Pull on your walking boots for country lanes from the doorstep or travel 8 miles to tackle the ridges of the Malvern Hills. For shops and a wealth of eateries, Tewkesbury (4 miles) has a mix of medieval streets, timber-fronted shops and cosy cafés to dine in.

Alternatively, head to the Cotswold Designer Outlet (9 miles) or Cheltenham (11.5 miles), where there are even more eateries and boutiques to choose from. History is woven through this special area too, with Tewkesbury Abbey, Gloucester Cathedral and Painswick Rococo Garden all within 16 miles.

Even a day in the Cotswolds is easily accessible (15.5 miles). Follow the tree-lined drive, park beside the landscaped grounds and make the short walk to this special lakeside cabin.

Inside, exposed timber walls and quirky beams give the cabin a warm, cocooning feel which is a delight after blustery walks. The stylish kitchen has everything needed for fuss-free self-catering, with a bench-style dining area conveniently set alongside.

At the other end, soft seating faces the Smart TV, and when it gets a little toasty, turn up the air conditioning and settle down for a cool, comfortable film night. A shower room with WC completes the ground floor.

If it's time to get some sleep, venture up the open-tread spiral staircase that leads to a mezzanine floor where the king size bed sits beneath the arched ceiling.
