Brantlea Reviews

We were a group of 8 and we all agreed this is the best place we have stayed ever. Its just brilliant. The views, facilities, cleanliness and vast space made this a very memorable trioo pop. Not far from town where the pubs and restaurants are and parking was more than adequate. Would definitely return, and all the instructions were very clear. A must stay!!
Can't recommend Brantlea enough. Everything has been thought about, the views are outstanding and the place feels super homely. Will definitely be returning.

We had a fantastic stay at Brantlea in the Bowness on Windermere, Lake District! The property was spotless, spacious, and extremely comfortable, with everything we needed for a relaxing break. The welcome pack was such a thoughtful touch and made us feel at home right away. The location is perfect just a short walk to the hustle and bustle of town, yet tucked away in a peaceful area with beautiful views and lovely walks right on the doorstep. The amenities were excellent, and we especially loved the hot tub and the charming summer house. Clear instructions made everything easy to use, and it was obvious how much care goes into keeping the property to such a high standard. If we had one suggestion, it would be to add a roof or some form of cover over the hot tub that way we could enjoy it even more often, no matter the weather. Overall, this was a wonderful stay, and we cant recommend Brantlea highly enough. Were already looking forward to returning!
Everything about Brantlea is amazing from the views from the hot tub to the shoe boxes at the front door. Absolutely everything had been thought of and we found nothing lacking. We would definitely recommend this huose. A big thankyou to Simon and Lydia for allowing us to make Brantlea our home for a week.
Wonderful property in a fantastic location for the restaurants, shops & bars of Bowness. The house was spotless on arrival, weve stayed in many properties and Brantlea was absolutely 5 stars. The welcome pack on arrival was a lovely gesture. Highly recommended, perfect for our party of 7 adults & a dog. Anyone thinking of booking this property, then do it! We were very sad to leave!
Simon, thank you for letting us use your beautiful house. Amazing views, peaceful and just perfect in every way. My 50th Birthday with the ladies was fantastic! Many thanks
Yvonne
We enjoyed a wonderful family break in Brantlea. The property was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the hot tub, the outside eating space and the panoramic view from the dining area. Would readily recommend as a lovely place to stay.
Thank you Simon, happy family memories shared and created in the most beautiful of homes.
Simon was an exceptional host. The accommodation was spotless, comfortable, and exactly as described. Simon s local recommendations enhanced our trip restaurant, and their prompt communication made everything seamless. Highly recommend staying here

A great house and location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend.
Wow, what a fabulous stay. The house and views were stunning. The kitchen was very well equipped and the living room and bedrooms were very comfortable. Simon's communication was excellent very responsive. He also left us a lovely welcome hamper which was much appreciated. Highly recommended.
This house has the wow factor. Very peaceful and beautiful location yet only a 5 minute walk into Bowness. There is path right behind the house to get onto Brant Fell which we really liked. The kitchen has literally everything you could need. A lovely welcome hamper was a nice touch too. I would definitely stay here again.
One of the best houses weve rented! The quality of finish to the rooms and interior was excellent. Everything was very clean and the facilities were well thought to make our stay as comfortable as possible and a home from home. A lovely welcome hamper made a great start to the stay and a visit from Simon the owner to show us around the house on our arrival was thoughtful. Great location as well!
Tracey
Fabulous stay friendly and helpful owner. Perfect location will definitely stay again!
We have had an amazing stay, the house was even more impressive than the pictures! The views from the hot tub are spectacular, we were in it every day. It has been the most equipped house we've stayed in, the kitchen has everything you could think of! Thank you for a perfect week away before the Christmas chaos! Also to add my sons girlfried only went and booked the house we tried and failed to buy 16 years ago! What a treat. Fantastic week.
Had an amazing weekend away at brantlea for my wifes 50th, couldnt have asked for more, the welcome basket wad unexpected but such a nice touch, the house is beautiful and nothing hasn't been thought of, stair gates and fencing helping keep two dogs contained, steep garden that leads to the hot tub, there is even a fridge and plastic glasses up there. The views from the top of the garden are breathtaking. Would highly recommend brantlea and would love to visit again in the future.
Fabulous place to stay, just what the doctor ordered Loved the view from the ... Fabulous place to stay, just what the doctor ordered Loved the view from the hot tub Credit to the owners beautifully furnished and very peaceful Only suggestion I would make is to write on the website that hot tub towels, flip flops and robes should be taken, this would enhance your visit 1010 excellent

Fantastic property, house is lovely and caters for everything you might need. We had a great weekend, great location for shops, bars, restaurants.
Lovely house, conveniently situated out of town but not too far to walk down to town, restaurants, pubs, harbour for boat trips and shops. Walks straight from the house to the high spot for fantastic panorama of lake Windermere.

We had a fabulous long weekend, helped by couple of glorious days. Superb house, very clean, very relaxing and near to everything. A lovely walk run just at the back up to Brant Fell.
Jackie
Had a fantastic stay at the beautiful Brantlea. Facilities were amazing. An excellent welcome pack with a lovely bottle of fizz. Would highly recommend the house, very spacious and immaculately clean, could not fault it in any way. Simon was a great host.
Beautiful house and the sun shone all week. What more could we ask for?
Thank you for a lovely stay. Great location, love the views. Very comfortable & well equipped house.
The house didnt disappoint and in some respects was even better than the pictures show especially the location. In a very quiet and select private close only added to the enjoyment. House was spotlessly clean and well presented. Ample room for our party of 6 to both spend time together or chill when prefer with the garden room a firm favourite. The birds eye view of fast jets navigating up the lake and beyond was a real bonus! Only real ask would be if the hot tub could be raised slightly allowing better views of the lake whilst sitting in it but icing on the cake of course! Only gripe relates to Sykes and the astronomical price increases year on year!
What a fabulous birthday weekend. Loved staying in Brantlea due to its location, facilities and general feel. Simon was great, with information about places to walk, eat, swim etc. The house suited both generations of the family, something for everyone! Thank you for the hamper and the fizz, started the celebrations off beautifully!
We had an amazing stay, house was in a great location, just 5 mins walk from the village. It has everything you need, clutter free, spotlessly clean and plenty of space for the 8 of us. Hot tub was lovely with great views. Host was helpful & very friendly and was close by if you needed anything. Would definitely book again.
Our stay here was just perfect! From the location to the house itself, and communicating with the host everything was seamless and better than we could have hoped for! We will definitely be returning!
Thank you for a lovely stay! House amazing, love the hot tub. Beds so comfortable, will be back
Lovely house, very roomy and airy and light. lovely views and everything we needed for our short holiday
Richard
A wonderful property in an ideal location to visit the lakes. A short walk from Bowness was great for visiting the local pubs, cafes and shops. The house itself was perfect for 8 adults with everything you could need and with amazing views of the lakes. Couldn't recommend Brantlea enough and hope to return there soon
Thank you!! Great house Great location Thanks for popping over and being a friendly host
Lovely home, absolutely spotless, fantastic views from the Lounge and especially the Jacuzzi and summer room area. Location also excellent, with 5 mins walk into Bowness Centre, although very steep access drive leading up to the property especially with a pram and small children Overall, excellent home & excellent stay
Thank you for another wonderful holiday at beautiful Brantlea! Everything has been perfect and spotlessly clean!

Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 6 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 12 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 13 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 16 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 19 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 25 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
