Great farmhouse, very spacious and lots of storage areas, we stayed a weekend but if there for longer would manage comfortably as plenty facilities too ie washing machine, dishwasher and clothes rack for drying. Lovely location in a farm and can be in town centre in about 10mins. Due to weather unfortunately didnt make use of hot tub but this also Read morelooked very clean and a good size! We had the most amazing week at braco and would love to go back in the future. The house was so clean and modern with everything you could need to make your stay homely and comfortable. The location of the house is perfect to travel round to local places for the kids with the most we drove being 45 mins and the least 10 mins. We had a fabulous time at Braco. The farmhouse is spacious, well set out, immaculately clean and has everything required for a great holiday. The outside patio with comfy furniture, hot tub and grass to the side had fabulous views and provided the perfect place to relax. It was secure for our dog and our daughter was fascinated watching all the wil d rabbits in the garden and fields nearby. Wouldn't hesitate to rebook as it was so relaxing, spacious and well equipped.

Cottage was lovely very clean loved the decor kitchen was a great size & very well equipped thanks for the lovely well come pack tea & coffee supplied. Bedroom were a good size & had lovely views over fields lots of rabbits running about which made my grandaughter very happy. We had an absolutely brilliant weekend at Braco Farm. The house was beautiful, every room spotless and immaculately decorated. And lots of storage. We received a lovely welcome basket and the kitchen had every gadget you could ask for. The toaster could even fit whole slices of bread, none of the having to turn it halfway through! The highlight was that every single window gave picture perfect views. The rural location meant no light pollution so star gazing from the hot tub was bliss.

This is a beautifully furnished and decorated property. It was spotlessly clean and well stocked with appliances and kitchen equipment. The surrounding countryside is beautiful but quite remote, the nearest shop and pub being a 15 minute drive away. It's therefore very quiet and peaceful. We were welcomed with a small hamper of goodies so were able to have a cuppa as soon as we arrived.

What a fantastic place to stay. We are a family of 7 adults and a 9 month old baby. We love to get together for family meals and a good laugh. Braco Cottage was a great place to do this. The accommodation was second to none. There was everything we needed. The space was great, beds were comfy, it was lovely and clean and we loved the bonus of the h ot tub. Would definitely holiday there again for longer next time - 4 nights wasn't enough time and we didn't want to leave!! Thank you :)

Our stay at Braco cottage was fantastic, its honestly the most beautiful farm house Ive seen, I could live there. The decor, the cleanliness, the comfy beds, the view, the hot tub, the owners have thought of everything to make sure you have an amazing holiday. Its very remote which we loved, we never ventured far, just a walk through the village an d back, and we went to the dairy farm for some milk! we had a very relaxed, lazy 3 night stay. 5 of us stayed at this cottage recently for 3 nights as part of a friends hen do. The property was exactly as described, is beautifully decorated and very homely. More than the essentials were supplied, with bread milk, coffee, biscuits.etc. on arrival. Check in was easy and contactless and communication was efficient with the owner. If you follow the directions supplied it is easy to find. Would definitely stay again, wood burner and hot tub sealed the deal. Excellent value for money!

Mabie Farm Park is a firm favourite. Ideal for families with younger children ,this family oriented farm park has lots of animals to meet and also offers Donkey Rides, Paddle Boats and Slides as well as Trampolines and Bouncy Castles. Kids can run around on the Soft Play Area while mum and dad relax in the Tea Room. There is also a Farm Shop onsite selling toys, gifts and fresh local produce including cakes and jams. Seasonal activities can also be enjoyed including a spookly tea and walk on Haloween. The Farm closes for the winter on October 31st.

Castle Douglas - DG7 1TJ

about 12 Miles

We also recommend a visit to Castle Douglas and the Treasure Hunt Treasure Trails. These treasure hunts are great fun for the whole family and are an entertaining way to explore a new town or village. Children will enjoy solving the clues whilst learning about the history of the area. The walking trail is suitable for wheelchair users and those with pushchairs so no one is left out of the fun.
