Step into the spacious kitchen/diner, where natural light pours in and everything you need for cooking and entertaining is close at hand. It’s a space made for gathering—whether you're preparing a hearty breakfast or sitting down to a slow evening meal, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming.

The sitting room invites you to unwind, with soft furnishings and the gentle crackle of the woodburning stove adding a comforting touch. Whether you're curled up with a book or enjoying a film on the Smart TV, it’s the perfect spot to recharge after a day exploring the area.

Upstairs, three inviting bedrooms wait to embrace you, featuring two plush double beds, while the third enjoys the added luxury of an en-suite with a walk-in shower. A separate bathroom with a bath provides a peaceful space to soak and relax.

Outside, the garden is a haven for both play and peace. Children can run freely on the lawn, while adults enjoy alfresco dining on the patio or sink into the bubbling hot tub as the stars begin to appear overhead.

Beyond the garden gate, Cumbria’s rich history and natural beauty await. Step back into the Bronze Age with a trip to Long Meg and Her Daughters, one of the UK's largest stone circles, before embarking on an adventure to Lacy's Caves.

Wander around the ruins of Kirkoswald Castle, or discover the medieval mystery of Brougham Castle. Take a leisurely stroll through the delightful Castle Park, and immerse yourself in local folklore at King Arthur's Round Table.

Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 15 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 16 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 21 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 22 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
