Take four steps up to the door of your timber-clad lodge, which has a spacious interior with high ceilings and pale walls, creating a light and airy impression that sets the scene for a relaxing getaway. The open-plan kitchen, dining and living area form the heart of the layout, with the comfortable seating, generous dining table, and well-equipped kitchen sharing one bright room so the cook is never cut off from the conversation.

You'll have everything necessary for a self-catering stay, including a dishwasher and a microwave, and there's a breakfast bar where two people can sip a morning coffee together. French doors open straight onto the decking, ready to be flung open for a wonderful inside/outside feeling.

You'll also have a TV for slow evenings in. Leading off the living area, the king-size bedroom has ample storage and an en-suite shower room with a shower and WC.

The second bedroom is arranged as a twin and uses a sleek family bathroom with a shower over the bath. The private decked area faces south and boasts a picnic bench for al fresco dining.

Look out for seasonal events too such as the Fire in the Sky event on 27th October 2010 - discount advance tickets are available for most of the events so don't forget to check out their website.  Some of the most popular thrill rides include the first Twisting Droptower in the UK called the Skyraker 001.  The Hornert Rollercoaster is also not to be missed.

Paradise Park first opened its doors in Cornwall in 1973 and has been one of the regions top attractions ever since. What was once just a tropical bird garden is now a refuge for many different species of animal and aims to be educational as well as fun for its visitors. The inhabitants include some typical UK creatures including Otters, and Red Squirrels as well as some more unusual and rare animals including Red Pandas. Younger children will enjoy meeting the friendly animals in the farm area. The site has recently been extended and now also has a fantastic Jungle Barn where kids can let of steam.

Open from end March to end October this is a lovely attraction suited to families with kids of all ages.  You don't need to worry about the weather either as this is an all weather attraction with the addition of soft play areas and a ball pool for the little ones.  Some of the highlights include the Bull Pen indoor play area, the Raging Bulls Ride, Pat-aPet and the Mini tractors.  Of course there is also the opportunity to get up close to the farm animals and try some bottle feeding.
Newquay Zoo - TR7 2NN

The Eden Project is a fantastic local attraction in Cornwall which will appeal to families and couples.  From the moment you step through the entrance it's clear that this is no ordinary attraction.  All under one roof you will find a giant rainforest, Horticulture courses, rock climbing, ice skating and an arts cafe.  Not all of these activities are on at one time, they are staggered throughout the year so check out the website to see what's available when you plan to visit.  Autumn at Eden is very popular with events such as daily apple pressing and Time Changing Tales (story telling with an autumn theme).
