Colwell is a tranquil and friendly neighbourhood with a couple of shops and pubs within easy reach (0.5 miles). Head down to the sand-and-shingle beach of Colwell Bay, only 200 metres away, with a popular beachfront restaurant, and you can hire water sports equipment such as canoes and paddle boards.

Enjoy coastal walks that pass scenic views. Head to The Needles (2.5 miles), a unique attraction of three stacks of chalk that rise out of the sea – there is also a chair lift that rises over the landmark and down to the beach.

Recently renovated to a very high standard, this home oozes style and is neutrally decorated throughout. Step into the hallway and head into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner.

The living area has plush seating for all guests to curl up together and watch a movie on the Smart TV. Adjacent is a dining area set in front of French patio doors that lead out into the garden.

The colourful kitchen has plenty of storage and surface space along with a Range cooker, for creating culinary delights, while a little breakfast bar provides a space for guests to socialise with the chef. Adjacent is a handy utility room and a snug with an en-suite wet room – the snug converts into an accessible bedroom for two extra guests on request.

Upstairs are the four main bedrooms. Three have super-king-size beds that convert to twins on request, and two boast their own en-suite shower rooms, while the fourth bedroom has a bunk bed perfect for children.

Fort Victoria is many attractions in one convenient location. What once was a historically important fort is now home to a Marine Aquarium, a Model Railway, a Sea Bed Archaeology Exhibition and a Planetarium. The Country Park also offers delightful woodland walks. Countryside Rangers are on hand to give guided walks of the seashore and the woodland. Admission to the park is free of charge but each of the attractions incur a small charge.
Play & Farm Park - PO31 8PE

Described as the Isle of Wight's multi activity and play Farm park this attraction will really appeal to families looking for a fun day out.  Recently improvements have been made to enlarge the straw fun play barn and this is now the biggest indoor play space on the island.  This farm is now split into separate attractions, the play barns and petting farm which include rides on tractors and trailors and the tractor driving experience. Open all year this place is also excellent value for money.
Robin Hill Country Adventure Park - PO30 2NU

This is an award winning attraction on the isle of wight with so much to see and do.  From thrilling rides for the whole family to challenging play for younger kids they have thought of everything.  One of the highlights is the Falconry where you can see some of the most breathtaking displays in the UK.  You can also get a taste of nature and history here from red squirrels to romans.  The great value freedon tickets are well worth the money allowing you to return to the park as often as you like for 7 days.

Royal Victoria Country Park is highly recommended for a day out in the summer and has lots of things for children to do. There are woodland trails to explore with free maps and guides available. There are also several play areas, one for older children, one for the little ones and one for disabled children so no one is left out of the fun. Within the grounds there is also a heritage site, a tea room and a formal garden.
Paultons Family Theme Park - SO51 6AL

This is a really fun and memorable attraction which is suitable for day trips or short breaks.  You can buy your tickets online which will help you beat the queues especially in school holidays as well as save money.  With a whole host of attractions and thrilling rides there might not be enough time in the day!  Exciting rides include the Edge and The Cobra.  More family friendly rides for younger children include the Magic Carpet Ride and the Flying Frog.  We are sure the whole family will have fun at Paultons so check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs.

The mighty Edge ride and the terrifying Cobra rollercoaster are the ones to go for if white knuckle rides are your thing. The centre also offers visitors an educational experience with talks and hands on events taking place daily.
