On warmer days, why not fire up the barbecue in the rear, enclosed yard, where your canine companions can run and play? After dinner, climb the stairs up to the first floor sitting room, where you can sink into the plush sofas and select a family favourite from the TV, or challenge your loved ones to a game on the Xbox or Nintendo Wii.

There is also an alluring woodburning stove, sure to be your pooch’s favourite spot! After a day on the beach, wash off sandy toes with a refreshing shower, or treat tired muscles to a soak in the bath after hiking through the moors.

On the first-floor, you will discover three well-appointed bedrooms, two king-size and a family room with king-size and a single, whilst the second-floor offers a twin with two pull-out beds and an additional family room with double and single. Right on your doorstep, you will find a wealth of shops, pubs and restaurants, including sampling fresh seafood at the Marisco Lounge or traditional pub grub at The Scarborough Arms.

The thriving town offers something for everyone, with the historic delights of Scarborough Castle and the Rotunda Museum for history buffs, the scenic walking trails of the Cleveland Way and Cinder Track for keen walkers and cyclists or the fun-filled amusements of Luna Park and Alpamare for family days out. Other attractions within the town include the popular Scarborough Open Air Theatre, the Scarborough North Bay Railway, the picturesque Peasholm Park and the excellent Scarborough North Cliff Golf Club.

Castle View Reviews

Natalie
Great house for a large family with everything we needed. Central location. The bed we stayed in was really comfortable. The living room is a beautiful big room with enough space for everyone. The shower on the middle floor wasn't working. It wasn't a problem with two others but I am commenting to make the hosts aware. Some general maintenance needed in places. Overall met our needs really well.
Alison
The house was perfect for our large party. It exceeded our expectations. We had read previous reviews and had noted some negative comments so had thought things might seem tired and worn. It was quite the opposite, a beautiful house which was very well resourced. A couple of minor issues we had were dealt with immediately. We appreciated the welcome pack. Thank you very much.
Castle View was fabulous, beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. It was perfect for our weekend stay in Scarborough

The dryer did not work. some of the door handles were too near the edge of the door to be comfortable . Not enough toilet rolls were provided. good location we had 5 cars but were only given two free parking permits living room comfortable, dining room good Kitchen well equipped Not enough soap in bathrooms beds very comfortable
The property is spacious and well presented. The kitchen was very well equipped and the lounge was comfortable. Location is excellent and parking wasn't an issue. The biggest issue for us was the top two bedrooms. These were far from the standard of the rest of the house. They are too small for adults to move and stay comfortably as the roof restrictions make it difficult. There was little space to stand, even for shorter adults. The stairs up were perilously steep and the rooms were not well presented at all. Both rooms lacked any of the touches seen on the lower floors and access to the shower room was ridiculous because it was so small. They felt like an after thought compared to the rest of the house. 3 guests who used those rooms were not particularly happy. We planned a family BBQ during our stay as the description says there is a secure garden. There is no garden, no grass, nowhere to sit outside, just an enclosed yard that is big enough to let a dog out briefly. Suffice to say we changed plans! The house next door is being converted into a HMO so currently there is a lot of associated building noise. It's not too bad during the day, but during our stay they started about 7am and woke up the entire house. We called the local contact and she had a word with them and the start time was later for the last day we were there. Some advance notice that builders were there would have been helpful. It seems they've been there a while and will be there a while longer. This is a great holiday house up to the second floor, located centrally to the town centre and the sea front is walking distance. A great base for a family holiday.
What a lovely place to stay in! ! We booked the property for a long weekend with family and it was perfect. It all makes for a very sociable place and suited our needs exactly!! The location made everything accessible and the inside of the house was of such a high standard. We loved it and will definitely be returning.

I meant to say the problem with the fridge wasnt resolved it still made a lot of noise and no ice. Not a problem for us but you may want to get it looked at. Thankyou the pictures dont do the house justice
We were sorry it was so short we had such a lovely time. Family meet up of 3 generations all enjoyed this lovely home. The Welcome pack was unexpected & was a lovely gesture. We were worried about the parking as we had brought 2 cars, but had no difficulty finding spaces. Thank you for sharing your lovely home. Linda Neill
We had a lovely stay and the house fulfilled our needs perfectly from the very well equipped kitchen to all of the other facilities. However, I had cause to contact the landline number on the Wednesday, and I also used the mobile used by Natalie? to ring me on the 11th August when we were on our way. I left a message on both numbers, and never received a reply. Luckily, it wasn't urgent and we figured the problem out. If it had have been urgent, we would have felt a bit stuck, to be honest. Can I suggest that you check your answer phone messages, or at least make sure that the numbers are correct? Other than that, we had a lovely stay. The welcome pack was a lovely touch

Had a good time. Accomodation had all we needed.
Absolutely beautiful house full of character so much room for the 13 of us. The facilities were amazing made breakfast we all sat round the table plenty of the basics , glasses, plates cups, towels, goodies on arrival. In a brilliant location as we had booked to see a tribute act at the Scarborough spa, loads of lovely pubs on the way. The beach and the front is really nicely kept fantastic stay and we will be back. Lovely little fish shop round the corner called small fry, we didnt want for nothing.. 1010 fantastic stay x
Lovely weekend stay everyone enjoyed very close to the town and lovely walks to the beach. Didnt have any hot water for the first night but was fixed the Saturday from maintenance Natalie Would definitely recommend and return to Scarborough in the near future
Property was perfect for our needs and a lovely place to stay. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again. Thank you so much.
A lovely, comfortable property in a great central location to explore everything that Scarborough has to offer. Plenty of room to accommodate 10 adults. A big Christmas Tree in the lounge was a lovely touch as was the welcome pack. We have already booked again for this year

3rd stay at this lovely property. Centrally located . The property itself has everything we needed and more . Not recommended for disabled or infirm as lots of stairs . We obviously love the place as 3 stays says it all

We have recently returned from a 3 night stay at castle view as a group of 12. The house is very clean, comfortable, spacious and very well equipped! The location is spot on and everything can be accessed on foot which is great. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch and we will definitely be booking again!
The house was fantastic for a large group, access to town was great. Previous reviews regarding neighbours were a little daunting at first but we found these reviews to be inaccurate during our stay. The welcome pack was gratefully received and the children loved the icecube machine! Parking was easy.
Although the listing was accurate, with hindsight there is a glaring lack of information about the location of the property, It is in an area of multiple HMO's, most other properties appear to be converted to flats. The house next door had 6 brokenboarded up windows and was occupied by the local drunks. As a result there was fighting, shouting, banging and loud music. The house directly opposite was not much better. The pavement outside was littered with broken glass empty beer cans and condoms. Whilst the property was excellent the area is certainly not conducive for a family holiday which involves children. I would certainly not recommend this property nor Sykes assuming they are aware of the shortcomings of the area.
Stacey
The property was absolutely fantastic and house a large family of 14 very comfortably. We had an amazing time in the property and feel the facilities were brilliant. The host was fantastic resolved any queries very quickly. The house is unfortunately in a quite run down area which is slightly off putting but the property itself is great.
