We had a lovely stay and honestly couldnt fault anything! The lodge was beautifully furnished and comfortable, the surroundings were so peaceful and we had everything we needed. We ordered a food hamper for our stay and it was superb, the homemade food was delicious and we had plenty to keep us going for the whole weekend! Thank you so much!
Had a lovely time in our Shepherds Rigg, very comfortable and cozy, Peaceful location and a nice view of the lake, the Hot Tub was a fabulous edition, and the welcome Shepherd's pie and Prosecco went down a treat, would definitely recommend.
This was a fantastic weekend getaway a lovely property with incredibly friendly hosts, in a beautiful location that had been made to feel like a proper home from home. I came here on a recommendation and will certainly be recommending it myself in future. The hot tub and woodfire made the trip feel extra special, and the shepherd's pie and fizz was a lovely delicious! touch. The site itself is incredibly scenic and a really great spot if you're looking to get away from it all, as we were. We were also lucky enough to meet the owners in the local pub that evening, who were very welcoming. Thanks so much for having us!
Me and my boyfriend stayed this week and what a pleasure it has been. A beautiful private location , perfect to explore many beautiful parts of the Lake District . The cabin was stunning inside and out. Clean , well kept & had all the facilities you need for a short break . The Hottub was amazing with amazing views out onto the lake day and night . Dave was lovely and very helpful , came to check we was happy with the cabin and if there was anything we needed . Would highly recommend!
We really enjoyed our mini break after the christmas period. The Shepherds Delight hut for us was great for us to spend time together along with the dogs. We where welocmed on arrival with extra dog towels and bedding for them, and also treated with a Shepherds pie each for dinner and a bottle of
Gorgeous place, very cosy and clean. Really lovely touch with the shepherd pie on arrival. We will defo be returning. Thank you for the great break.
Amazing, absolutely amazing. The hut, hot tub, view, food. Just amazing! Will definitely be back
We had the best time and we will definitely be coming back.

Excellent holiday property and fabulous break. Everything clean, tidy, beautifully presented. Warm and toastie inside. Owners were very helpful with initial queries we had prior to our visit, and prompt to respond to a query we had on our first day. We felt welcome even before we had arrived. Hot tub great and maintained its temperature. Despite the frost, ice, rain and blustery winds outside, this was a stable hut which had all the facilities we could need in the well thought out space. Would visit again and would highly recommend

We had no hot water for 2 days but other than that it was immaculate and we loved it! Wish we stayed for the 3 days which was the same price
The retreat was beautiful clean the only complaint Ryan had was that he ... The retreat was beautiful clean the only complaint Ryan had was that he couldnt fish on the lake as wasnt well stocked we would definitely come back though
Absolutely gorgeous! Had a lovely time here, with beautiful views and the accommodation was a home from home!
Perfect short break with everything needed for our stay. Very relaxing. Thank you
Very helpful and attentive hosts, resulting in a lovely relaxing break. No complaints from them that we had a nine stone Rottie in tow. Would highly recommend.
The hut is cosy, we had a lovely stay and it's nice and secluded but some of the images on the listing are not accurate and are obviously from a while ago. There was no ice bucket for the hot tub and the sun lounger chairs shown on the decking area were lying on the grass in front of the hut covered in mud. I have however recommended the place to friends and family so certainly not put off at all.
Gorgeous location and amazing accomodation, would highly recommend and will be back in the future
Absolutely beautiful secluded lodge. Everything was perfect. We ordered a vegetarian food hamper for 2 days and it was more than enough food. The meals were delicious and homemade, locally sourced produce and cooking instructions. Our dog absolutely loved her little break too. Claire and Dean are so lovely, and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you so much, we will be back.

We really enjoyed our couple of nights away. We were away for our Birthday and took our wee dog with us. Cabin was decorated really nicely and had everything we needed already there. Bed was super comfy and we had a great sleep. Nice touch with our gift of a bottle of fizz and two pies which were so tasty! Thank you! The weather wasnt great while we were there but we still had a nice relaxing time and the nature around us was so nice, even spotted a bat and an owl at night! The only thing I would detail is that I wouldnt class it as dog friendly only because the area isnt closed off for the dog to be let off the lead to run around freely! Other than that the space is looked after, nice big area to wander around and the wee pond with the ducks and babies was so nice to wake up to.

