Copper Beech Cottage Reviews

Amazing place with incredible views. Wonderful couple that own the property who were helpful and supportive throughout our stay. Even when it snowed. Best week ever. We will be back. X
This was our third stay at the cottage and it was fabulous as usual. Great setting in the winter, can't wait to go back!
Such a great stay at a lovely secluded cottage. So many walks right from the door. Enjoyed the hot tub most days. Beautiful views of the surrounding hills and lots of places visited including Lakes Distillery, Ravenglass & Dalegarth railway, Yewdale Inn in Coniston has amazing pies. Enjoyed motor boats on Coniston
This is the fourth time at Copper Beech and we love it! So comfortable, peaceful and clean. The hot tub helps soothe the body after a great walk but also a place to view the night sky. The cottage is so well equipped. We are very happy to recommend it.
Perfect position. Spotlessly clean. Friendly owners. We had a lovely relaxing eeek.
Samantha
The cottage is in a fantastic location with fields and hills all around. It was great waking up to the sheep and cows which my kids loved. The road to the cottage was a narrow road but the scenery was so nice with many sheep, goats and a few horses to look out for. The cottage had everything you need and the layout was lovely. Cant fault it. The Hottub gowns were a bonus. Would definitely stay again absolutely perfect. Sam, Rich and Kids
We had a fantastic break, this is our second time here and it did not disappoint. The cottage is lovely, with a beautiful outlook and setting, we hope to return!
Lovely cottage. Clean throughout. All as described on the listing. Beautiful views in a secluded spot.
Lovely property, finished to a high standard. Very comfortable and would come back again.
Had a lovely stay great scenery and nicely furnished cottage. Couldnt find chopping board but it may have been there somewhere. Would highly recommend loved the hot tub. Many thanks
We had a lovely stay at Copper Beech, the cottage was exceptionally clean and had everything we needed. Set in a beautiful location with the hot tub as a great addition. We would definitely return.
The perfect remote getaway cottage! It may be down a very long and narrow lane, but thats what remote is, right! With views and walks on your doorstep and the only noise that of the river, its perfect! Beds and facilities super comfy. Baths in both rooms and very modern at that, amenities spot on even down to bath robes for the hot tub and extra towels. We wanted for nothing. Thoroughly recommend.
Fabulous cottage and location. Everything was perfect.
Angela
It is not clear in the advert for the cottage that it is attached to another cottage. There was an awful urine smell in the bathroom for the bedroom straight ahead when you you walk in the cottage. My husband believes there maybe a problem with the pipe work, the smell comes and goes. The carpet needs replacing through out, the dressing gown had holes in all, all 4 need replacing, very old and tatty, no real information pack, just a small folder with basis info. Hot tub lovely, location fabulous but cottage not up to standard.
Cottage is modern and clean. Two double bedrooms downstairs and ensuite bathrooms with bathshowers. Hot tub overlooking the hills is the key feature! Easy access to walks around the area. Dog friendly, though there are a lot of sheep around so keep on the lead. Sky TV for evenings and relaxing, if you need it. Wood burner for a nice fire if it gets cold, but central heating as well. Beware the 2 mile single track road up to the cottage, tricky if you have a modern bigish car, with few passing points if you encounter someone coming the other way. Wifi is available but patchy & mobile signal varies based on network. Overall, excellent. Great for a getawayfromitall break. Sunset in hot tub overlooking the hills is an experience not to be missed.

The cottage was lovely very well equipped with all you need. The owners were very friendly.I would certainly recommend this place and go back
Beautiful tranquil location and lovely homely cottage. Hosts extremely helpful and friendly. A real gem.
Amazing cottage with hot tub over looking the hills. The owners are friendly and helpful.
Rebecca
The cottage was fantastic and in a brilliant location. It was very clean and really well equipped.
Wonderful Getaway. The best thing about Copper Beech Cottage is its amazing location. We enjoyed many scenic walks from the front door, including to the top of Coniston Old Man. The cottage itself is very comfortable, immaculately clean and well equipped. The Icing on the cake was the hot tub with its wonderful views. We were lucky enough to have some clear nights and the stars just took our breath away.
Beautiful cottage in amazing location.
Amanda
We had an extremely relaxing, quiet 4 night stay here in early Sept. Mum dad and me with the labrador. We loved the walks straight from the cottage and the hot tub was amazing. What a perfect location for it views of the hills all around. You cant predict the weather but the cottage was great. I would have liked updated washing machine and dishwasher as they were a little tired and no instructions so you had to guess what programme to put them on. Sky TV was great and the new addition of wifi was unexpected but much needed as you can then sit at home and plan your day. We did Blencathra and the local Coniston water lake walk. We also went to Stavelely and visited the artisan bakery, amazing Wheelbase bike shop and Hawkshead brewery. We tried the local pub the Wilsons Arms and had fish and chips outside in the garden with the dog. Would have stayed much longer had it not been for my work. I'd go again in a heartbeat.
We had a great time in Cumbria. Copper Beech cottage was an excellent place to stay with fantastic views and great walking from the door. There was everything we needed in the cottage and the owner was so friendly and helpful. It was wonderful to relax in the hot tub in the evenings after a days hiking. Recommend the local pub and deli in Torver really tasty food.
Cottage was ideal. Lovely location, extremely clean and comfortable. Amazing views and walks all around.
Lovely cottage in a fantastic, quiet location. Very well equipped, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Lovely touches like bathrobes and plenty of towels in each bathroom and woodburner laid ready to light although we didn't need it as the weather was very warm and quite dry for the Lake District!. Hot tub was perfectly situated with spectacular views of the fells and night sky.
Nichola
The cottage is in a perfect location, secluded enough to enjoy a break away from everything but close enough to Coniston to drive to for exploring the mountains and Lakes in the surrounding area. The owners of the property were very helpful and friendly and gave us some advice on some local walks. The hot tub was just the icing on the cake for aching muscles after days out exploring. Would definitely recommend and would love to return.
Dennis
Great location if you want to do walking, water sports, cycling or if you just want peace and quiet. A great variety of places to visit around the area.
Carolyn
Beautiful setting , very quiet and the hot tub was amazing. The cottage was very warm and comfortable. After a long day out and about we loved coming back and sitting in the hot tub for the evening to unwind.
Make customers aware that hot tub is not actually in area attached to property
Such a beautiful cottage in a stunning location! We will be back!
Michelle
Great place to stay very much off the beaten track which is what we expectedwanted. The hosts were very welcoming and everything was clean and very well thought out. Even the log burner was all set up and ready to be lit. My only minor criticism would be to get a better DVD player. The pictures of the place do not do it justice such a lovely place!!
A perfect cottage with great hosts. Cannot fault the place
We loved the remoteness of the place and the absence of wifi and mobile signal! Our 10 year old son loved tge fact that within a couple of minutes walk he could get to an area where he could scramble over rocks. He loved it! Thank you very much
Sharon
The cottage was so relaxing and secluded from the outside world. The hot tub was a delight any time of the day.
Darren
Great cottage, well equipped and beautiful location would definitely stay again.

South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 10 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 10 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 16 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 17 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 20 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 25 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
