Lovely property with plenty of space for a large group of family or friends. Great bedrooms with 2 ensuite & 2 bathrooms. Good size separate laundry room. Spacious garden, not completely dog secure, but we managed very well. Hot tub was lovely to relax in. Owner is on hand if necessary. Lots of places to visit, walks etc. The Green Tree pub within walking distance serves great food usually need to book a table. Outside space has a tall wooden houseslide & swings for children to play. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, thank you Mark for your kind hospitality
Sharon
We had a lovely couple of nights here, well equipped comfortable house. Gorgeous garden and hot tub with amazing views. We visited the green tree pub over the road and had a great meal. Comfy beds and plenty of space to relax in we will be returning.
We really enjoyed our stay at Stackyard House. It was the perfect location to celebrate my wife's special birthday. The sunset from the hot tub was breathtaking. The owner was very helpful. I would highly recommend the local pub The Green Tree. We would love to return. Thank you very much
Lovely spacious property with ample rooms, bathrooms and storage. Lovely hot tub and private garden. Good base to visit from but we never ventured out. Only went to the local pub over the road and had an excellent Sunday lunch. Property was perfect for our family birthday celebrations.
Arnold
A beautiful, modern, well appointed home that more than met our expectations. Incredible property and views in a quiet neighbourhood with walking trails. We did not want to leave! I highly recommend.
Clifford
Great location with great views. Downside is that fixtures and fittings were of poor quality, and cooking utensils were worn out or dirty. Nowhere near enough crockery for 10 people, fortunately there were only 7 of us.
Plenty of space for 10 of us, a lovely garden and view and set in a peaceful village location. A good location for day trips to Raby and Seaham. We would recommend this house for large family holidays.
Stephen
Highly recommend this cottage. Great location in Tudhoe Village. Great accommodation. Roomy plenty of facilities and very clean. Enjoyed the hot tub. The owner is very friendly and helpful. A great base to explore the area.
Ashlie
Fantastic property and lovely owners who went over and above to make our stay perfect.
We celebrated my parents 50th wedding anniversary here with two families. The home was clean and spacious. Kitchen is big and had everything we needed. Spacious bedrooms and clean with towels present . Hot tub was clean and well maintained. Garden was enclosed which was great for our two dogs. Friendly support if needed. Lovely pub down the road and a nice walk down to a stream . I cant think of anything bad to say except maybe the mattresses need updating. We loved the space outside and got very lucky with the weather. Our children loved it and would highly recommend this home.
Fantastic property and, if anything, the photos on the website don't do it justice. The garden was a joy with uninterrupted views in all directions a relaxing and scenic way to end the day after the hustle and bustle of Durham City. The owners couldn't have been more helpful so a big thanks to them.
The location was perfect, beautiful countryside and quiet. Lovely dogchild safe garden. Spacious property and great for 10 people. The owner was very helpful and kept the hot tub clean and maintained. A BBQ would have been greatly appreciated and some outdoor games.
Had a great stay at Stackyard house. Checking in checking out was simple and straightforward. Everything we needed was there. Tudhoe village is lovely with realy friendly residents. Would definately recomend to others.
Jessica
It was a beautiful house with plenty of room. We went to celebrate my dads 60th birthday. We enjoyed our time. My only criticism is that only one jet on the hot tub worked.
Stephanie
This is an amazing place to stay. There were 9 of us and it felt very spacious. Everything is beautifully done up and comfortable. The owner is very professional and helpful. We particularly enjoyed using the hot tub looking at the beautiful countryside. We would definitely consider coming back!

Had an absolutely brilliant weekend. Can't recommend this house enough. Can't think of anything negative about anything. 2 Families having an early Christmas celebration, house was decorated for us. Hot tub was great stayed nice and hot even when the outside temp was 5! Host was very attentive but not in your face, there if you needed anything. 5 Star
Danielle
We had such an amazing stay in this beautiful house. The hot tub was huge and a real plus, the location was idyllic! Cant fault anything and we will be booking again in the future, thank you!
Judith
Lovely big spacious cottage lots of space it's our 2nd time here we were the 2nd family to stay when it was built in may 2021 then again this year in October 2023 would certainly recommend it we all had a great four chilled days here from monday 30th October till friday 3rd November there were a family of 6 of us myself my partner my daughter , son in law , 2 grandchildren and their 2 dogs hot tub was great very spacious too .
We loved this place. We celebrated our mother 70th birthday at the property. Was nice to have your own ensuite and a downstairs toilet. The large longue area was prefect for a group of 10 people which included children.we stayed within the area, as it had lovely walks and a nice local pub to go to after. If we can we are hoping to re book next year.
Our family had a great stay in this beautiful, well equipped, modern and comfortable, pristine house. The rooms were all very spacious and our grandchildren loved playing in the beautiful garden, while we enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. The little village of Tudhoe is lovely and very peaceful with many lovely walks and we were so close to Durham with all the amenities it has to offer,
Carole
The house generally was excellent and I'd recommend it to anyone based on the bedrooms, bathrooms and the wider living area. Huge space, well maintained, extremely comfortable. The garden was properly enclosed for the dogs. Couldn't fault the core offering. The gripes are trivial and fixable more big pans, please, a bit more cleaning of the hot tub before guests arrive, and maybe relook at the angles of the security cameras to take them off guest areas and onto access points.
Lovely big house and garden. We were a family of adults and kids celebrating a 70th bday party. Owner kindly gave us permission to have other family guests mainly kids and elderly over for an afternoon to celebrate a bday bbq and hire a bouncy castle. Extremely concerned that the owner had multiple cameras on the outside of the property. Three of these were pointing at the outdoor area and hot tub. This was not disclosed in the booking. We had children getting in and out of the hot tub and feel this is very inappropriate to have cctv on them. The owner visited daily to clean the hot tub and made several comments how dirty it was dont know what he expected when this was placed on the grass. He made lots of negative comments regarding previous guests. In reality we think he was checking up on us which felt very invasive.
Lynsey
The house is very spacious, so was perfect for us and we were 2 families of 4. The views were amazing and the garden with the hot tub and a bonus. Quiet location, but great for exploring the rest of the county durham.
Michael

