Nordic Spa at Lock View Reviews

The house was perfect for our stay. The rooms are tastefully decorated. The hosts were very helpful and accommodating. The facilities were excellent. Highly recommend.

First I have to say we enjoyed our stay at Lock View, the beds are super comfy and the saunahot tubchill tub were a great addition, and the locatoin was really good. A couple of things could have been better, first the directions to the house, great until you get to the culdesac, luckily we'd looked on StreetView and realised we had to cut through the houses, otherwise we wouldn't have seen the little gap! When we arrived we had an issue with the downstairs bathroom toilet, the flush button popped off and needed fixing luckily I have a handy husband!, the handles on the cupboard in that bathroom are very damaged I suspect cleaning has taken the coating off. We weren't sure when the heating was due to come on in the evening, it hadn't come on by 5.30pm so we just advanced on the timer. It would be useful to have more instructions in the welcome pack. But these are only minor issues that could easily be fixed, overally we had a lovely time.

What an amazing property. Luxury furnishing and fixtures in a wonderful location overlooking the canal from the upstairs windows. Garden is small but secure which was a relief to us as we have a nervous dog. Lovely of the hosts to leave wine, chocolates and milk. There was also tea and coffee, kitchen roll and oil but we took and used our own. Kitchen is well stocked with utensils and pots and pans. Very clean. Hot tub and sauna were a lovely bonus for a dog property. Village is beautiful. Lovely curry at the Indian and a friendly welcome at the Masons Arms across the river. Well worth the extra steps. Large portions of excellent home cooked food. All of the staff were friendly and chatty. A real old fashioned pub. I would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting a central base for exploring the beautiful Dales.
What a beautiful property ! There is nothing not to like .. location, decor, amenities and customer service.. just amazing
Great property and location. Enjoyed the hot tub and chill tub . Sauna didnt get warm enough but personal preference. Very comfy beds, well equipped kitchen. Nice views from lounge. Easy to get to local attractions. Only slight downsides were some greasy trays and bin on arrival, outside lighting not working around parking, mossy entrance slabs slippy in wet and microwave needs replacing. Minor things which didnt reduce our rating.

Lovely property in a good location. Dog walk from the door on the canal towpath. Very clean and well appointed
Darren
From the prearrival communication to the friendly welcome from Kyle everything was brilliant. The place was really clean and very comfortable. The facilities were amazing, hot tub, chill tub, sauna, this place has it all. The dog never got his head around the glass floor in the upstairs lounge, even after seven days, tentatively walking around the edge as though he thought he could fall down into the kitchen
Cheryl
Beautiful holiday home with a beautiful view, it had everything you need for your stay would highly recommend it . Beds were very comfortable and bathrooms were great, Hottub and sauna were great though didnt try the the plunge tank too old
One of the best holiday homes we have stayed in. Exceptional comfort and cleanliness, great location and super peaceful.. but near everything you need.
Cottage was very well maintained and had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable and linen of a good quality. Robes were a nice bonus. We made good use of the hot tub, sauna and chill pool. Cottage is in a great location within an easy walk of the village. Had a lovely stay
Dianne

Beautiful peaceful location. We really enjoyed walking the dog along canal and watching the narrow boats. Lovely chip shop and coop within a few minutes walk. Hot tub and sauna were a huge hit and the chill tub gave us a few laughs!! This house is comfortable and well equipped with everything you need. The glass floor in the living room is a nice feature which the kids enjoyed seeing us in the kitchen. We would definitely stay here again.

A lovely location would recommend
Very good Xmas stay. Clean and tidy accommodation. Loved the hottub and sauna. Good size bedrooms. A little bit more compact than I thought as the main picture is actually 2 properties but plenty big enough for 4 and dog. Good location. Village gas good pubs and excellent fish shop. Would recommend
This was our 2nd stay at this property and it was a pleasure. High standards in every way.

