Moor End Manor Reviews

We were a family group of 12 ladies celebrating our mum's milestone birthday so wanted a house that could accommodate us all comfortably, the specification was a house with style, class and something a bit special which would cater for all our ages Moor End Manor fit the bill perfectly. The gravel driveway was big enough to fit our 7 cars and the first impressions of the house perfectly matched the interior. The lovely entrance hall, off which was the elegant drawing room and huge dining room both with open fires, we never used them as the central heating and Aga kept the house warm all weekend it also helped that we had glorious sunshine. The fully equipped kitchen had a enormous central island, large round dining table and the biggest Aga I have ever seen, Belfast sinks and an American sized fridge freezer with ice making facility. Both the kitchen and dining rooms had bifold doors that opened onto a gravel courtyard with pubstyle benches, which lead seamlessly into the 'Black Swan' pub. The Black Swan had everything you could wish for, pool table, boxed games, large tv, sound system, genuine bar area, all we needed was the alcohol to furnish it with. It also provided a fantastic evening room for drinking and celebrating, we held a casino night in the pub using an external company which proved a big hit. Off the bar area was an undercover lounging area with plenty of cushioned seats, looking out onto a well kept lawn. Wander down the lawned area to a pond with it's very own Black Swan, which the girls named Doris for the weekend! The hot tub was located at the side of the house with another lovely seating area which proved to be a great suntrap. The side door into the house led to a utility room with a shower and toilet, perfect for showering before you got into the hottub. The bedrooms were light an airy, 3 of which were ensuite, but for those that weren't there were 3 other bathrooms available to use. We never had to call the owners for any issues but I was given full contact to them for anything that may have occurred. Most importantly my mum felt like she had been treated like a queen the whole weekend so a big thank you to Moor End Manor for providing a perfect venue for such a special occasion, one of our party is now looking to book it again for another event. Highly recommended.
Moor End Manor is a fabulous house with an abundance of space and facilities. We were a family of 16 8 adults and 6 children aged 812 years celebrating a 75th birthday. We were all blown away by the accommodation after stepping through the front door. Very clean and spacious rooms, and great outdoor space to relax. The children loved the Black Swan pub, playing pool or watching films on the TV. The kitchen was equipped with everything you need. Great location to visit Lytham St.Annes, Blackpool or the Lakes. Cannot think of any negative comments. Would strongly recommend.
Really beautiful house and gardens, everything we needed for a brilliant family gathering. We would definitely come back again. Hosts were really responsive to questions and very kind!
We were very impressed with the house, the hosts and the lengths that were taken to make our stay perfect. Nothing was to much trouble. Everything was exceptionally clean. I would recommend this to any family that would like to spend time together.
Zachary
Stunning property with a range of different bedroom layouts to suit any group of people. Both the kids and the adults had things to do. The contact for the property was super responsive for anything we needed and made us feel at ease! Definitely will be looking at going again in summer.
Andrew
Absolutely fantastic place. We all loved our time. The hosts were excellent and were very helpful and friendly
Darren
We booked for Christmas 25, for 14 of us. Quite simply this is a wow property. Great rooms, great showers, comfy beds, fab hot tub, brilliant swan pub with pool table, huge kitchen and an owner that simply cares and is incredibly helpful even for the smallest request. Would highly recommend this to anyone. We will return.
First impression of this beautiful house a real WOW. We all thought the pictures on the website did not do it justice. We were a family group of 13 from baby to grandparents celebrating Christmas early. The bedrooms were very comfortable the space perfect and the dining room had an amazing decorated Christmas tree in place. So we didnt need to take our own! The Black Swan pub was a great entertainment space pool table and games provided fridge for your own drinks. Things we wish we had known the towels were small and worn so take your own if you are used to large fluffy towels and all want to use the hot tub as only 4 hot tub towels were provided! The kitchen is poorly equipped for catering for a group our size. Only 2 small saucepans, no oven gloves provided or enough tea towels. The hosts were very attentive and helpful with issues that arose during our stay as some of the showers were loose on the wall, the main bathroom radiator did not work, and the dishwasher was not effective even after we cleaned the filter and water sprays which were clogged up. Overall a fantastic space for a multigenerational group.
We had a great time at this property. It was very comfortable and warm, with lots of space. The weather wasn't kind to us, so did not use the outside facilities. We enjoyed the wine and treats in the welcome pack. I would recommend this property for any age group.
Alison
Absolutely fantastic trip away with the family everything was perfect ! We were a party of x10 adults and x3 children and Moor End Manor was the perfect choice . The decor is out of this world with every room beautifully designed The house was immaculate and clean with everything you need , such a great party house as we were celebrating an 80th Birthday. Having the hot tub , own private garden and pub made it so much fun for all the family . The location is great with so many pubs restaurants, shops on the doorstep and easy access to visit Blackpool and surrounding area. Hosts Stephen & John were so friendly , nothing was too much trouble leaving a welcome pack of couple of bottles of wine , crisps and biscuits was such a lovely touch . I would highly recommend this gorgeous house and will definitely return!