When we arrived at the property it was very clean & tidy the standard of the rooms was very high & the kitchen & bathrooms were to a very high standard the outside space was very neat & tidy & the girls loved the hot tub overall a very enjoyable stay would definitly recommend this property to anybody
Beautiful house in a beautiful location
Pamela
A beautiful house and large private garden with spectacular views and hot tub was maintained by owner every day so it was a perfect place to stay Having toilet and a twin room downstairs was ideal for elderly relative. The 4 rooms upstairs were spacious and bedding clean The settees were comfy and accommodated all our group and the chairs and loungers outside were ideal to relax there is a pub within walking distance and a few miles up road was an alDi to get any supplies. This accommodation is a great find and lives upto the pictures and info that is advertised
Antony
This is a wonderful property in a lovely rural location, the owner is extremely helpful and we had a very nice holiday
Michael
A modern and well maintained house in a quiet location with many local walks on the doorstep, but within 150 metres of a pub with good food. Owner visited us every day and was very helpful. There are numerous places to visit within 1 hour drive.
Angela
Fabulous property with everything you need and very friendly and approachable owner
House was lovely and the view was superb. Hot tub huge! Owner Mark was very helpful and on hand close by. Rooms were furnished to a high standard and very comfortable. The area surrounding the house is just lovely. We didn't leave the property for the 2 days we were there because the weather was brilliant and we were enjoying the hot tub and views too much! If the house had a larger fridge freezer or a second one in the utility, that would be a bonus as we did struggle to get all the excess amounts of food and drink that we bought into the single fridge freezer. We have already reccomended the house to others and would definitely return.
A fantastic property in a peaceful location. The house was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. It is very spacious and a great layout for all ages in the family. The hot tub and scenery was perfect and a brilliant enclosed garden. Would definitely recommend the local pub just a couple of minutes walk, we had a lovely Sunday lunch there. We will definitely return again in the future.
Christine
Property did not disappoint. Only negative point is there wasnt enough comfortable seating for the 10 of us females to sit down together. Perhaps replacing the old bean bags, one of which kept losing its filling, with 2 small armchairs. However the hot tub was a big hit and owner very accommodating when we had a problem with it. We would go back again. Tudhoe is a pretty little village
Absolutely loved our stay at Stackyard House and would definitely stay here again. Everything was furnished to a really high standard and the open plan downstairs was perfect for socialising as a group. Not to mention the views from the back of the house, it was quick to forget there were even other houses around. There is plenty of parking with use of overflow out towards the back of the house. The owner was really nice and was there if we ever needed anything. Again, I can't recommend this enough, far enough away from town to feel secluded yet close enough that any shops you need are only a couple of minutes drive away.
Hannah
Had such a great weekend here and would not hesitate to book again! This was for a weekend with my sister's family and it was perfect. It's a beautiful home with a great garden and walks from the property too this was great for the kids and dogs. The kitchen is very well stocked and there was plenty of room for us all is the living space. The bedrooms are very cosy and there are several bathrooms too! Would highly recommend thank you!
Deborah
Had a wonderful weekend stay, getting family together to celebrate my daughters 21st birthday. The property is absolutely beautiful, well equipped and very private with beautiful surroundings. Hot tub is a lovely touch. The owners are lovely, great communication and very welcoming. A lovely little pub not two minutes walk away serving food if you want it. Would definitely recommend Stackyard House and will definitely be returning at some point, ten out of ten.
Andrea
Beautiful, spacious, just perfect. This property had everything we needed for a family weekend away. The wonderful spacious living area with stunning views, was perfect for us all to spend time together. We also enjoyed exploring the local area on dog walks and visiting the village pub. Host to this property was extremely helpful and on hand if we needed anything. Only improvement we could recommend would be larger pans for cooking as a family of 10 we struggled a little bit, but this would not put us off returning to this amazing property.
Had a really enjoyable stay in this beautiful cottage over the New Year. We were a family of nine and the cottage was very spacious and comfortable. It was very clean and had all the amenities you could wish for and in an ideal location for exploring the surrounding area. The welcome gifts were very much appreciated. We would certainly recommend a stay here and will be definitely visiting some time again in the future

Go Ape Northumberland - NE48 1NT
about 26 Miles
Go Ape! has really taken off and become one of the most popular attractions in the UK.  The Northumberland course is set in the stunning grounds of Matfin Hall.  Described as a high wire forest adventure this really is one for the more daring as the course takes place right up in the tree tops.  Giant tree top obstacle courses include ladders, bridges, tunnels and some of the country's best zip lines.  You will be provided with all safety equipment and training on site.
Big Sheep - EX39 5AP
about 29 Miles
This is a recommended day out for families with young children visiting the Bedale area of Yorkshire.  Visit the farm and receive a warm welcome as well as a guided tour.  You will have the chance to bottle feed the lambs, bath a pig and handle some of the smaller animals.  Kids will love the big sandpit and the outdoor play area. There is also a cafe and indoor play area for when the weather is not on your side.