Nicola
Had a really good stay at Lock View . Great house to stay in .
We had a lovely week, 2 adults and my daughters 11&13 and our dog. Plenty to do in the area and we loved watching the boats go through the lock! House spotlessly clean and well looked after and we will definitely return. Thank you!
Stayed with another couple, no 5 Lock View was a fabulous cottage with all we could have wanted. A beautiful view from the loungeupstairs bedroom across the canal and rolling countryside, so peaceful. We walked to Skipton along the canal path at a leisurely pace in around 1 hour 40. The taxi back was about 15 though there are also buses and a train service. Gargrave village itself has a lot to offer and we enjoyed our meals at both Bollywood Indian and Mason's Arms, also enjoying drinks in the beer garden at the Old Swan. We hadn't booked to eat at either place and were lucky to be fitted in so would recommend booking to be sure. Our hosts were very responsive an helpful.
Pamela
A delightful property, with every amenity you could need. It couldn't be cleaner and was very comfortable. We stayed for a week and the hottub and sauna were cleaned during our stay. We were 4 adults and 1 dog. The location is perfect with stunning views over the canal and countryside but a short stroll to the village centre with several pubs, shops and eateries. The only point to note for dog owners is that the garden has no grass, so no wee opportunities in the garden, but with the canal bank just outside its not much of an issue to take your dog out. Our dog loved lying by the Juliet balcony upstairs watching everyone walking along the towpath.
The beds were super comfy , sky tv was a bonus. , the hot tub was fun , the bath with a view was fun . The owners were very responsive and helpful . Downstairs the wi fi and tv reception for ITV were not as good , but that was Fine as my son moved his ps4 upstairs .
Such a lovely place we really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be returning, a short drive away from Skipton and Grassington the canal is a lovely walk too. Beds were very comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. There are a couple of pubs serving food a short walk into Gargrave.
Great location right next to the canal with excellent facilities. Would wholeheartedly recommend this place.
We had a lovely break away and enjoyed the hot tub. Owner was very friendly and only happy to help and lock view is in a beautiful position for canal plenty of nature and boats and village had more than you needed.

A lovely property in a beautiful location. We had a fantastic stay and the property provided everything we needed. We definitely made the most of the hot tub, sauna and village pubs. Great location, just under 2hrs walk along the canal into Skipton and with other great walks on your doorstep. We also visited Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, just over half an hours drive away and Malham only 20 minutes drive away. Would recommend The Masons Arms pub for Sunday roast!
Alison
Just returned from a 3 night stay at the cottage. We both had a fantastic time , great location , beautiful views. The cottage was very clean, had everything we needed. The hot was fabulous in the snow and added that little bit of luxury to our stay. Gorgeous clean , comfortable cottage , with huge beds , incredable deep baths , all amenities nothing was left out , will definitely be back and will recommend this place to friends
Loved our stay at Lock View. Beautiful house, in an ideal location, that has everything you need for a relaxing few days away. We will definitely be booking up again in the future.
Were a family of 3 2 adults & 1 child, age 10. The location and facilities of this property are just what the Dr ordered!. Weve walked & explored the wider areas and eaten in the village every evening, somewhere different each time and all exceptional glad we found The Masons Arms. The hot tub and sauna were wonderful. The maintenance of the property is generally very good, although theres a few small things that need a bit of attention before they tire further and to ensure the luxurious feel is maintained. Thank you for our stay, we would definitely return.
Catherine
Fantastic property in a brilliant location. Owners very helpful and friendly. Will definitely be visiting again.
Darren
What a lovely stay, the house is fantastic, very clean, it is very well ... What a lovely stay, the house is fantastic, very clean, it is very well equipped, it has a fantastic living room furnished with high end furniture throughout the house, the hot tub is fantastic, we used it every day
I think this may be a policy of Sykes but there were too many 'negatives' in the information book. The notes weren't so much about guests' enjoyment as rules about what you shouldn't do and the leaving arrangements! This was our first booking with Sykes.
Everything went smoothly from the pickup of the key through to the end of our stay. The location is wonderful and we had a great time.
Stephen
Excellent accommodation with even most of the little things provided. There was even a coffee pod machine and pods! Only very minor point was the ground floor ensuite has no holder for the toilet roll. Will certainly return another time.
Richard
Very nicely done out and well appointed place. Close to plenty of attractions and local pubs and shops. Would stay again.
Elizabeth

Adrian

There is also a cafe and indoor play area for when the weather is not on your side.