Jennifer
Had a fabulous weekend stay to celebrate my birthday with family and friends. The house is gorgeous and having use if the Black Swan pub just made it all the more special.
Louise
The house was amazing, some of the pictures actually do not do it justice. Well worth the stay and excellent all round service. Can not recommend the house enough was perfect for the friends get away!
Honestly cant thank you enough for having us, the house is absolutely stunning and we all had such an amazing time
This house is stunning set in beautiful surroundings. All the bedrooms are decorated and dressed with impeccable taste. It's very spacious both inside and out lots of different spaces for conversation eating and relaxation. The detached pub is the icing on the cake. It has everything needed including music centre and disco lights. Amazing!
Adrian
The property was amazing and we all had a fantastic time. The property was furnisheddecorated to a high standard and there was plenty of space for everyone at full occupancy. The pub room was a fantastic feature and entertaining space kitted out fully! Garden was also landscaped beautifully with plenty of lounge space and a hot tub. Was the perfect place to have our friends Hen do. Thanks!
Our stay at the manor was incredible. The photos and advert do not do this place justice and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Steve was an incredible host and replied so quickly to every question we had and let us check in slightly earlier. We went for my cousins hen do, had a slip and slide in the garden and played games and hosted bongos bingo with a live singer and nothing was too much fuss. Feeding Gary the swan was also great and a lovely addition. The outdoor pub was phenomenal too. Thanks so much Steve I would definitely book here again.
Heather
We had such a fab stay at Moor End Manor! ! The house is huge and had everything we could need. Would definitely recommend!
Danielle
We stayed two nights for a hen party and the property was perfect! Everyone loved it and it was very impressive. Plenty of space and we had everything we needed. The owners were lovely and immediately available if we needed them.

Moor End Manor is a beautiful house in pleasant surroundings, seating. and beds very comfortable and lots of crockerycutlery and utensils. in kitchen. Family made good use of the pool table and hot tub when possible despite the poor weather at end of May. John was very welcoming and friendly on our arrival and always quickly replied to any queries, in fact John and Stephen went above and beyond when we had an unexpected problem with the electrics and got it sorted very quickly Many thanks.
Charlotte
Generally the property was lovely, especially the garden area. However, as a house to sleep up to 14 people, when it came to looking for a baking sheet or any type of oven tray suitable for pizzas we couldnt find anything. House was fairly clean on arrival but not what you would expect for a property of the price we paid. Our biggest gripe was unfortunately the smell. One area of the house and outside that end of the house had a horrible smell of sewage, seemed to get worse in evenings. Got to the point we could no longer use the hot tub as the smell was bad around that. The worst area was around the bath in the main bedroom, it smelt like it was coming up out of the bath, it got so bad we couldnt bear to be in that room on the final evening. Brought it up with property owner but they said no issue and it was likely a local farmer spreading muck, however half of our group are farmers so we know the distinct difference between human waste and farm animal muck. Thankfully the weather was lovely so we could spend a lot of our time in the garden and the pub which were areas that were smell free!
Booked here for my sisters 40th just us girls. It was amazing. The place provides things above and beyond not a thing missed. Unreal home beautiful surroundings. Everyone of us genuinely couldnt believe how perfect the place is. We tried to book again whilst there but it was already booked not a bit shocked . Already sent web site on to friends. Would highly recommend. The owner who met us on arrival was so welcoming and was always there if we text. Loved it xx
Samantha
Absolutely amazing property, and beautiful facilities. Would definitely go back and recommend!
Great property

We stayed at Moor End Manor for a long weekend with a group of 10 adults and 2 babies. Everything was excellent and there was so much space so we didn't feel like we were on top of eachother. We especially enjoyed the hot tub and the pub! The only slightly negative thing is that the towels in the rooms are pretty small. We brought our own towels so it wasn't too bad for us. But would recommend taking bigger towels with you, especially for the hot tub. We will definitely be coming back in the future!
Michelle
Wow what a beautiful place. Me and my friends stayed for our annual girls trip away and the place did not disappoint. The pub was a great feature and we did enjoy ourselves a little too much the first night. The rest of the weekend it was very chilled and cozy and the house did not disappoint. The hot tub was a lovely feature and we had some great weather on the Saturday, so it was a little sun trap. John and Steve were great hosts and very responsive to all our needs and messages. Will definitely be returning later in the year
Rachelle
Amazing place , everything we needed was there . Beautiful stay . We will be coming back !
This property is absolutely stunning. 12 of us stayed to celebrate my sisters 50th birthday and it was perfect. The layout and comfort was ideal for us all and the pub was great for fun and entertainment. Would definitely recommend
Andrew
Moor End Manor is a beautiful holiday home. We had a fantastic family gathering for my brothers 50th birthday, which was a surprise celebration. The owner, John was a great help with keeping it a surprise and was very welcoming. We would definitely recommend this and would most definitely love to revisit in the future.
