Resting amidst the Pennines in Silkstone, South Yorkshire is this charming, detached cottage of The Cottage. The Cottage accommodates a family of five and is steeped in history; it was once an Old Tommy Shop, and now makes for a home-from-home that is packed with character.
The property offers an off-road parking space and further on-street parking, however, if you don't drive then you're still in luck, as a train station can be found moments away. Progress inside to come across a hallway sporting original stone flooring, where you can leave your belongings before wandering into one of the living areas.
The first of these comprises a delightful sitting room, where oak flooring, exposed beams and brickwork give the space a touch of character; grab a seat on one of the plush sofas, throw some logs into the woodburning stove and switch on the Smart TV to enjoy an evening of relaxation. Continue to the farmhouse kitchen, where pale blue cabinetry beholds a range of quality appliances, from a slimline dishwasher to an electric range cooker; the chef of the group will have a ball whipping up culinary delights here!
When these treats are ready, bring them through to the dining room, where you can enjoy a meal accompanied by your favourite tipple. As the day comes to an end, make your way upstairs to find three tastefully furnished bedrooms, two of which offer doubles and Smart TVs, and the latter featuring a single bed.
Completing the property's interior is a shower room, where you can freshen up before wandering out to explore your surroundings. To the rear of the property is an enclosed patio, where you can enjoy alfresco breakfasts on sunny mornings, or dinners under the stars as the outdoor woodburner warms you up.
