. Barely any negative points other than the downstairs beds werent as comfortable as the beds upstairs and that not all the jets on the hot tub worked. Regardless of this we will absolutely return and would highly recommend.
Ashley
Absolutely fabulous stay. Everything was amazing. The lodge was so cosy, the kitchen well equipped, the cleanliness sparkling and the hot tub was a lush addition, somewhere you can definitely rewind in a peaceful and tranquil setting. We definitely recommend and will be returning in the future!
Debbie
Great Holiday nice and peaceful. Perfect for getting away and relaxing. Cottage was lovely and clean.