I booked Moor End Manor for a family get together for my 60th birthday. The house was very spacious and decorated to a high standard and had everything we could have possibly needed. The Black Swan pub in the garden was the icing on the cake and a great social space. The Black Swan did wander up to the fence occasionally, the grandkids loved feeding it. The weather wasnt great, which we expected for that time of year, so we couldnt enjoy the outside space as we would have liked to but the hot tub was very much enjoyed by some of our party. Plenty of oven space in the aga and it kept the kitchen nice and warm. The bedrooms were nice and spacious and well equipped. The property exceeded our expectations and we are looking for an excuse to go back again. If you book this property, you will not be disappointed. We certainly werent.
Antonia
Has an incredible stay here with our group of girls! The house was very clean, spacious and the facilities were amazing. We would HIGHLY recommend this house if you had any doubts booking it. Thank you John, you were a great host
Philip
AMAZING We stayed FridayMonday, and wasn't long enough wished we had booked a week. I felt like I was in Downton Abbey it is beautiful. We were a family of 8 adults and 3 children, we all loved it. When we arrived John the owner showed us around and explained everything to us. They also left a lovely welcome hamper. The house, pub and grounds are amazing, cannot fault anything, my advice is just book it. We all want to go again. Thankyou so much John & Stephen for letting us stay in your beautiful property. Tracy, Phil and family from Warrington.
The property was amazing. Everything I needed for the family to celebrate my 50th birthday. The owners were amazing and helped with everything straight away. I could write everything brilliant but definitely I give it 100 out of 10. We all absolutely loved it... and yes that's a 100 out of 10...
We have just returned from our holiday at Moor End Manor. What a fantastic property and grounds! The house is beautiful, well laid and decorated to the highest standards! The grounds and gardens are gorgeous and the pub is the icing on the cake! Couldn't ask for anything more! Both owners were responsive and communicated very well. I highly recommend a visit here and will definitely return!
10 of us have just returned from a wonderful weekend stay at this property. The House is absolutely fantastic and the outside area is one of the best we have seen and we have stayed in a cottage every year for the last 15 years. The 'pub' is a wonderful touch, the outside area by the hot tub is just brilliant! Lots of chairs sun loungers allowing friends to sit and relax whilst others are in the hot tub so we could all be together. Another lovely seating area is vast and covered allowing us another outside area to all sit together, perfect for our morning cuppa in the sunshine! The 6 bedrooms were comfortable and decorated beautifully. The living room was great and cozy to all sit together too. Daily visits from the lovely ducks was a highlight! We believe this was the best we had stayed in yet and would take a lot to beat! The owners left us a beautiful welcome pack with fizz, red wine, crisps and cookies. Always a lovely touch. The kitchen is well equipped and had all necessary kitchen basics, even cooking oil, salt and pepper, washing up liquid etc My only suggestion would be if they could provide some plastic glasses for the hot tub and surrounding area save taking glass outside. We have some amazing photos and so many friends are asking us Where did you stay?
Ashleigh
Our weekend away at Moor End Manor was pure perfection! The moment we pulled into the house grounds, we felt like we had stepped into a film. We were greeted and given a guided tour of the house. The black swan pub was amazing and we spent a lot of time on an evening gathered in the pub. After settling in and unpacking, we sat in the grounds with a cuppa to take in how amazing the house was it was a huge pinch me moment! We will definitely be back to celebrate further events here!
Angela
We came here as a family of 14, 8 adults and 6 children to celebrate our Ruby wedding anniversary. Moor End Manor was perfect, well equipped and very spacious. The Black Swan pub was amazing lots of games to play for both adults and children and again well equipped. The grounds of the property are spacious and well maintained lots of different areas to relax and enjoy the hot tub and hammocks. The black swan and ducks at the bottom of the garden were a big hit with the children they loved going to see them each morning. As a family we all thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend it.
Michelle
Family of 13 had a lovely week. House was amazing had everything you needed in a lovely location. Owners were very friendly and on hand if needed. Would highly recommend.
Kayleigh
Just spent the weekend at Moor End Manor ! We didnt want to leave! we were a party of 10 adults and 4 children. Everything we needed and more hot tub, pool table, bar, garden games, bbq, hammocks, pond with ducklings! Owners John & Steve were absolutely lovely to deal with too had a lovely welcome pack on arrival we cant wait to book again we wish we had booked to stay for longer.
We spent 5 nights 2 families and had a wonderful stay. The owner replied quickly to a couple of queries we had before arrival and then met us for check in. The house had everything we needed and we settled in very quickly. The pub is a huge feature which we used regularly as the EURO and Wimbledon finals were on! Amazing rooms with fantastic furnishings and beds comfy. The weather was great so we used the extensive outdoor seating areas and the bbq twice. Thank you to John and Steve for being great hosts.
