Hambleton House Reviews

Jim Matthews
Hambleton House was a really good place for us to meet up for our annual gathering of 2 families. Right in the heart of the large village of Castle Donnington, which has quite a few narrow roads, the guaranteed car parking space was a real plus. The property was warm and inviting with a variety of spaces for various combinations of family to gather and share together. We had our 'puzzle' room, our 'reading' room as well the designated games room which many of us enjoyed over the 4 days including the old fashioned Atari Arcade game and there was the hot tub area. The only space that didn't quite work for us collectively was the dining room which we all couldn't get into for a single seating. The kitchen served each of our 'cooks' well with a different one stepping up each night and was a good focal point for our breakfasts as folks descended in their own time. We had great fun allocating bedrooms and everyone was complimentary about the one they were in. There was one room which we felt was musty but we did have 2 rooms to spare with our party so it didn't have to be used. Overall, the feeling was very positive towards Hambleton House from our whole party and we would be more than happy to return to it.
Really good accommodation for large groups. Several separate areas which work well. Great games room and hot tub. Kitchen very well equipped. Bedrooms were all fine. Only a few points Id note no instructions for the cookeroven or dishwasher. Decor a bit datedtired in places. Carpet throughout the upstairs is the same pattern so we tripped several times on steps. No ends in the pool cues. But on the whole wed definitely book again the future.

We had a wonderful time celebrating my wifes birthday at Hambleton House. The kitchen, games room, dining room and outdoor hot tub were all fantastic and made the stay really special. We did have a small issue with one of the radiators not working, but aside from that everything was excellent and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Several friends of ours have been asking about the property so I have provided links back to this lovely property which I would happily return to.

This place was amazing. It accommodated us, 10 adults, 7 kids and 1 dog, really well and the location was great too. With plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. We particularly loved the games room and hot tub, not to mention the great parking too! The property was really well presented overall and we had everything we needed to make it a very memorable stay.