We had an amazing stay everyone was so nice and the lodge was so peacefull and ... We had an amazing stay everyone was so nice and the lodge was so peacefull and comfy what a lovely little lodge would definately recommend going here
Lauren
Me and my partner had a lovely stay here the grounds are so beautiful and quiet. The lodge is so cosy and has everything you could need, the outside area is equipped with everything listed. We couldnt have enjoyed our stay more and we are already planning our next visit ! the homemade Shepards pie were delicious!
Brenda
The property is in a lovely position, its was clean and well kept. The hot tub was great . The area around was beautiful lovely walks for us and our dog especially Talig Tarn country park. The only down was the weather although it did not rain during the day to spoil walks it was cold and windy, nothing anyone can do about that but the hot tub warmed us up.
Very quite and private which we loved, the hot tub was great and would have used more weather permitting. The photo on the Web page looks different as an older picture taken a long time ago,we found the lodge was very dark and if the sun had been around we wouldn't have seen much as the trees are over grown, think the trees need s bit of a trim back, but we enjoyed the stay
Amanda
Absolutely loved our stay, we would recommend Shepherds Delight to anyone looking for either a romantic getaway or a base to explore the beautiful countryside. Our Hosts were wonderful and nothing was to much trouble. Had the hamper and like previous comments feeds you for more than 2 days, lovely welcome pie which was the icing on the cake. Will be back
Great accommodations and locations. Would return and recommend
Lovely place! The location was perfect, secluded but not too far from things to do. The cabin was clean, with everything provided that you might need. Bathroom is small, but that was not a problem. The hot tub was clean and the fairy lights are a lovely touch.
Lovely quiet relaxing break just what we needed everything you needed had been thought about and supplied would definitely recommend staying here.

We stayed at high rigg shepherd's delight for a week was a lovely relaxing get away. The hut is very cosy and absolutely loved the logburner. The owner of the properties was very friendly and more than accommodating. There's a few beautiful trails and waterfalls to see a drive away followed by coming back to a peaceful soak in the hot tub and sitting by the fire pit outside. Overall the place is beautiful and peaceful definitely a nice place to relax. 1010 thank you
What can I say. . from the moment we arrived I felt instantly relaxed. We was welcomed with a bottle of fizz and homemade food. Also decorated for us as this was our honeymoon. This extra touch made it so special. The views are to die for. The hut itself is beautiful, it was spotless and has everything you need. The 2 day hamper is amazing and lasted us about 3 days atleast. Log burner was more than enough to keep you warm. Hot tub was gorgeous also. We took our two small dogs and they loved it. Only thing would of helped would be the balcony had little gates to block of so we can keep let them out not worrying they would run of on the grounds, but this is not a massive thing as I do not want to put anything negative about high rigg. I really did not want to come home. We will definitely be back in the summer to try another cabin. Thank you so much for everything
Sophia
I had a wonderful stay at High Rigg, Shepherd's Delight. Very nice owners and the shepherd's pie and bottle of fizz was a lovely touch! Thank you so much

Rebecca
We had a wonderful holiday in the Shepherds delight thank you! We were very sad to leave and will very much miss watching the sun setrise in the hot tub. The hut was so well presented and furnished. The fizz and shepherd pies were very much enjoyed! Wonderful location easy access to the lakes, Hadrian's wall and kielder water as well as some fantastic local pubs Duke of Cumberland and String of horses! We will be back
Stefan
Beautiful place nice an quiet lived up to my expectations
Lauren
Will definitely be back, I loved our anniversary stay here.
Great few days away in the shepherds delight hutt, had everything we needed for a relaxing break, spotlessly clean aswell, the complementary shepherds pies were lovely, hot tub was ace, view was beautiful, we will definitely be going back at some point.
The shepherd's delight was as the name suggests an absolute delight. Perfectly equipped for a long relaxing weekend away. Beautiful surroundings, lovely and clean on arrival, and big soft fluffy towels and robes for when using the amazing hot tub. Thoughtful touches with the home made shepherd's pie and bottle of very nice pink fizz. All in all, a very relaxing break. We would definitely recommend to friends and family.
We stayed at the Shepherd Delight cabin from 26th to the 29th October and it was the best glamping experience weve had. The facilities were amazing and the hot tub was perfect. We will definitely be coming back! Hopefully sooner rather than later!
The cottage was fantastic, the owner was friendly all together no complaints looking forward to booking again in the future.
Beautiful hut, near small lake, decorated beautifully. Clean and homely. Shepherds pie that was made was very nice. Lovely breakaway weekend, for our first holiday away together.
Sharon
A very peaceful relaxing place . Will definitely be back

Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 7 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre - NE48 1BT
about 22 Miles
Housing the most fascinating collection of Birds of Prey in the North East this centre is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the Kielder Water area. Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples.  As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there.  Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 23 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 24 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
